Howard's biggest problem is on the defensive end and running the team. I wouldn't be shocked to see Dottin start against Loyola.

Whether Adams can play or not, they desperately need to find a point guard who can play right away next season. Has to be able to run the team and defend. A freshman, a Euro, a D1 transfer, a grad transfer (should have gotten one this year), a juco transfer (ok maybe not), a Canadian? I didn't understand why we were looking at a diminutive PG, even if he's very good. That doesn't seem to match our MO.

He’s not going anywhere so you can squauk all you want but I don’t understand how people just don’t get college basketball at this level. The only way you can compete when you lose most of your team is to get transfers. Since there is no Benimon in the mix, this was going to be rough start. Blame him for Howard and Sanders. Fobbs is going to be fine and hope he gets better by conference time. Who cares if we beat Wesley or Temple? This program was lucky to get 10 wins every season no matter who they played in the past.

I hear Zain could play but sounds like 50-50.

Great article by John. I think he meant after 2019. Every comment after the game mentioned how he didn’t want to say goodbye to the seniors. If you watched him since the Delaware game against very good defenses, he has struggled with decision-making and he admitted that. He needs one more year to prove himself. Playing Florida next season can’t hurt. And the scouts will be out to see him, not Monty, Matt and Wallace.

How many years have we been rebuilding? I don't get that statement. We're rebuilding this year because we lost the whole freakin' team. But in the last five years, we've won 25, 12, 20, 20 and 18 games. When he took over this program, this was an absolute dumpster fire, one of the worst in the nation. He's made them viable. Now he needs to get them to the next step and whether he do that is certainly questionable because he hasn't added that key player, preferably a guard. Who knows? Maybe that's going to be Timberlake? Or Dottin? Or Betrand down the road? I will never give up on freshmen who I think have some talent. This isn't last year's class where Prophete was not a good recruit to be kind and not sure what they say in Drayton other than he can score some.

I'm not giving Pat a pass based on losing two key sophomores, who should be here. But it is what it is. When he got here, we lost Isaiah Philmore and Braxton Dupree. There wasn't much he could do to replenish that team. He lost Martin and Gorham after the season. He had to pick up Selcuk and Timberlake. Then Howard was a late signee. Betrand was only supposed to sit for Martin for two years until he was ready. This is the reality we're living with. That's not a formula for winning and you can blame Pat for those guys leaving but once they left, we pretty much knew this season was going to be rough. The problem starts and ends with recruiting. He's recruited well enough to win in all but two seasons. But to get over the hump, he has to get more Jerrell Benimons.
