LSN does a nice job but only hard-core lax fans watch it. You want the casual fans an you aren't going to get them on LSN.
-
Sunday rips one high to high to tie it at 5-5. Nice play on the x by Woodall to scoop the ball on the ground and give it to McLean. Huge.
-
So the America East final is on ESPNU and we're on LSN... Albany wins 14-4, which well, they are a great team and strong program. I guess that helps.
-
Geez, Giuffreda had a chance to get a fluky goal off a ground ball but couldn't finish near the goal. Down 5-4 at the half. Could have been worse.
-
Defense has stepped up lately. Think UMass had a couple they should have scored on but we have the ball with 45 seconds left on offense. Hope to take the last shot and tie the game up, though how about a fake and go to the goal when they are expecting you to hold it?
-
Woodall wins ensuing face-off and then throws it away.
-
Finally, Monahan sores going high to low from the left side,. It's 5-4 UMass with 7:11 left in 2nd quarter. Attacking the shortie.
-
Really should be tied. Way too many missed opportunities on offense. Sunday and Monahan really struggling with their shots. Sunday scored 3 goals on Thursday and now it looks like he can't eve find the cage.
-
Finally, Maloof scores on 2nd extra man with lefty shot in low left corner. His 20th goal of the season. Now 5-3 UMass and we win the face-off.
-
Man, after the 2-0 start, the offense has disappeared. Shooting not good to be kind.
-
5-2 UMass. Another easy pass and goal at the doorstep. We are so bad on special teams this season. Awful.
-
To make it worse, Koby Smith picks up an unnecessary roughness penalty and UMass will have the ball in the 2nd quarter up 4-2 with the ball and up a many for 55 seconds. Ridiculous.
-
Long stick UMass player scores as Paparo beats Brennan from long range off another turnover. This one by McLean. 4-2 UMass and Woodall needs to start winning face-offs or this one is over early.
-
Once again, we can't scoop up key ground balls and UMass scores on transition, 3-2 UMass. Our low shots are also getting eaten up by UMass goalie. May need to go high.
-
Another scoreless EMO. Monahan had three decent shots and all missed. Still 2-2 late in the first quarter.
-
Now 2-2 after a horrific turnover. The zone defense leaving too many open so far. Brennan also has to make that long save.
-
Defense blows a ground ball after stripping the face-off guy and UMass scores a gargage goal to make it 2-1.
-
Another won face-off and Maloof scores to make it 2-0 Towson.
-
Sovero with the early game to put Tigers up 1-0.
-
I think the TV deal has something to do with it. How much? It's hard to quantify unless you ask every single kid who transferred out but it's absolutely ridiculous that we can't get on TV and that's on him along with the presidents and ADs in the league. But hey, at least Joe D. is out there stopping lacrosse balls and taking face-offs for us while our CAA tournament has moved to paid subscription LaxSportsNet from the lowly American Sports Network (non-HD).
-
That would make too much sense.

He averaged around 26ppg at his prep school but they didn't keep shooting stats for whatever reason. He also had a big senior year at Braintree HS. Don't have shooting numbers but unless he was an unrelenting gunner, his shooting numbers must be decent. https://www.prepcircuit.com/roster_players/21892268

For those who missed the video that was posted in some other thread

Hope he can live up to the New England hype.

Assuming Zane and JG do not return: PG TJ Howard, Dottin SG Timberlake, Betrand SF Fobbs, McNeill, Drayton PF Tunstall, Solomon O, Yagi C Sanders, Thomas I think Tunstall and Sanders is probably the most likely combo because Tunstall is better defending power forwards, not big centers. Sanders can play the 4 as well and if they face a very big team, they can use Thomas and Sanders together. Go smaller with Tunstall at the 5 or even the freshmen are bigger than Dennis. Will be a very interesting competition and I don't think there's one automatic starter other than Sanders. Howard has the experience at Western Ky so he had the edge on Dottin, along with playing against tough juco competition. Fobbs is an excellent shooter but he has to prove he can do more than that at the 3. Who knows about Timberlake/Betrand? I just give Nick the slight edge at the 2 because he's about 20 pounds heavier.
