  1. I got what you're saying but was curious about your logic arriving to your conclusion about the area. And I won't get into which city is safer or not. Lol. The city will do its best to make sure everyone is safe but at the same time you want to watch your surroundings while in the area. I'll leave it at that...

I’m a Baltimore native & I feel safer in DC than I do in Baltimore. I’m going to take the glass half full attitude at this point in terms of the new tournament venue.  As far as murder rates, I mentioned Baltimore’s only to refute the argument that this new venue is an a bad area; Royal Farms Arena isn’t the safest place to walk around at night, so it seems a tad disingenuous to me to complain about the location of this new venue

Huh? How can you refute whether an area is good or bad based on comparing an entire city's murder rate? I lived in both bmore and the DC area in the 90s when it was really bad and if you aren't mindful of your surroundings anything can happen anywhere. Yes, the area around Congress Heights has its issues but patrons will be safe due to security. The city has thought this out for a long time and the results will be rewarding just like every other improvement in the metro area. Heck, I may even check out the tournament from now on...

  3. Could work in the long run. And quit with the nonsense about it being in a bad area of DC.  No need to compare murder rates with bmore either due to size differences. All cities have their good and bad.  As a DC native no one will bother you if you aren't looking for trouble.  Heck, the Nats stadium isn't in the best area but the venue is fine. Only issue is the size as others mentioned but let's see..

  4. Another observation about skerry which probably resulted in this mess is his lack of leadership. If players don't respect the coach for whatever reason chaos reigns. No control over the team and people bolt. Saw so much bickering between him and the team during games. Absolute mess. Next year will be a make or break year for him..

I feel like we are playing with a double edged sword here.  We can't say Skerry isn't getting good enough guys and guys are staying 4 years.  The best player on the team is leaving because he wants to go to a Power 5 or play professionally.  That means he is upgrading from his current situation which is a compliment to Skerry if you ask me.  It stinks that we are losing him but at the same time Skerry found a "diamond in the rough".  Let's see where he ends up and what he does with that opportunity.

What? (Not trying to be sarcastic either..)

Using our history with Morgan State and Loyola just goes to show how out of touch TL is as no one cares about those games.

My opinion is that you drop football completely and sink that money into the other sports.  Focus on men’s lacrosse and basketball.  I don’t care if we win 30 CAA titles in volleyball.  NO ONE CARES.

    This... hahaha..

Hoops will be ok. Football is at a turning point. Women's hoops too early to tell but apparently they have an excellent class coming in. Football either wins this season or get ready to make a coaching change. Men's and women's lacrosse have gone great in the CAA. We need the other sports to step up, not just football and hoops.

Thought you said Ambrose not going anywhere until contract ends despite what happens this year. As to the opinion,  most glaring was lack of mentioning the success of lacrosse teams. But football and basketball are the sports that draw most attention.  Leonard responding to the basketball woes by saying we beat Morgan and UMBC constantly does not help the disappointing seasons endured in basketball.

    HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAA! Tony Bennett! Bennett ball!

LOL. But seriously, this was looking like a long night from the get go. The energy wasn't there and shots weren't falling.  Even if Hunter played I still think we lose. Hoos weren't mentally prepared and you have to blame Bennett on this. Have no idea what team was playing tonight.  Props to UMBC, that Lyles was making everything and they were shooting lights out. Had energy and all. Go UMBC...

  9. Skerry will continue to recruit the same players and enforce his style of play as long as he stays here. The latter meaning the same results we've endured over the past couple of seasons. Now with an apathetic fan base such as ours along with little interest from the community/city in the program, this is acceptable (over .500 and graduate kids timely) and it would be difficult to remove him. Actually, I can imagine him staying as long as he wants with these results. Even if there were a miraculous CAA tourney run and we happen to go dancing, I doubt other bigger programs would take much interest in him. I mean after going 1-31 you can't get any worse and things would improve at some point. However he needs continued success and probably more than one NCAA run to jettison to a bigger program. Long story short, we have no choice but to accept it UNLESS the atmosphere and interest surrounding the program changes. That starts with the oh so apathetic students at Towson...

  10. Why bring up this topic again? He isn't going anywhere and this is who we are. An average to sometimes below average squad. Most took the kool aid from that 10-1 start besides myself and maybe one other. Will be having the same discussion this time next year and beyond  until his contract ends. Decent recruiter with the exception of a point guard and poor Xs and Os guy. His ability to lead and motivate is highly suspect. But again, no choice but to embrace it. Skerry ball lives on....

  11. Was a pretty bad game. Noticeable things that stood out was how Starr performed. Everytime I took a look at the feed he turns it over (from going baseline and getting nearly trapped with a bad pass that went no where, to the inbound pass at the end of the game that flew over his teammate's head). Guy is pretty mediocre (hate to say it). Thought the refs missed some calls. Did anyone see that goal tend that wasn't called on JMU? The foul at the end was questionable as well. Oh well...
