The kid that came in led them to the win though but I hear they were really banged up.

But getting back to a running back. Yes, they should have brought in a running back from somewhere. A competent one. Even a freshman. We added nobody. If Shane it out for a long time, we have just three. Lose them and we're down to a redshirt freshman in Sean Bryan, who is about 5-6, 180. Or you are using walk-ons. That's a position where you need numbers.

I think it's second-guessing because he was not just another kick returner, but an All-American. Now after saying that, personally, I would never have had him on kickoffs but definitely on punt returns because he had great hands and is a good decision-maker. Rob had him out there because he though he could break a big one, just as he did against Delaware last season. In big games, it's hard to argue about using him on KO returns. As for bringing in a transfer RB, yes, yes, yes and yes. There were several options but they weren't good fits. I guess if he had tremendous faith in Hunter or Tippett as returners, he would have them out there over Shane.

Oh damn, no wonder he wasn't on the field. Love the way your son plays. Tough blocker and good receiver.

Next man up is always important in football. Look at Steven Brown tonight at safety. He had a pick. Coby was terrific again with a pick. How about Christian Dixon replacing Deberry? He had a huge hit on Ferguson for our only sack and was all over the field.

I think the weather was ok. It rained earlier in the day but it was in the 50s at night.

I think all three backs will be used. Kobe, if he's healthy, is the closest thing we have to Shane because he can catch out of the backfield. Use Yeedee as the hammer and Platt (AP) can be a change-of-pace guy. I like the play-calling in the second half when we used more boots and used both tight ends extremely well. Epps and Clark were just carrying guys tonight. Our receivers weren't great with Allen out. Thought Caleb Smith played well with three catches for 60 yards, while Shane Leatherbury, though he dropped one, had six for 63. That's against some of the best corners in the league and a very good D, though they do have injuries. My guy Daniel Thompson did not have a catch.

I think we’re just happy to get them for a half at this point.

Yes, we have three ships left. No, the transfers count in last year's class. So right now, we have (barring another departure or two) for 2020-21: Obviously, when looking at the roster, we can use another big, though Thompson can pay some 5. We can maybe use a hybrid 3-4 like Gray, who can space the floor and maybe redshirt. I think we're also going after another point guard or combo guard. PG Gibson, Dottin SG Timberlake, Corey Barnes SF Mims, Betrand PF Gray, Solomon, C. Thompson C Victor O. BTW, I put Barnes at the 2 but I assume at 6-1 or so, he's going to be more of a combo guard. He's apparently an outstanding defender.

We never offered this kid

Flacco is not the only one the pro scouts are looking at.
-
BTW, Jabari Allen not listed on depth chart. I didn’t see him get hurt on Saturday. Unless it happened in practice.
-
Were we in the top 10 at the time? That’s a top 10 game.

Last year, we struggled offensively and still put up 28 points in the 7 point home loss. The defense allowed 408 yards and 6.7 yards per play. We had 142 rushing yards but just 3.6 ypc. Simpson has 45 yards rushing on 13 carries and 7 catches for 69 yards and two TDs. Flacco had 101 rushing yards on 19 carries and 225 yards passing with three TDS. The problem? He had two picks. They also shut down Jabari Allen, who had just one catch for 14 yards and did not have any plays over 24 yards in the running or passing game. Improved defensive line and receiving corps should help. Flacco has to limit mistakes. Need to be 0 or better in turnover ratio.

They haven't officially ruled him out for any period of time but I'm going to guess he's not going to play in the near future. Read into that what you want. Was still on crutches on the sidelines. Going to be Christian Dixon's job with Chiz playing some against the pass. I think it would take two guys to do do his job.
