Fundamentals are terrible.  Quite possibly the worst I have ever seen at the collegiate level. No understanding of how to play the game on offense or defense.  You can see that some of these kids don’t buy in to the scheme or the fact that they have to become more sound on both ends.  AAU ball has ruined the sport.  Never thought I would see a Skerry team so unhinged.  Very disappointing

Funny. After probably the first game I saw with Skerry under the helm I was telling Matt in chat that this team lacks the fundamentals.  Ironically 7+ years later we're talking about the same thing....

    I dont agree here

I agree with him. Someone mentioned Skerry needs to address publicly that he needs to change his style completely. Not sure about that and may be difficult since he's been using the same template for years. It's just who he is. One thing he can change is his recruiting of players. You can't have everyone basically the same playing style. Funny I was thinking about that when I was playing full court the other night with a group of guys (and a lady). Had 2-3 good shooters, a scrapper who gets rebounds, awesome D, etc. in myself and a quality pg. Everything just worked and we just killed the competition. Just common sense honestly. How long has he been here now? Since 2011 or so. Sometimes being at the same place gets you stagnant and you need a change of fresh air. I think it is about that time but unfortunately because of absurd contracts he is stuck. I wouldn't be surprised if he would like to try his luck elsewhere as well.

I would say this. Stick with them. We knew at the beginning of the season that this was going to be a tough year. Sure, if everything went right and we were healthy, maybe close to .500. Well, everything has gone wrong. We're not even defending now at home. We have one consistent scorer and he's slumping. He's putting the ball on the floor and not even recognizing his teammates. He's becoming ZM without as much production. We're also down to nine players, possibly eight if Al Thomas is out for an extended period.

Sorry for everybody that has to bear with this season. It is a bit reminiscent of year one. At least that team brought it defensively and the boards every night. They just didn't have the talent. Now, I'm starting to wonder if this team has any. There's not one player on this team other than Fobbs, and he'd be a No. 2 or No. 3 option on a good CAA team, that could start on another CAA squad. In fact, I don't think most of these guys would even be in the rotation other than all four bigs, who are role players. Not sure what Sanders is but I expected more. But he's a backup for a reason. He was a 20-minute player at Duquesne and not much more than that here.

The hope is that the younger players get better. Teams are catching up with Dottin, Take away his drive and right hand. He's not that explosive so that doesn't help. Solomon? Keep him off the boards. Force him to shoot from outside of 10 feet. I think he shows the most promise. Betrand can't really put the ball on the floor and do much with it. Even if it's garbage time, he's finally making some shots over the last two games. He can in my opinion, eventually become a 3&D guy. Maybe.

I know, there's not much hope out there for next season. Even with Gray, Charles Thompson, another point guard, another combo guard. The staff has got to find somebody who can play the 1 and develop the guys that are returning.

Hmm, wonder who said this before the season started...

Is that a coaching issue, or is the problem the players aren’t listening or are listening, but just aren’t carrying out the instructions for some (inexplicable) reason? I suppose a combination

Mostly coaching but also due to talent that is recruited. Same ole same ole.. Skerry ball baby!!!

Sure man. You see and hear what you want. 8 years and not one kid can average 3.5 assists a game?  After a while it isn’t the players but the coaching and style of play.

Wasnt there for those 3, great call genius.

And you and some of the old timers are. Every fanbase needs them just like every fanbase needs ones who want change and to push the program forward instead of happily sitting in neutral

    HAHAHA..

I already posted the link in the other thread. It doesn't really need to be highlighted again since it's all over Twitter. The kid f-ed up. Yes, he's going to hear about it all year. But hey, we love to hurt our own. You see the stuff on Twitter. "Typical Towson" "Can't believe I graduated there". It's bad enough we lost the game but he'll get over it. You need thick skin to be a Towson fan/alum.

I posted this before your recap. But I saw Towson on the front page of espn and had no idea what was going on until I clicked the link. The kid will be alright though...

It’s amazing how “fans” shit talk, excuse my language, young college kids instead of sticking by our players and coaches? If you think that they don’t see these comments, you’re insane. Ok, they aren’t the best basketball players or had a rough game, it happens. Their effort can’t be questioned, just their skill and it happens. It’s college basketball. But my heart goes out to these kids, especially Thomas and Mcneil sticking out these 4 years and being apart of a bunch of different causes and programs at Towson and in the community. Yes I’m disappointed, but you guys are ridiculous.

If Skerry, staff, and kids constantly read this board that is one of the problems. Who in the heck should have free time perusing a message board with 5-7 posters who vents about clearly obviously flaws. That time should be spent studying tape, working hard in the gym, etc. You think Nick Saban or Tony Bennett and staff /players have time to check out what's said on a message board or even damn care? Good grief..

This group of players has a chance to put themselves back on the map of relevance with a win.  Great test for our team.

I was down and out early on and then I put my black Towson long sleeve Under Armour shirt I bought when in town last January for the Elon game.

I talked shit to my friend a Hoosier Alum.  Then told Cal & Stanford to suck it.

Mark my words.   Pat Skerry and Co are gonna take us to the promise land.

Call me a nut... sure...   our time is coming.

I have a hunch these players are gonna have some swagger in them.   All it takes is one player to get it going and the chemistry blossoms.

    Go Tigers.

    LOL!!
