    New Conference In The Works

The problem with the CAA is no two schools have the same needs really. Jmu has good football and that’s their priority. Also dominate womens sports drexel has basketball and lax but nothing else hofstra is hoops and lax ne is hoops baseball and hockey (not Caa obviously but that’s their priority) Uncw and Charleston are the most similar. Care about winning in hoops and good coaching and baseball schools. Also have good tennis programs WM Del and Us are the all sports programs but both have way more money, prestige, fan fare and expectations than we do We have football (sort of) but are vastly underfunded than everyone else. Good facilities terrible attendance and support We basically have 3 men’s sports programs. The one that’s usually good, isn’t a big time sport, and the other two are average at best over the last decade.

Had a bunch of really good schools offer him in HS. Went to a good prep school in South Kent. Interesting list of schools there. Iowa State, Cal, URI and then alot of mid majors from all over.

Will Nads take the Hopkins job?

Don’t follow lacrosse, but his resume speaks for itself. Why would they let a coach that wins and wins national titles go???

PS Ranked 153rd Best D-I Coach

Some have a year or less experience, or none. so it’s hard to rate. But earl grant and coen are much better than pat.

It's not like we don't play a lot of iso and 1 on 1 ball either.

The kid is super athletic. Obviously he can’t just dunk on people at the D1 level but he was at oak hill. Not exactly playing Perry Hall High. Hopefully he can pick up some skill along the way and skerry gets him to use his athleticism for defense as well

    20 Game Conference Schedule

It's the off-season with no other sports going on. We are all probably bored and lost without something to distract us from everyday lives... With that being said, a lot of the Power 5 conferences have moved to a 20 game conference schedule and others (A-10) are strongly looking into it. This obviously hurts the smaller conferences as it makes it more difficult to schedule OOC and to get at large bids to the NCAAT. 11 teams can get you easily to the 20 conference games with a round robin and gives the top 5 seeds a bye in the CAAT rather than top 6. It does make scheduling harder due to one team always being off, however a "bye day" might help teams in the doldrums of conference play. The travel partner concept would need to amended. 12 teams doesn't get a true round robin schedule and some team is going to miss two others for the second time, creating that unbalance. It changes the CAAT back to the of old where you have the first 2 days of 4 games each where the top 4 get a bye. The travel partners could still be in play but would be more difficult than what we have now but could still be doable. I pose the hypothetical question (it won't happen because of how far the CAA has fallen and the lack of leadership at the top of the conference) but, if we were to add another team or two, who would it be and why? Realistic schools, not a VCU, UNC, etc. If we add just one, I would say Stony Brook. Obviously we know why they arent in for all sports currently. If we add two, I would say Stony Brook & Albany or UNCG.

    20 Game Conference Schedule

2 conference wins are 2 conference wins. Haha I’d take that. Umbc basketball isn’t exactly high level. Yes everyone knows 16-1. But they are typically 4th in the pecking order in the Am east. I would think if offered they jump at it just due to travel

Where did I say that? I didn't. But feel like Zane and Fobbs if they averaged Buies minutes could have put up those numbers, life Rilley, Knight, JWF, etc. Is that better for our team? Maybe? You may have no issues with spreading the minutes around, but the players might. It's tough to get 10-12 guys to buy in and sacrifice like that. Harder in the year 2020. 1-5 we might not be better than other teams in our conference but 1-10 we are. That is great, but has it really worked in our favor? We have won some games, but haven't done anything in March. Depth is great if you know how to use it; VCU, WVU, etc. However I don't think depth means anything in college. I'm a fan of the Musselmann philosophy of short bench 7-8 players max with others red-shirting/sitting out. obviously that works at bigger schools with more talent but, they are 18-22 year old kids, playing twice a week 30-35 games across 4+ months. My opinion depth is overrated, but thats PS style and he's going to stick to it. I just wish he would press more and use it to his advantage. I'm not saying we went or need that, just pointing out facts.

Tough to have a star and someone score 18-22 points in our system and with our coach. He is a depth coach, and most players aren't going to have a ton of minutes. Besides Benimon, I'm not sure we have had a player in the top 10 in minutes played. Depth is great when injuries and foul trouble pop up... but there's still 1 ball and 200 minutes someones going to be upset with their PT.

Was goon going to say.. looking at his stats he had 5-6 games with 7 minutes or less played and 0 points. When he got minutes he produced. What scares me is he isn’t going to get 25 a night under skerry

It’s highlights but looks like he can handle it alittle and drive some. The arc on those shots is impressive
