William & Mary is not a good team, but they beat Hofstra and Elon at home and had JMU up big on Saturday before losing in OT. Here's what we have: The best rebounding team as usual in the league at a +6.5 ratio. That's normal. You have quality bigs in Thompson and Paar with Gray and Holden who can go inside-out. Surround them with THE BEST three-point shooting team in the league. We shot 44% from three-point range tonight and lead the league in three-point percentage at over 36% and in field goal defense at 40. I know the schedule gets tougher with Charleston and UNCW coming up at home. Need to use your size up front to go inside and out. Maybe Nolan returns, maybe not. If he does, the defense gets better. If he doesn't, well it's all about Gibson, Timberlake and Rizzuto to defend and hit some 3s.

She can post and go left or right. She also can face and has a deadly 3-point shot at 6-foot-1. "Peanut" Rivera with 20 points and three treys. They didn't need a big game from Aleah Nelson, who struggled shooting-wise (3-14), but had 10 dimes and six assists. Rayne Tucker had 11pts and 7 rebs against her former team. Kornegay-Lucas struggled with foul trouble and had just five points on 1-of-5 shooting, but did have eight rebounds and three assists in just 18 minutes. Towson is not a tall team and while the refs let them play inside and called a million hand-check calls on the perimeter, they still need to do a better job of rebounding. Guards are leaking out some for the break and probably need to help with defensive boards (50-42 JMU advantage). Towson had just 10 turnovers, while Dukes turned it over 15 times in their last trip to SECU as a member of the CAA.

If you can't get out on Sunday and I get it, the weather could get ugly around 3pmish. Towson women are playing JMU at 2pm on Flo Sports. This is the big test for the women, who are 12-2 this season. We are 75th in the Net Rankings (a little better than the men), while James Madison is 158 (6-7 on the season). Former post player Rayne Tucker will play her first game against her former team. When I heard he was coming back as the 14th scholarship player (allowed this year), I thought ok, He's coming off an Achilles' injury. He's had a meh career and has been injured twice in two seasons. He shot 28% from 3pt and about 42% overall with 4.5rpg. So I didn't expect him to be such a key impact player. In fact, if you are looking for Sixth Man of the Year candidates, he should be up there. I would say Gibby as well, but he's been a starter and backup a bunch of times and his production has been up-and-down. But Gray has been fairly consistent and he's shooting (by far) the best he's shot here by a longshot: 55% from the field and 34% from beyond the arc with 4.2rpg in 20mpg. He was averaging around 25mpg in his first two seasons so he's playing less minutes, but is being more efficient. Maybe it's the Cam effect or playing with better players around him, but also I think the additional weight helps. He's finishing much better around the basket and he's not just firing shots from the perimeter.

Yup. Elon was 2-0 at home with W&M coming up, who blew that game today. Great win. It was ugly that was the only way for us to win.
