    I’d rather be 11th.

    play-offs

Let’s just try and beat Delaware. If we go 8-3 and don’t get in, I would say f-ck the FCS and the CAA and look elsewhere.
  6. https://towsontigers.com/news/2018/10/20/-13-14-football-dominates-ualbany-to-improve-to-6-1.aspx Towson moves into first place in the CAA after William & Mary upset Maine, 27-20. Tom Flacco completed 23 of 36 for 306 yards for two TDs and two picks, while rushing for 80 yards and two scores to lead the Tigers to a 56-28 road win against Albany on Saturday afternoon. This game was really never in doubt as Flacco recovered from a bit of a slow start to use his legs and his arm to carve up the Great Danes' young defense. Towson ended up with 537 yards and 217 on the ground. Flacco had two picks, but one was a Hail Mary at the end of the half. The other was a poor decision on a throw at the five-yard line on first-and-goal when he tried to his Shane Simpson and was picked off by Kareem Gibson. Towson had a 38-21 lead at the half and completely shut down the Albany offense until the last drive when backup quarterback Will Brunson led the Great Danes down the field against the subs for the Tigers. The defense held Vinny Testaverde Jr. to just 10-of-22 for 210 yards with one TD and a pick. He did complete two long touchdown passes to Juwan Green, including one late in the first half against double coverage. Shane Simpson added 42 rushing yards on 11 attempts with a TD and two catches for 21 yards. Yeedee Thaenrat had another long run with a 42-yard TD and had 51 yards on six carries. Shane Leatherbury had a big game after missing the second half of the William & Mary game with 7 catches for 114 yards and a TD, while Jabari Allen added 7 catches for 90 yards and a TD. Safety Mantriel Reaves led the Tigers with 8 tackles, while backup DE Grant Udinski added two sacks and one forced fumble. DL Tibo Debaille also saw his first action of the season and had a sack and a forced fumble (which somehow they didn't give him credit for). They ruled it a hurry and a pick for John Lambert. Towson played without Ricky Deberry (ankle) and N. Cook who are expected to return against Delaware. The Tigers are back in action against the Blue Hens on Saturday from Newark at 3:30pm.

Stony Brook was a test. Ask Rhode Island. Villanova had just beaten Temple so at the time, it was a big test. They have sucked since then so it loses some luster but at the time, that was a damn good road win. We are good. Really good. Especially on offense. Are we great? That remains to be seen and if it rains Saturday, that helps Delaware and could slow our offense down. We just have to adjust and show we can grind it out. Defense is the biggest question mark. We don't have to be great but we have to stop giving up big plays. Safety plays has got to get better. The middle of the field has to be defended better. The pressure needs to be more consistent but I love the fact we're rotating defensive lineman and without two starters on Saturday, we still managed decent pressure.

    “Secret” scrimmage vs Rutgers

The Rutgers fans don’t even know and even if I was told by somebody inside the program, it would still be a secret. I don't even think they keep score in many of those scrimmages.

IL Look at Men's Lax in Fall

I know it's serious enough to miss the fall. Hopefully he'll be ready for January. Brennan is the guy as far as I understand. I still can't believe we didn't add another transfer or two.

Clark did not make the trip. Neither did Deberry or N. Cook. All are expected to be available against Delaware.

We had six penalties for 90 yards. The defense is a concern. We started Gillette as corner but he got beat badly on that first TD on the play-action. He also got beat late in the half though Tippett for some reason let the guy get behind him. I know they used Vontae McCants a lot and he came up with that early INT. He's been moved back from safety to corner but I thought he looked good today. Gillette is probably better suited for nickel and slot corner. Shuman was quiet which means he did his job. The two big plays and the one fluky run where their runner fumbled after running for about 25 yards and Gillette couldn't come up with it. Well. I had to say he had a hand in all of their TDs, but he kind of did. Not saying he's played poorly this year. We've had our biggest issues in the middle of the field with the play of the safeties and LBs against TEs and slot WRs. These seems like small issues but they could be major in tight games. Obviously scoring 30-40ppg would take care of that.

And Delaware week has begun. A win and you're one step closer to the playoffs. Flacco is going to get bombarded with Joe questions this week.

Look Flacco deserves most of the credit but you have to give the OL some kudos as well. Garnett at left tackle. He's been steady. Very few mistakes and keeps getting better. Should have started last season. Rusolillo at center instead of guard has changed the line. We're still not as dominant as the unit in 2011-13 but they also used fullbacks. For whatever reason, we still are in the Pistol inside the 5. The best play is a Flacco run. I'd like to think that should be Yeedee most of the time. Shane did have a nice strong run for the first TD. Yeedee had one great run and did very little in his other attempts. It's almost like he wants to hit a home run with every carry. Needs to use that strength to get 3-4 yards and go North-South more. But it's hard to nitpick when you score 56 points. We're just looking at the upcoming schedule. But let's not forget we put over 50 on one of the best defenses in the CAA in Stony Brook.
