Skerry is a decent recruiter but an average coach at best. His X's and O's are pretty poor though.. He isn't going anywhere as others mentioned here so we just have to embrace it...

Skerry deserves accolades for graduating kids & resuscitating this program from the dead. Personally, I think he’s plateaued & I don’t see him getting us to the NCAA tournament. Call it second guessing, call it Monday morning quarterbacking, but I question whether he’s bringing in the right type of players by in large, both from a physical & mental standpoint. Too much undisciplined, low basketball IQ plays. We played a TEAM today. Conversely, we are a group of individuals, with one or two guys who can make some 1-on-1 plays. So much of college basketball is driven by 3-point shooting. Give me a few players who can drain the 3, make smart passes, & play solid fundamental D. Looking forward for a moment to next season, who do we have that will be a consistent 3-point threat, other than ZM? Meanwhile, the other conference teams seem to be stockpiling 3-point shooters. We are losing the arms race
Been saying Skerry has plateaued for several seasons now. That first half was pretty bad to watch. Same ole song...

Thought Hairston was the best out of the bunch. Kid had some potential imo...

Talked to some recent grads while working out at the local gym and they told me it flooded due to a busted pipe? wow...

Nothing new to see here folks.. move along...

With the exception of myself and perhaps 1 or 2 other people who have watched Skerry's team this year or over the past few years knew that 10-1 start was fool's gold. Beating up on inferior competition doesn't bode well for conference play. Pretty much same issues that plagued the team for years now. My major complaint is how soft Morsell is. I was expecting a lot more from him after seeing him his freshman year. Boy was I wrong...

That statement about being the most successful in history is all relative. I first assumed that the writer was quoting that based on Skerry's overall winning percentage during his tenure here. Not sure about his predecessors before him with the exception of the guy everyone loved (PK)....

interesting..

Man, miss those times with T. West and Enders...

Why does the ref on the left seem excited that it went in. Looked like he was a hofstra fan.. LOL. Tough loss..

New season, same ole song..

Not sure why everyone is surprised and mad. This was exactly what would happen once we played good teams. At least we competed and kept it close on the road. I just want to have a winning record by the time season ends. But to expect CAA titles and a NCAA appearance was just out of the question...

This here. Wondering if he was any good himself...

Even if we did win CAA. We'd probably be in the first four games as 15 or 14 so wouldn't matter really.lol

8 hours ago, Chris Datres said:Doesn’t matter how you consider it. If the Committee gets to evaluate us, it will count as a road win...along with those other 5 games they have won away from home.
Committee? Committee for what? Lol. There is no way Towson gets considered for any NCAA play unless we win the CAA tourney...

Doubt it. They are 6-4 and lost by over 40+ to Kansas earlier this year. Oakland getting more praise here than deserved but surely a solid mid major and should match up well against us. Wouldn't be surprised if we came away with the W.

Trying to debate with Matt is sometimes like trying to move a stationary brick wall by hand.. lol. Despite some of us here saying that we are proud of the team and record, but let's not jump the gun. That is hardly being pessimistic.... But I digress.. lol

Baltimore is Orioles, Ravens and Maryland......when the Tigers get do something extraordinary, the media...Sun, Radion, TV News, etc. ..they will get a mention. To win the tournament they beat LaSalle and Manhattan.....I understand that it is great to win the event and where the program is now is unquestionably in the right direction....but they beat LaSalle and Manhattan. Once they beat a Power 5 school or a strong basketball school, such as Georgetown, the media will improve, but it will never be comparable to what Maryland gets here. That is what made VCU (as well as Shaka Smart ) and George Mason (as well as Jim Larranaga) hot commodities. This team can do it, but until they do, they are a media afterthought.
Well said.. Thank you. Think everyone is jumping the gun a little bit here..

Anyway, as I pontificated on another thread, the 5 games after this week, the ones vs Oakland, Pitt, C of C, Elon & UNCW (all but 1 on the road) will be a real barometer of where this years team stands.
Agreed. These polls mean little at this point albeit good for the team. The next couple of games starting at Oakland will be a true indicator on how good we really are..

Not really.. I'll wait until conference play then will get back to you.. lol

Glad we are winning games but the scheduling I do not like at all. Great stats and all but against inferior opponents doesn't reveal much. Hard to tell how really good this team is until I guess conference play.
