I know I'm going to be there, family and friends of the players will be there, some alums will be there. Hopefully some from the Baltimore area to see Flacco if the weather holds up. We've been getting pretty good non-student crowds this year. Best in years. These kids have made us proud this season even if they didn't play that well in their last two games. If we could finish our last game at home in 2018 with a win, I'll be happy with that.

You know how everybody talks about guard play and quarterback play. That's the difference in both sports. That's why football has struggled and men's basketball for all these years. This Kiona Jeter is a game-changer. She's averaging 24.5ppg and 3.2 assists in three games. She has blazing speed. Reminds me a little of Shanae Baker-Brice, who was super quick and could take over games.

It's an automatic clause in Rob's contract from what I've heard. They should wait until the playoff run (of course) to extend it to 2-3. I think it's a little different in basketball. This was a terrible basketball program when Pat took over. Lost 14 straight seasons before that 1-31 year. He turned them into solid winners but hasn't made the finals. He's done more than just win some games, the academics are much better as we're not in APR hell thanks to PK. He's been a major upgrade over the last three head coaches. Eight year deal? That's extreme obviously but I don't know all the details of that contract and if there's a buyout included.

You're right. Nothing is a given with this team if we can't put up 30+ points. Weather could be a huge factor and that would benefit Duquesne if it's raining.

Linebackers have to fill the gaps because there will be some holes assuming Harps-Upshur doesn't play. The nose guard is supposed to tie up two blockers. Not sure Danagogo or Gyeni can do that. I was hoping to see some big John Mullins (6-4, 290). The run defense might be more of a concern than the pass defense. We did a very good job against Elon's running QB. He just wasn't a great passer.

Yeah, South Dakota State is horrible. We should beat a team that nearly beat ND State at home (21-17 loss) and has been very good throughout the season. Didn't play an FBS game against Iowa State because it was PPD. This team is not built for a long run. We don't have a great back like T-West and the O-Line is not as dominant on the ground. Not even close. Flacco is going to be playing in the cold weather (around 40 degrees very early forecast) and we didn't exactly do a great job in a cold, windy day in Delaware. You have to be able to run the football between the tackles. And of course, play some defense. That 2013 team wasn't great defensively but they had some stars on it. If we win against Duquense, it's a solid season. Nothing great, but successful because we made the playoffs and hopefully are on the right track. It really shows we have to get better on both lines because in a couple of years, when Miller starts, he's going to need time to throw. We also could a big back as well. But if all the transfers are back like Clark, Deberry, Shuman, Gillette, etc, we should be good again. We could be great if we can develop both lines, replace Wallace maybe with Deberry or Dymelle Parker.

Funny but Rob is getting at least one due to a clause in his contract. He deserves at least two but I think they'll wait and see how we do in the playoffs.

But UMass pounded them in the opening game, 63-14. Seems like they are a bit like us. Strong offense and shaky defense. They have a big back at 225 and another big WR at 6-5 though their top guy is 5-11. O-line is not small but on D, looks like they run a 3-4. Decent size up front, smallish LBs must be quick.

One other thing. I know it sounds like sour grapes or protecting PS, but I think Gorham left for his own reasons but I think Zane left to get more publicity. We have no TV deal. It's ludicrous that the school presidents and ADs wouldn't pay part of the production costs to put us on NBC Sports Washington. It can't help recruiting for an CAA school when all you can say is that your parents, friends and family can watch you on the CAA App on a Smart TV, ROKU, tablet or I-Pad.

No positivity allowed in this thread. The losses are expected. The blowouts are not but as I've said a million times, I picked this team last due to inexperience. If they don't get better after this fiasco of a tournament I'd be more worried than I already am now. Timberlake can score 14 points in one game and then does nothing the next. That's what freshmen do and unfortunately we have to rely on too many. The transfers are another story and they've been the biggest disappointments so far, esp. Sanders and Howard.

I guess the Stony Brook loss to Albany meant very little to our cause yesterday with six CAA teams getting in. Amazing that we can't get a TV deal for the league. Unreal.

Skerry has an eight-year deal. There is no hotseat. Not sure what people expected. Even he said this is a work-in-progress, maybe even worse than he expected. You can't lose your best four players, two of them to transfer, and just reload. It is what it is. Hopefully, they improve as the season goes on.
