Elon’s gym fits 1750 maybe. It’s like a church inside

I used to hear “the number of students who live on campus is growing, & that will turn the tide.” To that I respectfully say BS. It’s like the people who claim all the kids playing youth soccer ⚽️ will eventually make the U.S. relevant in men’s soccer, and it never happens. At its core, TU remains a commuter school with apathetic students who care not a whit about TU sports
Ne is a hockey school. Uncw is the 4th/5th best school in the bc state system. Hofstra is a commuter school in a major market. Drexel 6th best school in a major market. Wm here bdersd with higher academic standards. Jmu is literally a rest stop school.
Excuses are just that. The people on here obviously care and are few and far between but the acceptance of status quo is ridiculous.
We also have zero marketing. We have commercials on 105.7 for road games hoops and football... no giveaways for fans and students. They also beg for football attendance with 5 buck tickets. Why would anyone shell out for season tickets
-
Hahaha so like football? Any other school in the caa Ambrose would already have been out on his ass.
I like pat. He is a genuine guy and isn’t a fake smoker blower like some. But come on. Zero. None zilch caa champ appearances. With 3 tournaments in his backyard. Fan support is an excuse. And a shitty one at that. Look at northeastern
next question, and it won’t be popular here, when does Tim Leonard and his extreme failures get on the hot seat? TU athletics has gone south under him. He passs our contract extensions like candy
-
Interesting group of teams.. has a mix of academics, making tournament and playing in a top mid major
again freshman don’t play much under skerry my expectations are tempered
-
Guards guards guards. Ones that control the game and pace. We can load up on bruisers and forwards all we want. It will not translate into winning the caa. I just don’t see us getting to many of those types of players, they don’t fit the skerryball strategy
watching Uncw last night and if we had Jordan Talley on our team... senior, leader, tough, level headed and had complete control of his team and everything on the court. Maybe 4 years from now we will have one

Just now, mat1992 said:I don't know what the point is of this thread.
It’s that he has been given way more than any coach in Towson history and as much or More than any other in Caa has nothing to show for it.
i don’t know about the rest of you but lack of success in my job would result in firing...

23 minutes ago, mat1992 said:They did not win at all. Erricker? He never won anything. They brought in Jackson and he won the CAA in the second year.Gottlieb was there forever and had some good years. How many titles has Tony Shaver won but he's been there for 13 or 14 years.
How many caa title games has he atleast played for?! Apples and oranges. he is hand tied like Cohen at Ne
resources.facilities. Recruitment. Sorry skerry has every single advantage over vcu odu maskn and ga state less caa.

I think Pat has had some teams that are close to getting to the NCAA tourney, but I think most of his teams have lacked a go to threat on offense. Benimon was probably his one star of note from his tenure so far, but they got upset by W&M in his final season.
Zane had a very high PPG this season, but I think it was partially due to there being no one else to compensate for some scoring.
I am really looking for to seeing Gorham continue to grow, and to see the two big men fill in the depth chart (Solomon and Duquense transfer).
It's the offseason that will decide the rest of the fate for next season. Have to find some guards.
I think PS knows that he isn't going to be able to get top recruits to Towson, so the transfers are the key to Rating his offseason.
He's got to go scrap for some gems.
Close? HahahahahahahahHhaahahh
Comeback when we are 40 minutes from the promised land

21 minutes ago, TSU88 said:We were at rock bottom when this Pat took over for the last Pat. Unarguably, Skerry raised us, metaphorically, from the dead. But,with each passing season that ends in frustration & disappointment, the question becomes has he hit a plateau? Since he ain’t going anywhere, I guess we have a number more years to find out the answer to that question. However, after 7 years, I don’t believe it is being knee jerk to wonder if he’s ever going to win the regular season and:or the conference tournament.
Ding. We are two of the best players in conference history (West and Benimon) from being back where we started.
Caa tournament loses As 2 vs 3, 9 vs 8. 3 vs 6 all at home. Blown out today. Pats a nice guy as is Tim. It’s time to win something meaningful

1 minute ago, mat1992 said:BS. Not when you have 15 straight losing seasons. If he was replacing Truax, I would have agreed with you. He replaced PK, who replaced Hunt, who replaced Jazz, who replaced Truax. The bar was extremely low. We were arguably the worst program in the nation or bottom 10 at best before he arrived.
Understood. He has instilled a culture. But it’s past him now. Let’s not pretend that he hasn’t had every adavantage in his pocket. When we go 14-17 next year the apologists will still be here.
-
He’s the third most senior coach in the conference. Two time player of the year. 3 times tournament in his backyard.Nada to show for it
let’s face it. With a real AD and more than 10 fans who gave a ratS ass he would be canned

