    W&M II preview

I’ll raise you. If we get 4000 there and win. I’ll buy everyone on this board a beer at Saturday’s game and not post for a week

Jesus Tim, why did you start this shit??! The "Horse" who...never-mind. I'll be nice... 5,000 is laughable.. Maybe 5,000 combined between our last 3 home CAA games.

Yes, more is needed. I doubt 1,200 students on campus know the AD's name let alone what he looks like. A for effort though...

MBB beats up on JMU 63-48

We hardly agree on a lot Mat, but this is pretty spot on. I would go.. 1st Team: Knight-POY Riller (close second) Buie Darling Roland (Most valuable to their team) ** Could go to any of these, Like the standings its pretty wide open** 2nd team: Fobbs Pemberton Wynter Sheffield Van Vliet 3rd team: Betrand Butler Lewis Galloway Allen Sims and Brace can sneak in too Defensive Team: Tunstall Knight Mutts Buie (DPOTY) Winter Galloway Rookies: Walker (ROTY) McIntosh Woods Phillips Gibson/Ervin for the last spot. I'll give it to Gibson for a homer pick. Coach of the Year: Need to wait until the season is over. But if Elon can finish 9-9, 8-10, I'd go with Schrage, but Inglesby or Fischer could win it too. Yes FBS or Bust, I didn't choose Coen.

MBB beats up on JMU 63-48

Just what could have been if we didn't play like crap in the second half against Charleston at home. Would be really in the thick of things and have lots of ties in tiebreakers that would make it crazy. Honestly, besides JMU, any of the other 9 can win a game or two in DC and honestly there are 6-7 with a true chance to make the title game. Pair that with it being a centralized (to the conference, not to ANYTHING else) location and it being a tiny arena, should be a wild tournament. Also, you provided a lot of information there. Just wanted to share this cool site for anyone interested in scenarios, for all sports: http://playoffstatus.com/colonialathleticbasketball/towsonstandings.html

    JMU II preview

Bahaha and we got absolutely steamrolled by them at home. They have a better NET and RPI. Along with winning the conference last year, lost the best player in the conf to graduation, 2 sudden transfers and their only big to injury. So your point.. No it does not but being a bigger fan does. And much more than you. “FBS or bust” hoping that name is more of a joke than your posts

    JMU II preview

LOL. read the other threads. I’ve given skerry credit for winning close games and a winning streak. Something he’s never done before. Prove to us that you can lead us in a tourney run and then let’s talk. I’m a bigger fan that anyone and want us to win exceeding whose expectations?? With what we had back and what other teams didn’t top 3 should have been a given Don’t be a clown. Look a their stats. They should be way better than their record. Lost every game by 1-2 and blow out others. He has one good player and is still in thick of a top 3-4 record...

Prove us doubters wrong in the tournament. I have little faith in him because facts and history are just that. With that being said I’ll be there all tournament long, as usual, win or lose. Should be a competitive one

    Mid-year update on recruits

I feel like fobbs is better overall than Zane. Better defender. Way better rebounder. More coachable and better teammate. Can Solomon, victor and Charles give more than frosh Charles, Dennis And sanders? Probably

    JMU II preview

Not sure how it’s confusing. NE is a better team and had had very bad luck this year. Charleston is a one man show. Just happens that they had the best shooting day of their lives against us

MBB beats up on JMU 63-48

Didn’t watch this one but looks like a hell of a defensive and rebounding effort against a long bad shooting team. Finally won in a place we don’t win!! Keep stacking wins. Just wish we would have won the Charleston game

    MBB beats Regent 71-55 (story)

Well obviously. But if Sanders/Tunstall get into foul trouble it limits what they can do. Grays loss also hurts late in games. When you can go Fobbs, Gibson, Betrand, Gray out there thats 4 80% + FT shooters.

    MBB beats Regent 71-55 (story)

Or Saturday against Wilson, who is a load to handle. Big's need to stay out of foul trouble. I think you can say that about most of Pat's players recently. I think Dottin is a great bench player for 10-12 MPG. He can play good defense, rebound, and pass pretty well and brings energy. His offensive game is just limited. Hoping he can start to finish better on drives in the future, as he can get to the rim pretty easily. But his value is more than stats, he is always high-fiving people on the bench, rarely sulks when taken out, and when he is on the bench helps them out, by yelling out position, time on shot clock, etc.

