I think I've calmed down a bit. Did anyone realistically think we would be better than 2-2 after this weekend? UNH doesn't play Delaware or Nova this year like us. They could end up a 2 loss season, Pitt and Purple. I'm not saying I'm ecstatic about the season so far, but I might think I'm over reacting.

How was the connection made to football?

#14 is not the answer. You'd think a journeyman playoff seasoned QB would know when to throw the ball away. HFS!

I would say at least 1/3 of the crowd was NDSU fans. 1/3 students. I walked out before halftime. The safety was just too much. I told the Bison fan next to me that the interception was not a good thing at all that deep in our own territory. If you asked me what I thought that night, I would have said, the team should be disbanded. After calming down, I think I was just overly hopeful and away from actual football for two seasons. NDSU is really REALLY good. I have some hope of seeing some wins. We don't play Delaware or Nova. I would like to say we could win between SDSU and JMU. But honestly 5.5 is the over/under for wins.

Yeah. Flosports isn't allowing NDSU to broadcast the game in Fargo. Lots of bitching and complaining going on everywhere. Flosports needs to be dropped like a bad habit.

I know a lot of football alumni are showing up for Coach A's celebration. Not that that really projects into total attendance, as its normally parents and alumni that show regularly. My daughter is a freshman and she told me her and her team mates are planning on going. But again, athletic teams support each other as well. Student turn out is dependent on weather and how hard core the police and SAFE lock down the parking lots. Which could be significant, factoring in the over reaction to the shooting a couple weeks ago. I think NDSU will fill their sections. 8-9K '12 predicted sounds good.

I mean, I was assuming this would be football only. The entire athletic program going to the Sunbelt? It's one thing to let football go out and flounder to lose money attempting to get a third tier bowl match up. But having to fly Olympic sports across the country is kinda crazy.

All you have to do is look at Bridgeforth Stadium for your answer. Purple's been looking for a way out since Mickey Matthews.

This. We'll find out this Saturday where this team's heart is vs NDSU. I will forever be hopeful and believe we have a chance to win, vs anyone. But if we lay down and die from the start vs the Bison, in what should be a capacity crowd, I'm not looking forward to being "same old, same old" in week three. Valpo held their own for 10 minutes. VALPO! If they march down on us unimpeded, on Coach A's day, who knows where this goes. I WANT to be hopeful. I WANT to think we have a chance to upset. I WANT our team to show up and beat their ass. I WANT this season to be different. ...but as of 9pm last Saturday night, I'm wavering.

I think the defense really believed this. If youre going to have this attitude, you need to play like you are out to prove something, not like the other team is just going to lay down.

Seems like the defense read too deeply into their Morgan State shut out. New Hampshire was really the season opener and that wasn't stressed to the team at all. We burned the clock and drove down the field to put the score at 7-13 only to just give up a 4 play 30 second touchdown score before halftime. How F'ing utterly demoralizing is that? The interception inside their 20 in the 3rd really was the dagger, and if I recall from the broadcast, it was a fluky off someone's cleat bounce. It happens. But I put this squarely at the feet of the defense, our ballyhooed, FBS transfer laden defense. I do agree with a previous poster who said we are lucky UNH didn't have a good kicker. It would have been very ugly.

That 2012 season ender was an epic ass kicking. And then we took the high hard one the very next day. It still pisses me off. I still believe the '12 team would have given NDSU a better game in the NC than the '13 team.

After watching ESPN+ this past Spring for my oldest daughters Big South wlax games, I thought the football production was pretty good. But that is coming from some games without any sound or horrendous sun glare. It would be nice if most away games were on ESPN+.

I prolly would have waited until they caught the suspected shooter, but yeah. LOL

I can't see Rob leaving for UConn. UConn might drop football outright, again, instead of moving back down to FCS.

I'm hoping for a 2nd to 4th place finish. Barring injury, no way we're in the bottom half.

Maybe, just maybe, old heads like me made such a mark on the sports landscape, they can't help themselves from including the STATE! It's only been 25 years or so, it takes awhile to erase greatness. :)

These pre-season polls and articles are garbage to begin with. With half the teams not having played in the 21 Spring, the writers are even more exposed as know nothings at the I-aa/FCS level. This article is a great example. Same website has Monmouth and VMI in their pre-season top 20.

When my daughters games don't interfere, or COVID, yes. Most home games. We'll meet this fall.

Well, Locksley was a senior my RS Sophmore year. Bolster was a senior my true freshman year, I think. I didn't realize he was a two sport athlete. You know, being a kicker, it didn't cross my mind.