6 minutes ago, AtlantaTiger said:First, I hate to say “I told you so”, but I did call for an 80-67 Tribe win, 10 minutes before tip, on an earlier forum topic. Missed by 1!
Look, this team had ZERO leadership on the floor the entire season. Today looked like they were playing a pickup game at the local YMCA. No semblance of an offense...just chuck it up. Here’s hoping that the 2018-19 squad is much hungrier and much smarter.
When has a skerry team done that. We Will be lucky to fnish bettee than 8th next season. It’s towson who cares? No one here does
-
25 minutes ago, tualum said:Why bring up this topic again? He isn't going anywhere and this is who we are. An average to sometimes below average squad. Most took the kool aid from that 10-1 start besides myself and maybe one other. Will be having the same discussion this time next year and beyond until his contract ends. Decent recruiter with the exception of a point guard and poor Xs and Os guy. His ability to lead and motivate is highly suspect. But again, no choice but to embrace it. Skerry ball lives on....
I for one never took the koolaid. Caa is not what it once was. Jeez Kennedy could avoid play in game these days.
How much is Leonard to blame?? He has Passed out extensions like candy. We shouldn’t be bottom third in football or men’s hoops but we are since he’s got there.
I love graduating players and them becoming good members of society but we are the only program save for Elon (who will fire their coach) to not make a Caa championship game
-
Everyone here hates me already but 60 points against wm?! My god it’s time for a change. 2-4 in caa tournament?
if we are ever serious about sports we Give him high five and walk away
-
Rotate Richmond Baltimore and Charleston
-
Not a bad choice facility wise. Very similar to n Charleston Coliseum but it wouldn’t draw at all. Delaware would be the closest with best attendance if they are decent. They had a little pocket of 100-150 last night
But travel would be a nightmare for some Fans. No airport/train
-
6-9k arena is ideal. Curtains here in Charleston make it look better but still.
Hey we are 8-6 against teams left here!
-
Arena and area around here isn’t bad but you’re a 3 hour drive from the next closest school, Uncw, which in my guess will play against Charleston on Tuesday
problem is the conference os volatile on winning teams. Uncw and wm have the best fans for hoops and it isn’t close irregardless of where it is and seed . Virginia Beach norfolk area?
if it goes north of Baltimore the “neutral” site dies shortly after
-
Hopefully not. Some pretty bad shooting in game 1 Drexel jmu, bigger empty arena may help us but who knows. All the fans there, wm and c of c will be against us. Key is getting knight into early foul trouble
-
only real disagreement anyone can have is seibring, especially on the 2nd team!? Eli Pemberton is a much better player and plays for a better team

7 minutes ago, mat1992 said:No way Drexel gets two players on all Defensive team. They gave up 80 points per game! I like Shawn Occeus from NE. That was a tough vote considering nobody aside from Charleston and NE plays D. People that vote Gustys on all-defensive team should get their vote stripped or are the same people that voted JB all-defense. Morsell might get third team based on rep and name. I think Gorham has a shot for Sixth Man of the Year even though he started the last few weeks.
Forgot about occeus, so I'll replace him for Gustys. I know it is crazy, and not disagreeing with you, but it wouldnt surprise me if Gustys is put on it. He was in 2015.
Drexel sucks at defense, but Isabell is what 6'1"? and he is 6th in rebounds per game at 7.3 and has the 5th most rebounds overall in the CAA, also throw in 7th in steals. Williams is their anchor and 5th in rebounds per game and top in blocks. Once he left the game at their place we went wild on offense.

Started this thread 2 weeks ago but it got deleted.. Give me your best guesses on ALL CAA teams. (no positions)
1st- JWF (HOF), Cacock( (UNCW), Riller (C OF C), Chealey (C OF C), Puscia (NE)
2nd- Martin, Cohn (WM), Brantley (C OF C), Knight (WM), Isabell (Drexel)
3rd- Pemberton (HOF), Gustys (HOF), Daly (DE), Mosley (JMU), Talley (UNCW)
Just Missed- Pearce (WM), Morsell, Seibring (Elon)
POTY- JWF, but I am hearing Puscia is the winner (Riller is my favorite, the last 8 games he has been playing on another planet)
Rookie- Allen (DE), Lewis (JMU), Banks (JMU), Murphy (NE), Ray (HOF)
ROTY- Allen
Defense- Williams (Drexel), Isabell, Cacock, Brantley, Gustys (CAA loves rebound stats for D, even though Gustys has not played a lick of D in 4 years)
DPOTY- Williams
COTY- Bill Cohen (NE) close second Tony Schaefer (WM)

2 hours ago, sr16 said:is wm the favorite sunday? or us? they have the higher seed but we're 2-0
no line yet. probably wont open until saturday. "Neutral site" Wm will have 1,200-2,000 there to our 50, along with a hot team vs cold team, I say WM -3.5. If Starr is a no go maybe 5.5 but vegas seems to love us for whatever reason
Skerry time to go?

It’s marketing. Get frats and sororities involved. Have a half court shot for 10k or free room and board. When they move back in have a parents get in free day. Free food and drinks and shirts. It doesn’t matter. First two years of secu student showed well.
Doesn’t hurt to upgrade concessions and advertise that we sell beer (affordable) at games
