Great another Ndsu sdsu champion! MVFC should just move up
-
I don’t disagree on that. But what kind of “challenge”/rivalry game can we create with them?!
-
Are you trying to schedule them?
-
Agree, especially when the one being replaced isn’t really starting caliber. His defense has been fine. He gets some steals and hasn’t hurt us. His shooting % is lower than it should be, from taking a lot ~8-10 late shot clock deep threes. He has shown flashes of breaking down the defense, penetrating and getting to the rim. That’s a useful skill which we haven’t really ever had.

Playing these same teams every year is; boring, brings little value (unless they are competitive and well), and cheap. I’m not originally from the area so I don’t care for the “allure”. This isn’t the big 5 nor will it be. There’s no big team that makes it fun. Crowds don’t show anymore than a regular game. I don’t want nor ever condoned a swac or meac level schedule where we whore ourselves out. Playing a top 25 away is a good experience and 1 is more than enough. But doesn’t tell you much about your team. Neither does the non d1s that we and our league loves so much (they don’t count). I feel the same way about the locals. We need games that help us. Challenges; umass. Robert morris (typically). A 10 schools. Some maacs. Vermont. These teams are more what the caa is than Morgan Coppin etc. one or two is fine (again it saves money and easy for me to attend). But let’s try and get the better locals on the schedule. And to some early 90s folk (don’t worry may not you), who is obsessed with Delaware, wants to call me out, yes I have basketball, college basketball and Towson knowledge. Being a ref gives you a self inflated view point for sure! I know scheduling is tough and it’s a two way street, but other teams do it, we just don’t. Inflate the record off of these games (that don’t count according to some here, or whatever the narrative we are tying to push that day). We wonder why we have no signature wins, when you play 6 games a year against Coppin Morgan Loyola goucher and umbc, doesn’t leave many others. Maybe your beloved penn state, would be brave enough to schedule us?! 😀 see above

May is earning his NIL Bagels this week

I want to add, it was nice seeing Williamson talk to paar and heild when they came in and basically told them they were getting the ball so shoot! We all know how hard the walk ons work and critical of pat waiting too long to put them in blowouts. But for a young player on the court to do that, is a good teammate
-
Great game. Continue to get fat on the very weak teams on a weak schedule. Offense has been great the last two games (the teams we played don’t really try on that end of the court) so it’s a mix of improvement and the opponent. With that said our defense has taken a step back (from our standard) but that again is due to our opponent. Umbc was phenomenal passing today. They didn’t shoot well from three and give 0 effort on the offensive glass. 5 guys in double figures is a rarity so let’s enjoy. Very good team effort as everyone contributed positively. Dont think pat will make a change in the lineup. (Jones for Sulaiman) because he’s superstitious. But he needs to get off the bench sooner and play more.
-
That’s good. Hopefully he can contribute some the next few games and get his feet wet. I think his value will be on defense and another body. Ding

Blakeny hasn’t been doing so hot at odu so that makes us feel a bit better. Maletic is scoring at Toledo? Really? He’s scored as much as Watson and tarke combined
-
But he has gotten there a hell of a lot. Atleast make the first then we can get into our offense
-
I guess they count the games that don’t count… if you want to bet on tomorrow, tigers are 4-0 with 2012 in attendance this year, 0-5 without 2012..

He’s a proven winner and 6 games into his second year… lol. Umass isn’t 90s Umass. Since Cal left they are 28 games over 500… -

Sheesh, yup. Big reason we are still just happy to middle of the pack in a weak, dying conference -

A trophy for playing UMBC?!? -
I think you are crazy no matter what 😆. Free throws are easy to work on and not enough to do, that we agree on. But the difference in shooting 64% and 70% is marginal. Much rather shoot 35% from three. Analytics. We just beat a UMASS team playing 4 freshman 77 minutes in their first collegiate road game. They were better than the other teams we’ve beat but that’s not saying much as the other 3 combined for 2 total wins going into last night!!! most of your posts make me chuckle, which is needed around here. Keep dreaming and maybe one day it will come true. It’s more out of necessity. He’s stubborn and typically doesn’t. But they have shown flashes which is good
-
What?! Currently we average 20 attempts with 13 makes a game. If you want us to shoot 70%,. That would be a 14 for 20 average. One point isn’t going to be the difference in a win or loss in 95% of our games. Sorry, but there are much more important things to work on

Lol Tim Kelly is always an interesting ref. Didn’t feel like the game was that physical but they called everything the second half. That kind of plays into our hands. Not sure why Frank benched the kid who was lighting us up in the first half (did foul May on a 3), but I am thankful he did! the fact that this may have been the “best/biggest” game in 13 years is just sad. Umass is in the A10 yes. But they are bottom 1/3 team with a lot of young players (like us). We are now 1-3 this season against teams that we should be competing with williamson made some ridiculously bad passes that had to give pat numerous heart attacks. 2-3 actually worked out in our favor. It’s nice to get a lucky bounce once in a while. Now his driving was phenomenal. not sure we have seen anyone breakdown a defense and get to the rim like that (well in tiger uniform at least haha). If he can continue with that, it’ll help immensely. That’s the important thing -
Not the same but for us, and our paltry standards I guess it is!

Get Coleman going where? What school? In all seriousness this was a good win. Ugly (refs doing) but that helped us in second half. Because we weren’t stopping anyone. Would like the older guys to step up and be more consistent because May and Williamson aren’t going to have games like this all the time. But neither it Tejada. There’s tape on him now so coaches are adjusting. Think we are going to be decent at home and struggle mightily away
