Delaware win was very good & very necessary. Question now becomes can we steal a W on the road vs SB, who will be equally desperate as us for a W. What’s Stony Brook’s offense like? For that matter, what about their D?

It’s a good win. 1 down 3 to go to maybe squeak into the playoffs. Can I talk playoffs hear since it’s not Delaware? But one auto bid was likely stolen today. Big south probably (shouldn’t)gets 2 in. Monmouth beat top 4 and media darling Kennesaw today, pretty much clinching the auto bid.

While I agree attendance should be better I don’t really know what is supposed to be done? Historically students have been apathetic to come to games and I’m not totally sure how to change it.

There are so many options of things to do and so many transplants in the area that it’s tough to get buy in. Aside from the fact that the Rodgers Fordge crew resents Towson more than support them.

It’s status quo in the department; from AD, to coaches/staffs, marketing, fundraising, broadcasters etc.  they are either way over the head, clueless, stale or shouldn’t have been in that job to begin with

When rob came to Towson he brought a swagger and shot in the arm and energy. That’s gone.

Waddell and west brought energy and decent crowds but was that just to winning? Maybe?

Something has to change. They really as clueless.  Stop the stupid theme games that are repetitive. Why aren’t they doing young alumni tickets. 100 bucks for 2 football and 2 hoops tickets for each game.

Also I’ve had season tickets for football for a few years. The last 2 I haven’t received anything in the mail about renewal, plans etc. and haven’t renewed. Just go on a game by game basis.  the same for hoops. I had to call them numerous times to renew my tickets that I’ve had since secu opened. And guess what, the season opens next week and no ticket booklets yet. What do Tim and Dan do all day?!  They don’t ask about tiger athletic fund either. You would think anyone whose ever done sales or marketing would ask about that too. You know an alum, giver in the past, season ticket holder, let’s inquiry.

It isn’t just me. Other friends that alum don’t receive anything either. It’s truly a joke and a clown show over there.

An open forum is really needed as overall we on here have much better ideas to improve everything in athletics

Attendance sucked but not surprising. Hundreds of students were in the parking lot in the first quarter and Delaware doesn't bring many fans anymore. Maybe they had a few hundred. Yes, we are a pro area. Were the people from the DMV at the Nats' parade? (we should steal their slogan "stay in the fight".) Getting ready for Ravens Sunday night game? Who knows but losing games to Albany and Nova were crushing to the attendance.

They were getting ready for hoops home opener

Attendance is an issue. The school needs to do better. Other programs are in “pro sports towns” with 4 sports not 1 and draw better than us.  I feel like is sort of true but also a lazy excuse (not on your part mat. But overall). What pro sports were playing today?  We aren’t trying to fill 20k seat stadium but 8500+ on a nice fall day, against a local rival, for an above average team, with 20K students, isn’t asking to much

It would be inconceivable that we wouldn’t make playoffs at 8-4, assuming we get to 8-4. I haven’t done the research, but I’m highly skeptical there’s any precedent for an 8-win team not getting in. The problem with Richmond & UNH winning is that it might eliminate any remote chance we have of getting in at 7-5.

Much as today’s game was a playoff elimination game, so too will be next  Saturday’s game vs Stony Brook.

They have beaten good/decent teams this year. Our best win is citadel? There just isn’t a signature win right now.   Name recognition goes a long way too.

Also, I got roasted on here last season for complaining about not being ranked a few weeks in and then not gettin respect.  If we didn’t start top 10 preseason. Do you really think this 4-4 team would have a 21 ranking?

Yeah, it must suck to love football. You love taking shots at people. You can't just disagree without doing so. I would never say "those stupid effing Millenials", just because I disagree with somebody.

You know what everyone,I was wrong, Toms going to the be the next Tom Brady.  Rob will be next Nick Saban.  Better?

I’m just stating that you, who is heavily involved with the program, and b lounge who is a player coach or someone “close” to the program also, are looking through black and gold colored glasses. Just like I look through pessimistic ones. He’s already older than atleast half of the nfl qbs (some may see this as beneficial some may not)

Sorry for the shot. Again, I hope he makes it if he wants to play, but expectations imo are very low.

