(Sorry guys for getting this up late. I had to take a call. I always want to win that Delaware game more than ever. The press box is great if you are 100 pounds and anorexic. No heat. No WiFi. They took my umbrella before the game and why the hell would I need one in the press box. But fortunately it was there when I walked out. This is really just another Towson-Delaware game. We're hurting a little bit and we earned the right to hurt a little bit. We made too many mistakes against a really good football team. On defense in second half Didn't take care of the little things. Talked about it halftime and decided not to do it. What did we give up, 30-some\ points in the second half? I'd say we didn't take care of the little things. On Red Zone issues We did not make the best of our opportunities. We settled for field goals instead of touchdowns when we had a chance to score a lot of points. The goal is to score more than them. One guy made a mistake on each and every one of those plays. As an offense, you need 11 guys to do everything right and we didn't do it. We battened down the hatches a little bit and picked it up. It's gotta be important before it's important. On Shane Simpson He played lights out. Ran very hard. We did it with two tailbacks because Kobe Young was hurt. That put more pressure on him and he responded. On Brent Richardson Next play. Going into this game, you would have never thought we be able to stifle their running game and they would have had a chance to beat us. That speaks well to their coaches. Their staff adapted really well and put their kids in position to win. Truth be told, I got outcoached today. I'll owe that. On Flacco They were only rushing three, dropping eight. That means you get to stand back there a long time but the holes are small. On late in the game It's the type of team we have. We're not going to be done playing until they tell us we're done. We have good players, we put them in to be successful. Sometimes the ball doesn't always bounce the way you want it to. It's not about what happens, it's how you respond. On 2013 Delaware loss compared to this as an eye-opener From my perspective, I hope so. It's a good football. It's a top 25 football team. The margin for error against teams that good is very small. When you are championship team, a very good team, you don't get tired about doing the little things. We don't have enough experience with that yet, but we're learning.

Earlier, some people were wondering why Shane wasn’t getting the ball enough. Yeedee has not been consistent as a runner but he needs to get the ball in the red zone more.

I don't care if they are going to be 0-32, they have some talent and play in the Big 10. They have three returning starters and some talented youngsters that are 3* guys. We have one returning starter so if we play a Big 10 team close in a scrimmage, I'll take it as a positive.

As for Towson, they just need to step up defensively. They have seven picks this season and have forced 11 fumbles with six recoveries. This is definitely a hard-hitting defense but 13 sacks in 8 games is not enough and while they have allowed 17, many of those has been coverage sacks. The O-line has pass protected very well this season. Just a surprise that Grant Udinski leads with 3.5 sacks and Ricky Deberry has just 2.5 in 7 games. Shocking that he has so little sacks at this point in the season but does have 3 QB hurries and two forced fumbles. Even though the complaints are valid about the D, we are having some great individual seasons from potential all-CAA players in Diondre Wallace (66 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 sack, 1 INT 2 FF) and Robert Heyward (64 tackles, 5.5 TFL, 4 pass breakups, 1 fumble recovery, 2 FF). Keon Paye also leads with two picks and is third in tackles with 55. Offensively, Flacco has 2,201 passing yards, 570 rushing yards for 346.4 ypg. He also has 19 TDs and eight picks on a 65.1 percent completion percentage with four rushing TDs Shane Simpson adds 488 yards rushing and six TDs. He has 20 catches for 212 yards and three TDs. Shane Leatherbury leads all receivers with 45 catches for 663 yards and four TDs. He could be on his way to a second or third-team all-league. Jabari Allen adds 34 catches for 392 yards and five TDs.

That one drop will hopefully not cost us the season. I wouldn't want to peg that one play on that kid, who is having a decent season. But sure, for the most part, there was nobody open when Flacco dropped back and they dropped eight. I don't think they rushed three on that play but I'm not positive and my DVR ran out before that play.

Who cares about rating their win? It was a terrible loss for Towson, anytime you have a two-touchdown lead in the third quarter, blow it, drop a game-winning TD pass. Give up a long Kickoff return after you finally take a lead on a squib kick. Have to bounce back.

This one was bigger for obvious reasons

Delaware dropped everybody back in coverage and nobody got open.

It’s all about getting pressure. The defense wasn’t bad last year. We got run over because our D-line was decimated by injuries. We’ve been playing mostly man, not zone until yesterday when we were getting toasted in single coverage. I think Shuman has been pretty good this year but Gillette has struggled lately and our safety play, especially opposite Fenner has been shaky at best. Not having a healthy Troy Vincent who got hurt in camp hasn’t helped, But we never blitzed early in the season and survived because our offense was putting up 50 a game. Now that we’re playing better passing QBs, the lack of pressure is just killing us. I think Kehoe took us by surprise because we were expecting them to just run, especially due to the weather. We never adjusted and I expect some this week including trying to dial up more pressure. Hopefully Deberry is closer to.100% this week and starts. Lyndon has done a nice job taking over for Hach two years ago. Yesterday was probably his worst day against an FCS opponent.

Well somebody on the chat thought it was game over after the half. Wonder who that was? The D looks good when you are up 30. They played well in the second half last week and decent most of the season but tonight was like the Wake Forest game. They were just playing pitch and catch.
