Obligatory Disclaimer: Pat Skerry is the nicest coach in college basketball. He is a pillar of the community. He graduated his players. He does sincerely do amazing work for great causes. He would probably be a really fun dude to have a beer with.
If only your disclaimer were a part of the job. BUT..................................................

Is there anywhere the post game press conference can be viewed?

No negativity whatsoever. as Colonel Jessup said....."You cant handle the truth". Skerry is a coach who can get his team to beat Goucher all day long, but lose every game that matters.

It is not monumental. 13 years (not counting the first year) is 15 wins a year....basically .500. 200 Wins means you got unearned extensions.

I hope you were not sober when you came up with that one.

Don’t blame him for taking the most money. Interesting if this extra year hurts his chances to play and make more money overseas than if he went straight there last year
He is going to take a pay cut at his next stop from KU.

Don't blame him for the extensions....you, however, can blame him for coaching failures.

In fairness, it’s not all Skerry’s fault (just most of it). The FT shooting was dreadful, but Bryant’s was too.
Look, concededly this game makes no difference in terms of any postseason aspirations. But it’s emblematic of 13 years of futility when it comes to trying to win games like this
A. Poor free throw shooting can be corrected by proper coaching. They call it a free throw for a reason.
B. None of the regular season games make a difference for postseason aspirations. As I have said before we play a twenty some game exhibition season for the few games that matter in March.
In the end, it is ALL ABUT COACHING............

But he is a great human being!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do they give extensions for that?

Taking care of Morgan, Coppin, Loyola and Goucher ........and getting excited about that.....is a pretty low bar.

Credit where it is due. Big win, now the job is to keep the ball rolling.

Also love a story I heard attributed to him-he was the coach of the Pistons (so long ago, it might have been the Ft. Wayne Pistons) when the owner called him in one day and told him he was going to make a change in his department. It took Charlie a minute or two to realize there was no one else in his “department,” and that he had been fired 😆
He was the most honest and straightforward sportscaster you can think of.

Not as much as much as someone who never got to a conference final, much less a national final.

Did I forget anything?
Yes. He graduates players and he is a good human being.

(West years and Benimon) because well it was new and we were good. But if he’s anything like his broadcasting, than the host should be replaced.
i understand the "should be the best person".......but that is not how the real world works these days. If you want viewers, there must be a draw and as was noted in a previous post.....two old white guys don't work any more. there is a reason that every sport show that sells advertising has various ethnicites, genders, etc......it is because That Is What Works!

Most "broadcast" teams have both men and women as interviewers as well as those of various ethnicities. It makes the interviews seem less stale. This is not to diminish anything Spiro does, as he does a great job, but variety is the spice of life and is likely to draw more viewers. There seems to be more crossover these days with women as analysts, interviewers and play by play in men's sports and vice versa, both in order to enlarge the audiences. No guarantees, just a passing thought

I guess we are getting to the point where we say...."He graduates kids and he is a great human being".

Lets call Goucher and see if they have a date available. Skerry is always solid against them.

There is a reason for that and the reason is not because the team is playing so well.

The smaller conferences have to really think about it. Would sending your 28–6 regular season champ have better chance at winning another unit (around $2 million over there 6 years) than the revenue from hosting a conference tournament/tv? I would think soIn every sport, the object is not "to be the best".....the object is "to be the best at the right time". The Power 5 do not want the UMBC-UVA upset. Welcome to the world of professional sports, which is what college athletics truly is.

That may be true regarding the Olympic sports that receive no funding, but for a sport that gets serious funding, winning is the goal....ask PS...he will tell you he does not get an extension for graduating players.....we ain't Harvard. If he went 30-0 and did not graduate a single player.....he would be a folk hero.
