Best Tweet I saw all day. Means they at least are trying.

    Tigers in the NFL/CFL/USFL/XFL thread

Shame that Ryan couldn't make the Colts and tried out for the Pats. Being on a practice squad is so fluid. You're there one week, released the next or even brought up if they need you.

    Citadel

It's never easy judging Towson crowds. I would say at least 8,000 with all the football alums coming back for the 50th anniversary celebration and decent student crowd with all day tailgating (good weather). Can't ask for more.
  9. Morgan State shocks No. 4 NC&T, 16-13 on a last-second field goal on the road. NC&T had won 15 straight games including defeating East Carolina by 5 on the road this year. You can say ECU sucks but they crushed North Carolina by 22. earlier. Wake Forest got worked by Notre Dame, 56-27 at home. Everybody knows about former CAA member ODU upsetting Va. Tech at home for one of the biggest upsets over the last decade. In CAA action, JMU crushed W&M 51-0, Villanova squeaked by Bucknell, 49-7, Elon got by Charleston Southern 31-22; Stony Brook hammered Richmond 36-10; Maine fell at Central Michigan 17-5; Delaware fell at ND State, 38-10; and as I'm typing this Albany has been struggling to get by St. Francis (PA), 35-28 very late in that one.

    2018-19 Season Previews

Every prediction I've seen has us 9th or 10th. It's understandable. This is the first one I've seen that explains why we're picked 7th, though in his outlook, he mentions Justin Gorham on the team. Then he never mentions him in the rotation. That's a wild guess that Fobbs will be on the third team though I think he can replace Morsell's offensive numbers. And it's Solomon, not Samson Uyaelumno. I also wouldn't say this statement about Skerry: "while completely ignoring the three-point line" and then he also mentions Zane Martin returning but also didn't have him in the rotation. So that might explain the 7th pick.
  12. https://towsontigers.com/roster.aspx?path=mlax Still no transfers. A bit surprise. Some big freshmen on the roster on offense and defense. If the weights are true, Woodall has dropped some serious weight.

It can't hurt. With our luck, Morgan will move into the top 25 past us because they beat the No. 4 team on the road. Though not sure if they eligible to be ranked since they are suspended for postseason. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/bs-sp-morgan-state-ncaa-penalties-20171219-story.html

Flacco named CAA Player of the Week

My guess would be DeBerry, Flacco, and maybe Shuman and Aidan O'Neill. All juniors. In terms of seniors, maybe Zain Harps-Upshur, Monty Fenner, Diondre Wallace, and Matt Kauffman. Fenner has been on the scout's radar for awhile. http://www.draftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=1021001&draftyear=2019&genpos=SS http://www.draftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=1020177&draftyear=2019&genpos=ILB

    How is this possible?

If we lose to The Citadel after this, we don't belong period. And they aren't that bad. They lost to then No. 10 Wofford by just 7 points on the road. Don't love having the bye this early in the season, which means you can sometimes come out flat. If we can use this as motivation to come out with renewed energy with a hopefully big crowd, then hopefully it helps. But rankings aren't meaningless. Not in college football at this level.

    How is this possible?

Here is the STATS FCS Poll and the Athlon's poll. We dropped to 122 in the Hero Sports Poll. I think RA has a little more motivation to use in two weeks. http://www.fcs.football/cfb/polls.asp?div=fcs https://athlonsports.com/college-football/fcs-rankings-power-poll-following-week-3-2018 https://herosports.com/fcs-football-rankings https://fcsinsider.com/news/2018/9/17/football-fcs-top-25-rankings-sept-17.aspx

TOWSON 45, NOVA 35 (story now up)

    More highlights from TSN.
  21. mat1992

    How is this possible?

I think we physically manhandled Nova back in the 2011 and 2012. I'll never forget what they did to James Oboh in 2010 down 43-7. To a lesser extent in 2015. Saw some of that on Saturday with the hit from Yeedee and Robert Heyward. The offensive line play was pretty tough, especially with three guys playing on gimpy ankles in Cheripko, Rusolillo and Kauffman. Also saw a lot of broken tackles, especially on runs after the catch from Leatherbury. We rarely had YAC last season. That kid really improved his game, added strength to go with his speed and it showed.

    How is this possible?

That's garbage. They probably had us about 100 and didn't want to move us in the top 20. Just have to keep winning. I think it took awhile for us to get in the polls when we started winning in 2011. Looking back, we beat Villanova, 31-10 at home on Sept. 10. We were not ranked when we beat Colgate two weeks later, 42-12. We were not ranked in our 28-3 loss at Maryland on Oct. 6 and then we beat No. 14 Richmond, 31-28. We were finally ranked on Oct. 15, 2011 when we won that improbable game over ODU, 39-35 but we were ranked 17th and they were 18th. As big as that win was, it certainly was improbable, I still think this one was a little more important because it got us back on track.
