We ran a lot off of defensive rebounds against Tulane yesterday until we started milking the clock with a big lead. I think we don't have an identity. Sanders is the only true low post threat and he's always in foul trouble. Some of his fouls are just ridiculous reach-ins and it seems like he's always tired. Al has been a bit better lately but he's so methodical, it takes an hour for him to get off a shot. Solomon is getting there but is a work-in-progress. Yes, we run a weave for 15 seconds and then if we can't get the ball inside or can't force a drive, we're throwing up a shot late in the shotclock. Ugly basketball. That's why we should run, not because it didn't work in the Bahamas. And I'm saying judiciously. If you are up 10, then slow it down some. But if you are having trouble scoring, why not push the rock? And if Fobbs is off and Howard can't shoot or pass, try doing something different. Trap in the backcourt. Zone press. Solomon, Betrand and Dottin can run for days.

When we weren't turning the ball over, a lot of shots were rimming in and out. Save for Fobbs. who had many short shots. Maybe he was tired. When Dottin, who can't shoot past five feet, is your leading scorer or tied for leading scorer, you are in trouble. I also think we should run more. We said we had to slow it down because we were committing too many turnovers. Now we're slowing it down at a snail's pace and committing turnovers. Also need to go back to at least a zone press, no small guard can throw it over Dennis' long arms. That's a way you can score points, off of turnovers. Even if you get 3-4 a game off turnovers, that's 6-8 points. Ahh, I can only dream of scoring points off of turnovers. Forcing turnovers instead of us turning the ball over.

Some comments from Skerry postgame "Held them to 29% shooting and won by 9 on the glass. Our guard play is not good, (It's about) Taking care of the ball. Jakigh was good. Going to be a good player. Consistent DNA, is about winning. Look at the turnovers. It's Frustrating. Give La Salle credit. Our defensive rebounding has been so good. We have to get guys better through film work, practice. Have to figure out if we're good enough to take care of the ball. If you look at our numbers defensively and rebounding are off the charts since the Bahamas. (Turnovers) are mind-boggling. TJ had no assists and six turnovers. Have to find guys. We need patience. Guys are catching the ball with One hand. Not playing off of two feet" "Hopefully at some point, it's going to resonate. I'm more concerned that certain guys have to look in the mirror. Just not good enough when the ball is in your hands and just throw it to the other team. Shame on our league for starting game this early (Elon). It is what it is. Have to practice on Christmas night" "We're getting better, (but we) have to take care of the basketball"

https://towsontigers.com/news/2018/12/21/mens-basketball-balanced-towson-cruises-past-tulane.aspx Brian Fobbs scored 15 points to lead four players in double figures as Towson rolled over Tulane, 73-55 to open the Battle of the Boardwalk Tournament. The Tigers will advance to play in the championship game on Saturday when they face the winner of La Salle/Alabama A&M. Towson led 32-30 at the half and outscored the Green Wave, 42-26 in the second half. They outrebounded Tulane, 46-22 and had 18 offensive rebounds. The Tigers also shot 45% from the floor and held the Green Wave to 38.3%. Pat Skerry after the game on radio: "A lot of guys, Dennis, Fobbs, Solomon, all rebounded. Today, we defended and rebounded. We have since the Bahamas. We're slowly getting there on offense. We had a balanced scoring effort. We have a chance to be a pretty good team. We're here to win a championship for our university." "It wasn't our guys fault in the Bahamas. It was my fault. This was the best win we've had on the season. It's about getting ready for the league. It's important to play your best ball in February and March." "I think T.J.'s stat line is pretty good. His presence was way better. Took care of the ball against pressure. Did a very good job tonight. " -

It was an impressive win. I wasn't thrilled with playing stall ball with around 10:00 left and a big lead but you do that against Tulane. Howard did a nice job of controlling the tempo but we got a lead because we rebounded, defended decently and pushed the ball up the court in transition. I like the improvement of Solomon. I think Betrand has a ways to go but he's going to be a really good defender. -
No, he’s not going to make more than Rob. Rocco isn’t making all that much more than Rob https://www.delawareonline.com/story/sports/college/ud/2016/12/13/richmonds-rocco-new-blue-hens-football-coach/95367878/

Nobody is saying Rob is perfect. He has his flaws but to continue to talk shit about the program is getting so freakin' old. There are issues but at least they are addressing them, by adding two outstanding transfers on the D-line, will be adding another DC and now his brother his gone. At some point, you have to wonder if the assistant salaries are where it needs to be. Now he needs to find two competent coordinators who can also recruit. He's going to find another transfer DL or two and a big back (they are working on getting somebody). Last year, we added those transfers maybe a little too late in the summer instead of getting them before the spring. Not just Flacco but Chris Clark, DeBerry, Shuman, Gillette, Yeedee, etc. By the way, DeBerry was playing out of position at DE/OLB. I think that will be rectified in the spring when he moves to ILB.

It does? It tells you he's an alum who hasn't pursued other opportunities (hard) like every other successful coach in this league or he hasn't lost enough to get fired. But sure, this program sucks. Let's rail about the program after a very nice recruiting class on Early signing date and your dream of the OC gone.
-
He took more money. They offered it to him and let’s face it, they poached him from a rival CAA school. They also did the same thing with Rocco, taking him from Richmond.

Jared is a good guy and I wish his offense the best but I’ll never root for that program. And everybody is replaceable. Reading from Ed Lee’s article in the Sun, it sounds like we are going to hire from within. The good news is that all the coaches are new, hired within the last year or two. My assumption is that the new OC will be RB coach Scott Van Zile, who spent six seasons as the OC at Monmouth and was QB coach at Elon.

Not exactly, a handful of changes were made last season. New scheme on offense, changed to a 4-3 two seasons ago. Third DC coming in.

Right, FCS matters

Stunning news. Heard this was a possibility late last night but couldn’t confirm or release it. Not sure of the details but Rob has to replace both coordinators unless he takes the job himself and just hires a QB coach.

When there was just one signing day, Towson (TNS) used to produce a short video clip of highlights for each player. I'm going to try and do the same with help from Hudl.
