this happened a few years ago too. we have a nice team in place.

    Interesting team stats

Mat, we've been around long enough to know that none of that works even if it does for a minute. I love this place, watching my students do well, but eventually we gotta own up to the fact that we could have kept the Towson Center, upgraded it for the original $5mil it was gonna cost and saved the rest of the students money since Gary Neale's squad in 06 outdrew most of the SECU teams. That being written this team is kind of fun for being so unsuccessful most of the time.

    No press conference but.....

Some of these questions, while funny/important, can't be answered by Rob. The athletic department and institution have to work deals with Black and Gold, liquor licensure, current sponsors, and so on. TV deal is out of Rob's realm of responsibility that's on the AD and his Assistants, plus the Commissioner of the CAA. Europe was done on the cheap, and, from an athletics standpoint, since this is Towson we've gotta do it before other schools start to. Not saying it was perfect, but I know of many other ways this school blows a couple grand to return less than what Gus did. Plus it got covered by some national news organizations (not trying to overestimate the ROI on the trip, but it is a positive story on Towson). Will it bring in new recruits? Maybe, you know how this trip literally pays for itself several times over? If some non-athlete in Europe comes and pays full sticker price to attend this school as an international student, simply because (s)he saw Gus with his TU gear and they heard of a school they never had before. The institution can then use that result to show that "we are more diverse than ever" and boast about how we are drawing more international students here. The endgame of this trip is bigger than football is what I'm saying. My questions regarding football are what's the deal with the O-line? Not only losing a couple starters but possibly 3 of the smartest players the team has had from an educational standpoint in years (Zane and Nico are actually doing and presenting academic research at regional and national conferences). What are the plans with the new transfer we got from USC?

    5 stages of grief...

so what you're saying is that we have like the 2000th best 3-point shooters between the ages of 17-24 in the country?

    Needs for next season

from my "insider" knowledge Rob often tells Jammer to fuck off and does his own play

MBB downs Loyola, 85-69 (story up)

fun game...tiger sportsed out for a bit after these last two days. Nice to see two of mine (Howard and Fobbs) play well, and will give them a shoutout in class.

    Thanks Everybody

Mat, it has been a long road but I do appreciate the work you do, and had a blast following this year's team. As a Brewers fan I have learned to enjoy the journey more than any end destination that it may bring. Hopefully next year's is longer than this one.

WE need everyone to come to the TU Duquesne game

Here's a popular source article on the process. https://www.houmatoday.com/sports/20181117/nicholls-makes-aggressive-bid-to-host-fcs-playoffs-for-second-straight-year I believe that means we guarantee the non-profit NCAA that they will make at least $30k for the privilege of hosting a game at our facility with their pricing structure. Here's some of what happened in 2011 https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/college/football/bs-sp-towson-football-playoff-1203-20111202-11-story.html, https://towsontigers.com/news/2011/12/3/Towson_Lehigh_Football_Game_Is_Sold_Out.aspx?path=football,

WE need everyone to come to the TU Duquesne game

That's the rub though this is an NCAA event not a Towson event. The only reason we sold out in 2011 was that we had Waddell convince a lame duck interim-prez to subsidize the tickets to students through the SGA. So if Towson gave the tix away then they would technically owe the NCAA.

WE need everyone to come to the TU Duquesne game

Missed one home game in 4 years until this one...had to caddie for my son's golf league, but we followed along weekly. Made this game, and it was fun but a bummer. Wife is working next Saturday so what better to do but add four to attendance?

    Playoffs?

TOWSON 41, ELON 10 (story up)

The best part of all of this is that it's not like the teams we are hoping to hop if things go wrong draw better than us. Maybe the committee will actually look at merit this time around.