I spoke with an NFL front office administrator who said the opposite.  They know he can play multiple positions and that is a huge asset for him.  $ talk and BS is BS. Teams won’t spend the money to send Scouts in at this time of the year unless he’s real.

I don’t agree with you or mat on this one. Or you nfl scout source. But that’s what makes this site great differing opinions.

The football lovers will say anything to support the team and coach no matter what

This is not a negative question as I am thankful that TF is our quarterback.  He has done some great things in his season plus and hope he finishes the season strong.  It is not his fault that his brother is a veteran Super Bowl winning QB (regardless of what people think of his skills now) and a lot in life is not what you know its who you know but my question is if Tom's last name was say Flanagan instead of Flacco is he getting the same looks from scouts?

No he wouldn't. It would be cool for a Towson grad to make it in the NFL at a premier position. But the Taysom Hill comparison is off (except for both being old entering the NFL), I just don't see him tackling people on ST, lining up FB, RB, WR, TE and blocking on FGs/XPs.  Teams aren't going waste 1 of their 53 spots on a "3rd QB" who can do gadget plays but probably not much else. Sorry!

Eventually you have to put a game together and not have any excuses.  If there were a game, this is it.  The biggest disappointment this year, IMO is our offense.  TF is only having an OK year.  Yes he has to run for his life sometimes, but that is part of his game.  He is supposed to have the skill of running for his life over and over and making that little pitch throw, or picking up 15 yards on the ground several times on 3rd down.  For the most part our O line has been intact, which makes our offense even more disappointing this year.

The loss of Shane Simpson was a huge loss, but just highlights the unrealistic position RA expected.  Last year was just a fluke that Shane could stay healthy.  That was a first.  You cannot feature Shane.  It is just silly to expect that he can return kicks and be an every down back.  There is just no depth at RB and it shows.  We get no respect with our run and then each and every team T's off on Flacco for all 4 quarters.  There is no way to stop this mentality even if Flacco makes a big play because the other team just does not believe Flacco can consistently make plays against the rush.  So far our opponents have been right.

Delaware will be no different.  Tommy either beats them and outscores them or we do not win.

    Well said.  But Shane is an All American kick returner and you need him back there and not worry about injuries! {sarcasm}

I wonder if we have a defense that can stop Little Brother's attack.

Delaware has scored a lot in some games and not others. They have given up a lot in some and then hold Pitt to 17. Tough team to figure out.

But with a loss, Rocco, with a WINNING record, may be canned sooner than later.

Not much research put into that ranking (as with many).  UMBC dreams night and day of beating us and Navy (I believe) won't play us.

This.  UMBC in their last two years, has had their best two seasons ever, and got blown out in one and lost at home in another game against us.

Also they play 4!!! 4, games against non D1's this year. That's up from their typical 3/ year. Odom sure knows how to schedule..

Noticed on GW boards we actually have a way better RPI.. lol if I read it correctly didnt cross reference online yet

GW, Ken State, Cornell, Liberty are all going to be solid games which should be close and help us down the road.  The Vermont one would be a very nice win to have.  Veteran team, NBA prospect and few P5 grad transfers

It's sort of sad. He's always posting about making back to the NFL and that's obviously not happening. He posted a week or so ago about getting an XFL contract, but I haven't seen or heard anything else about it.

Does he get a portion of Rob's contract extension, that he (and the offensive line, happy?!) earned for him??...😏

I mentioned this on another thread, but here it is again: Henderson, Delaware's dual-threat QB, has been out for a while, so we may see Kehoe again. He lit up our No. 25 last year, so I suspect that's who he'll go after again. Let's hope our coaches have some changes in mind to address that weakness.

He had all day to throw.  Just stood in the pocket and floated pass after pass to Invincible Jr. Playing 10-15 yards off WR's makes it nice an easy.
