Most of you guys wanted a skilled point guard who can shoot and pass. Sorry, we're not getting Steph Curry, Damian Lillard, CP3, Steve Nash or either Isaiah Thomas but he could be pretty damn good. I think he starts right away or at worst, is getting significant minutes off the bench. He started the season with Timberlake getting five starts in nine games. Dottin closed the season as a starter and Betrand had a few starts. Not saying he's the saviour. Who knows? But in terms of skills and ability to dish, we haven't had that point guard in years. If you want to say he's the next Tim Crossin, fine? Tim was a good player in his first season and then PK benched him. He was a lot slower and less athletic than Gibson, but could shoot. We also didn't have much of a strength program back then. Now we do and Gibson will probably put on 5-10 pounds before the season starts. Timberlake has already added 12lbs.

Watching quietly. WTF does that mean? Not bad? He poured in 27 against an elite defender but it was meh.

Reminds me a little of Toews of UNCW. He was on the light side as well.

    D1 Transfers from Verbal Commits

Sounds like a combo guard with 101 assists and 68 turnovers, 39 steals. But only 33% 3pt. Year before he shot 38%. https://highpointpanthers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7013

No timeline. I think they really needed a point guard and they filled it. Now, if they go for two transfers, they can take their time because the list is up to 333 on Verbal Commits. Or could go for another HS senior, Prep school guy or Euro. Like I said, I would pref a grad transfer but you have to get lucky and hope you can find somebody who wants to transfer down for PT. Usually, they are transferring up or a similar level.

    Rivera to transfer from WBB

Not a complete shock since we are adding two more guards to the class for next season. Rivera rarely played last season. You have 14 scholarships and they play about 8 players. So six won't be happy with their time.

As for the depth chart, I'd like to see this: C Sanders, Charles Thompson, Tunstall PF Gray, Tunstall, Solomon SF Fobbs, Betrand, Gray (another freshman?) SG Timberlake, Howard, Betrand, Fobbs PG Gibson, Dottin So that's 11 with two spots left. Personally, I'd like to see a sit-out big transfer and a grad transfer 1 or 2. We could be pretty good next season but we still have a freshman backcourt. Adding an experienced transfer would take pressure off one of the young guards. We could go big with Gray at the 3 and Fobbs at the 2 but the ballhandling would be weak. That would put a lot of pressure on the point guard. Howard at the 2 off the bench should be fine and if Betrad and Dottin improve their game, that's great. The more the merrier. I think people forget how good Gray can be for us if he can shoot close to that 40% from 3 that he did in his freshman season or even 36-37% this season. That will spread the court and allow Sanders a little more space down low. Hopefully, Thompson and/or a stronger Solly can add some interior points as well. Tunstall is a role player but teams don't respect his offense. They don't even guard him. They just try and keep him off the boards. With Gray, you now have a guy who can take pressure off of Fobbs and throw in Gibson and Timberlake (assuming he improves some), you have a different team offensively.

I assume one will be a transfer to sit out. Maybe two. I didn’t say Brown is coming here only to keep an eye on that situation.

I think we could add one transfer and one freshman or two transfers for the last two ships. One interesting name to keep in mind is that W&M signee Cameron Brown could be available. He's 6-6 wing out of Elanor Roosevelt and another first-team Washington Post All-Met. But who knows with that fluid coaching situation.

Early Look/Speculation on Spring Depth chart

I think the depth chart will change as the transfers arrive over the summer I didn’t see as much practice as I wanted to and the weather was horrible so tough to judge.

These guys move on all the time. That wouldn’t indicate a shakeup.
  20. Their best defenseman just tore his ACL and we still couldn’t take advantage.
