Big game Saturday. A swing game; either we go on the road over .500 in conference, on a 4-game winning streak or we go in the road under .500 in conference.

Would love to roll into W&M at 5-3, but got to handle business vs JMU & Elon 1st.

JMU is 1-5 in conference (beating only UNCW) & also lost at home to Coppin by 16. There 2 leading scorers average a combined 31ppg, but both shoot under 40%.  They also have a 6’8 250 lb guy (Wilson) who averages 11ppg & 11 boards, so they have some talent.

Swing game, Towson, things going ok?  Let down time.  Jmu is tough for us and always has been even when we had Benimon.

Got to think the Dukes are playing for their coaches job. Elon Uncwx2, WM, Drexel, jmu x2 maybe, Delaware

winning in the CAA matters for 9 of the 10 schools ..

In the post game questions, it was asked what changed this week From last and one of skerry’s answers was defense. I’m sorry but he has to stop beating only this drum. This team played defense last week, but just could not score worth a shit because no one moved the ball and they didn’t push the tempo.

LOL. Exactly. Against "3 really good teams that we can't complete with:"

    42.4%, 34.4% from 3, 7.6 offensive rebounds allowed/ game, 7.7 TO forced/game

where as against a really bad team and 2 decent ones:

    41.3%, 33.8% from 3, 10 offensive rebounds allowed/ game, 11.7 TO forced/game.

Scoring more, breaking the press and actually attacked, forcing live ball turnovers and shooting better are the reasons.

  3. Great win. Everyone contributed.  First half was probably better than Thursday. Delaware’s 1-5 is solid. They have no depth though and we took advantage.

Extra passes and moving the ball was key. If it’s not stuck on a player we actually get good looks.  Broke the press and went to attack again. Shot good from the ft line.

defended darling really well and didn’t get sucked into the chippyness that they play.

"Southpaws are gonna southpaw" is a hilarious comment !, and seems to be true.  I didnt really see Zane Martin like you guys, but seems like he had the same ("i'll save my Right for the hand-shake line") type game.  Great win (and cover!!!!) but id imagine Delaware will be a bit closer.  Record looks good, but they didnt play who we played.  I'd be curious if anyone saw/has any idea if their 8pt loss to Villanova was really a close game or not????    fingas crossed for a winner-winner, bluehen dinner

It was neutral site at Prudential Center. Delaware was in the game, but it was never a threat to NOVA. It was 6-10 for most of the game. Darling shot lights out. Hens bench got out scored 18-2 and they had 2 players go all 40.  They lack a bench. One of their 3 transfers, UAB, Campbell, Villanova, just became eligible end of 2019 and is their one dude off the bench.

Fobbs drives me crazy but at least he goes right and dribbles with his right hand. He just doesn’t finish with it. John Davis used the same spin move in the post hundreds of times and shot left handed. He never used his right hand but most couldn’t stop it. It’s a little different on drives and I’ve seen him brick a few layups. I’ve also seen him finish with the right hand in practice but doesn’t do it in games. Betrand finished nicely with the left hand last night. Southpaws are gonna southpaw.

Yeah, How angry must coaches have been with their players guarding JD. Scouting reports had to have been, "Right Shoulder Right Shoulder Right Shoulder. Don't fall for the spin to the paint!" Every-time he got his shot off.

Brian's just odd in that he wont use his right hand for a layup at all. Watch a lot of hoops and its very very rare.

Loved our pace last night as other have mentioned.  Could this finally be a philosophy change or was it just the game plan for Drexel?  I hope seeing the results of getting these guys moving open some eyes as to how the team should play moving forward.

Hopefully it is. But, you need to make them miss and get rebounds in order to push tempo. Its much easier getting out and running when at home.  Delaware plays 6 guys, so we should try and out again and get them into some foul trouble.

First half was the best half of the season.  It certainly helped that the shots were dropping from the outside but we took smart shots, we moved the ball on offense and were getting layups and stuff at the rim, and we actually pushed the pace.  I found myself yelling at the TV after rebounds to 'GOOOOO' and beat Drexel down the court.  These guys are athletes and they look like they really wanted to run so let's not hold them back.  Tonight, it worked really well.  Betrand is looking so much better with his shot and you can see that his confidence has grown over the last month.  He and Fobbs could be a real dynamic duo the rest of the way.

We will go as far as those two can take us. Can I donate my right hand to Brian??!! Seriously even on open layups he goes "backhanded" with his left. It's crazy. He was making them last night, still just very odd how reluctant he is to use his right hand.

Drexel is still Drexel and haven't won a road game in almost a year. They took care of business. Now lets bring the same energy on Saturday!

  8. The first half and 5 of the second half was the best we have played in a long time. I’m talking since Benimon.  Got sloppy with all of the breaks in the second half.

Whens the last time we had 2 players 20+ in a game?!  Gibson and Thompson played much better than in the past. CT had a great game and didn’t get absolutely embarrassed on defense like the past 15 games. Yes butler isn’t athletic but has some nice moves.

Loved the passing and unselfish play in the first half. Pat yelling “stop” on a miss when we have numbers is INFURIATING. thankfully we are on the part of the season where the players don’t listen. Like dottin getting in on the defense boards. a small lineup of him Gibson fobbs ab and a big would be nice.

Drexel 2,3,5 is awful and one of the worst team on the road. Which means a good matchup for us.

Only two negatives, fobbs ft shooting tonight. Timberlake looked out of it and was lost (putting it nicely) on defense

As dreadful as this season has been and as much as I rail against Pat Skerry, my 5yr old daughter and I will be in front of the TV tonight, in our Towson basketball jerseys, cheering on the Tigers.

As much as we all want to win and as bad as the season and 20 plus years have been, we are all tiger fans. Despite the name calling and bickering we are 20-30 of the most 50 die hard fans and supporters out there.

Hopefully your daughter had a good time and got to meet Doc

This is incredibly dumb on so many levels.  Why bother with this?  Are we paying for Regent's travel?  That's dumb.  Do we really think that people are going to show up for a Wednesday night game against a college CYO team and that will offset the cost of everything involved?  We're much better just having the extra practice time and not risking any sort of on-court injury.  But hey, the walk-ons will get to play.

Agreed. WTH?? I've missed 1 home game this last 3.5 seasons and really have to question going to this one.  Is it free to attend? Do my season tickets get me in?

i believe Skerry gets a bonus per win after reaching a certain amount of wins per year?

They are 0-21 in their last two seasons with 5+ cancellations..  I hope he doesn't, this is embarrassing.

    Sorry for the negativity everyone!
