MBB gets 3rd seed; Squeezes by NE 75-72 in finale

Even if he just comes out in warm ups for “show” and sits on the bench dressed. Gives hem something to think about. I know he got hurt against Drexel but does anyone know what injuryTyson walker suffered? -

I only got the last few minutes of the game on the radio and thought the same thing. Maybe have dottin In to inbound? Him inbounding to a gray Gibson betrand and fobbs quartet would be deadly -

Lol. Getting boat raced the first 3 games of caa play wasn’t good. A tight game late at Uncw facing 0-4 start would have been bad. Glad I and others were wrong. 7-2 on the road is really something. They’ve won them different ways too which is impressive. They are going to need to bring it next Sunday. NE isn’t a bad as their 9-9 record is. They were missing their second best player/freshman of the year Today. As mat said we need the early February betrand back. And of course the pitch forks would be back with a loss. That would be 2-7 which is beyond unacceptable. -
Yes. It means what 1-2 more weeks of practice at minimum? That can’t hurt. I agree though having gray back would help the decision. Dont see us paying to be in it

MBB beats Hofstra 76-65 to break their 8-game winning streak

We used to be 8-12 and put multiple teams in the dance. Transfers hurt just as much as the defections of the Virginia schools. Scheduling is bad. Charleston and ne over the last 5 years have been the only ones to get and bear consistently good teams. It’s not all our fault as bigger teams won’t play us. But NCAA units are HUGE to smaller conferences. 1 a year isn’t going to cut it. Something needs to change -

Yeah it’s either NE 830 If we win or Delaware 230 if with lose. I’m down there all tournament so time doesn’t matter... prefer the last time slot so I can enjoy the earlier games. In another post I mentioned how they need to move back to a fri-mon or to a thurs-sun format. We really aren’t on tv so who cares/is the competition? A 4 game Saturday and then semi Sunday would have to draw a lot more than then what they have now. Uncw and Charleston doing good in the first two years at N Charleston helped. DC Or Baltimore is the best place for the conference now. It’s in the Middle East to get to for almost all teams and fans. No one has and advantage. Let’s face it, we could go 22-6 and 16-2 in caa and wouldn’t come close to putting 4K in rofo. Especially if the baby turtles are playing somewhere. -

So we avoid Charleston until the finals if we make it that far. They will be 4 with a win by us tomorrow or a 3 with a loss -

The gap in the have and have nots in hoops has gotten large lately and will continue. A conference that wins 1-2 ncaa tournament games in a decade. Caa hasn’t. I guess if you count jmu 16-16 matchup they did. Ncaa units are valuable to the conference. The final four and a10 defector units are gone. If any time besides Hofstra doesn’t win the tourney, we will probably get a 15 seed. Socon has took our spot recently. Caa is a good low major conference now. Sorry, but it’s the truth. -

So because a guy who “turned it around” but never made the NCAA’s in a weak conference and a little above 500 record had 15 years of job security before finally leaving, we won’t get good candidates?🤔 I’ve said this before. You don’t know until you try. There are tons of young hungry coaches out there. I along with others would love for Towson to be a stepping stone school for coaches because that means they won. Rather than middle aged coaches being here over a decade and stagnant programs??? -
Heck of a pick and roll by Gus

Still went 1-1 with him in the tournament at home. The win was a real grind it out struggle to against a 7 seed. -

2-6 2 AND 6. Needs to make the Finals. -
Skerry era team. But I retract my statement as Towson Media Guide was incorrect. They had us with 19 against Kansas (which felt odd, but didnt look at ESPN) on 58 points... LOL. So 19 done ONCE against D1 Team

Not going to speak for everyone who is on that side; but this is year 9 and we have seen stagnant/no growth over the past 5 years after Benimon (There has been some this year, and again we all give credit where its due) Taking out 2011-2012 he has 130-118 record through yesterday. That's decent/OK. Is it worthy of the 8 year crazy extension he got? NO. He had the 2 time POTY and didn't make it to the CAA Finals. Numerous transfers who did not work out. 78-63 CAA record through yesterday. This is pretty good, I'll give him that. We beat up on the bad teams and usually come up short against the top tier. The CAA has been AWFUL since he took over so take that with a grain of salt. The CAA has 1 NCAA win since he took over and that was VCU his first year. The CAA only has 1 team win a game in the NIT in that time as well, and that was again his first year. 2-6 in the CAA Tournament and 0 Final appearances. This is what needs to change and why people are antsy. Win 2 games next week. -

When you've played that style for a long period of time, it kind of sticks. Ask WM fans what they call Skerry's "style" of play -
18 is the most this year against a real team. It is 1 behind the all time Skerry era record of 19, done twice. (we had 2 20 assist games in OT games). If anyone can name the opponent that we had the first 19 assist game, I would be shocked! Hint they are very good.

Also, no matter what happens Saturday/Sunday, we are wearing white, (or gold or grey) as the "home" team on Sunday. We can finish 4th or 3rd. 3 Seed: A Towson win over NE and we are the 3 seed, playing NE again in the first round. OR A Charleston loss, and we are the 3 seed. We would play Charleston if we lose to NE. 4 Seed: A Towson loss and Charleston win. We would play Delaware. Delaware cannot be anything but a 4/5 seed. -

Agreed. Credit where credit is due. They have made adjustments in games and at half this season, where in years past they did not. Playing a perimeter based team like, Hofstra, Elon, NE, UNCW, the smaller lineup works well. -
If it holds 4,200 for hoops, then I'm 6'3! (I'm not) They did have a shuttle (12 passenger van) taking you from the further lot and drops you right at the gate. It wouldn't have been a far walk, during the day would be fine, like 1.5 blocks. But it was a nice perk. The security, concession employees and transportation folks were extremely nice and friendly. Concessions are pricey (go figure) but they do have booze. Beer, wine, spiked seltzers, and mixed alcoholic drinks

Same. It is small. I was saying 3,600 after they take out seats for band and "students" There is literally NOTHING around it. Not even a McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts. The cops on EVERY corner after the game was good. Also, NE start freshman PG got hurt last game against Drexel and according to their board will probably be out until the Tournament..
-
Lol. He’s in over his head. Has anyone else been to the ArenA??
-
Yeah they should but will they? Will they have interest? I would think if they started it early they could do some funding for it. I know college kids don’t have 50-60 bucks for the trip. But if they asked alum and season ticket holders to contribute money for tickets (for non athletes of course!). I wouldn’t mind “sponsoring” and paying for some student tickets to get them down there.
-
Yeah Ne attendance is awful. And that’s coming from us.. with 3,600 seats there won’t be a large contingent of anyone. DC good location for tourney. Arena in a bad neighborhood and alittle to small. Hate the sat-tues format and that we are a week before most other conferences. Feel like it hurts the team going to the NCAA’s. I know it’s for “tv” but for cbsn on a Tuesday? Psht
