Eh. There were a couple a few years ago that kept us in the hunt going into the last weekend for a top 2/3 seed benimon and co senior night was probably the biggest. Beat any on national tv in front of almost a packed house.

18 and 19 but not too much of a difference. You have to look at the league vs a one bid league. There isn’t a vermont, Loyola Chicago, Wichita state or Ndsu here. Every program currently in the league has won the CAAT Besides the tribe, Elon and ourselves. While all 9 others have played in at least 1 title game. The chances have been there. shaver getting canned, looking back now, was obviously a mistake The ad was overzealous Tony had a decent system and program going but after 12+ years they had enough. WM obviously is much different than we are..

We would like need to be top 45 at least to get an auto bid (most teams). Just playing a caa schedule with some low ranked teams, even with wins, we wouldn’t rise much. Now if the teams we played ooc were good that’s another story. But there aren’t many winning records currently

That was an ugly grind it out win. Cam looks a little tired out there. Gray was phenomenal
-
If we beat Ohio state or USF and went 16-2 likely wouldn’t be enough. Net and tiger Rankings will fall even with wins in caa play
-
Depends. If we are one seed and lose to a worse team in the final, that isn’t a success. But if we are say a 5 seed and make a run to the finals, then yes it would be a success.

Both good points. The goal should and always be to make the tournament. Our ooc was good. The strength of schedule was meh (185ish of 356). But we did win and compete on the road which is big. Only navy has more road wins this season. until last year the caa tournament hasn’t really been a crapshoot. 1-3 seeds have won it like 95% of the time. We have been awful in March and some were embarrassingly so. We haven’t played as the 8 seed vs the 1. The seeding was close and or in favor and we have yaked on ourselves. Sad thing is that we were closer to the ncaat my freshman year when we were down 2 or 3 with about 2.5 left and cam long hit a step back three with the shot clock expiring. That was a great run from a bad team. But seeing that dagger first hand in the colosseum still hurts

Some believe the steps are built already. As pessimistic as I am, I can agree a bit. Arena, good students who graduate, community service etc. the last thing to do is win. It’s beyond time to do so. A decade and being the second longest tenured coach in the league, it’s time. March hasn’t been kind. But it hasn’t be a fluke. We got pretty bad in a lot of the games. most coaches win and then move on the mid major level. Ours has won a bit but never anything of value and is still here. With the caa letting in a ton of teams we now have a bigger crapshoot for the the bid than before.

You guys beat me to it. 12 hoops teams means tougher to get the 1 bid. 14 even more so. 10 and 12 I feel like are good number especially for the tournament and league play. Balanced but I am for full members. Not some sports in some out. Stony Brook does help with other sports
-
Amen!
-
Haha. I am for now. March is something different. Close games late with this staff will always scare me. But winning two very different style games on the road in a 50 hour window without a few players is impressive
-
They were the best option available. Who does the league add in the north for a travel partner for NE? Who gets the invite in VA/NC/SC
-
2. Georgia and Connecticut. Unless you count lacrosse since Fairfield is (or was) in the caa
-
I know that pained you to say that! Haha. Next 6 are huge especially with 5 at home. 4-2 would be nice but in the end it’s all for naught unless they can do something in March
-
Monmouth officially in the Caa all sports https://www.nj.com/setonhall/2022/01/monmouth-is-leaving-maac-big-south-for-colonial-athletic-association.html

Yeah that team was also good. They just started slow. Like you said, there is a lot of season left including 4 road games that we haven’t had much success in
-
CAA off to a slow start So far. Only 2 d 1 wins, us and Charleston. Hofstra yaked up a lead late against ranked Houston without jalen ray. 12+ non d1 games on the docket. Not good for the league at all. Thankfully we don’t play any
-
It’s not over yet but 13-14 would like a word
-
Another nice road win. Offense was clicking. Nice to see nick do something in garbage time hopefully that gets him going. Always nice to beat Wm and their old smug fans Need to defend the threes better and box out. Next two games are going to be tough. Hope Thursday Jmu takes Uncw to 5 OT. They win tonight on turning Charleston over.
-
0-12 then 2-1 in caa play. All 3 league games have been tight
-
Yeah. Would have to guess that all 3 are out again tonight
-
Yeah it is. Not sure Vegas knows we are down to 5-6 players at the moment haha
-
Get the comparison but there are lots of big differences. uncc has about 6,500 more undergrads, more in state %, 53-47 male to female ratio. Also take in account football is much bigger in NC than MD and their stadium is much more accessible than Unitas

With 5 players and some of them Shaky at best. That was gutty especially after giving up the 9 point lead late. Holden is a warrior