Let’s delete this thread and pretend this game ever happened. Embarrassing to have a game like this close. Grays injury really hurts as we are down to 8 and just 3 bigs

Betrand leads MBB over Drexel 76-69

It is. Good point with the walls behind the hoops and like 3 rows of concert risers behind them. Also weird that you need to come down stairs in the middle of the crowd from the locker rooms. Even the win we had was a late come from behind tight win with Benimon. Crazy thing is everyone we had a lead at some point in the second half, minus the one where Pat benched all of the starters and they rarely played. Looking at old games against them, COVER YOUR EYES. 3 Point Shooting % at JMU: 2013- 29.4% 2014- 8.3% (Win) 2015- 18.8% 2016- 10% 2017- 16.7% 2018- 27.8% 2019- 26.7% We did out rebound them in every game though😄

Press Box story on Jason Gibson

Good story. Hoping he can improve from year 1 to year 2. I will say, his defense is more than adequate at his size. He's done a nice job and is particularly good at getting in the right spot and taking charges.

Betrand leads MBB over Drexel 76-69

TSU, exactly. I read wm board and the old needs were planning where to have their selection Sunday party on campus. This has been a weird caa season but predictable where 6 teams were within 1.5 games going into the weekend. Look at northeasterns raw stars and if you didn’t know any better you’d think they are 2-4 team not 7. Jmu is a must win. A place where we hardly ever win for some reason. Pats 1-7 down there against some not great teams

Betrand leads MBB over Drexel 76-69

I'm actually the great grandson of Dean Smith. All kidding aside, I dominate the boards win or loss. Last 5 victory threads 7 of 21, 11 of 38, 5 of 22, 3 of 14 and 8 of 25 posts. The 3 post one was from one I didn't watch. So your statement is beyond false. For as much as I rip Skerry and his staff, I do give them credit when its due. The adjustments made at half against Drexel worked. Drexel also could have won this game if they didn't get away from feeding Butler. We had foul trouble (and a shorter bench of bigs) in the first half and he could have compounded that by getting the ball early in the second half. Any basketball person could have seen that, as the entire Towson section was also pointing that out (along with the suspect officiating. Glad Drexel finally got a football team!) Again, you can all rag on me all you want, and I continue to criticize the staff of this program as I see fit. They have not won anything to earn the benefit of the doubt. Will they this year? Probably not, but I would love for them to prove me wrong. There might not be a bigger TU hoops fan than I am and would love for them to win 3 in a row in March, however if history is any indication, we have a better chance of busing back to Towson on March 8th. It's not going to stop me from going to every home game, half the away games and the tournament every single year.

Betrand leads MBB over Drexel 76-69

I’ll absolutely give him credit for that. Some is also a product of minutes and shots increasing. Hopefully ab gets better year to year. Mike stayed the same. I’ll give him Benimon and Burwell improving in their sit our year. But for everyone of those you have the McGlynn, alex Thomas. McNeil’s, tj, Eddie Keith etc

Betrand leads MBB over Drexel 76-69

This was a great win. Made the trip to Philly and glad I did. Halftime adjustments by pat were great. Went zone a few possessions out breaks in second half. Also called his timeouts after we scored. The less play calling out of stoppages he does, the better. Betrand had the smoothest, least forced 31 points I’ve seen from a Towson player. Let the game come to him which had to be difficult as 75% of the people I was sitting with were his friends and family. Dennis block late was huge and as much as he’s struggled (saying that nicely) Charles gave them some good second half minutes. Drexel’s coach was awful. He could have easily Won the game by feeding butler more. They didn’t look at him the second half. Him and wynter could have beaten us but instead other dudes were shooting questionable shots. First time to the dac in years. They made some nice renovations. Almost looks like a real gym now. Sort of. I didn’t notice a cast on Howard’s hand but wasn’t really looking. He was walking fine without anything so I would have assumed it was an upper body issue.

MBB falls to Delaware 84-78 (story)

Sad thing is, for how bad we played for a lot of the game, if we played a lick of defense for 2 minutes or so we would have won. 47.4% 46.2% from 3 and 80% from the line, with 11 turnover (a lot were dead-ball ones) is usually good enough to win on the road. Unfortunately they got 17 more FT's and our leading assist man was our starting center. If you aren't getting anything from the 4 spot, please go smaller and more athletic with Timberlake/Dottin in the game.
