Good ending to the season as some have said here against mediocre teams. I'm almost confident we'll be in the same position and saying the same things next year at this time just like before. Another 4-8 season or so...

Ahhh. Skerry ball begins...

The only reason we are playing redshirt and true freshman is because of the obvious fact that our coaches cannot recruit, or develop talent. If your who roster comes down to a handful of people getting hurt, well then you don't have much of a program.
Ouch..

Ty Smith, Jordan Dangerfield, Ryan Delaire, Gerard Sheppard, Tom Ryan, Eric Pike, Doug Shaw. They all could play. T-West wasn't solely responsible but he played a big part of course. One of the great FCS running backs of all time. It doesn't hurt to get talent at the skill positions because even a very good back like Darius Victor helped us go 7-4 in 2015. Having West, Grant Enders/Athens and an outstanding line with strong fullback play was the reason we could play smashmouth football, when most teams are going spread. I've said this many times, but if you go back to the yards per carry averages of guys like Dom Booker, they were averaging over 5.0 yards per carry so it wasn't just West that was great. That line was great as well.
Now the talent is down or very young. Our best players (Simpson, Mahalak) are injured. I do think some of these kids have potential like Kobe Young. Though he might go back to the secondary next season. Ultimately, you take a chance on two injury-prone grad transfers on offense, who have been, well...injured or have played very little.
But if Ellis Knudson works out at qb, we're not worried about Mahalak getting injured or Stover going through tremendous growing pains. So many missed opportunities the last few years in the recruiting game have cost us big-time.
Agreed...

So we have to wait 3 more years until meaningful change. As someone mentioned we will be having the same discussion next year and beyond with 4 to 5 win seasons. Maybe TWest was solely responsible for our success and Ambrose just enjoyed the ride...

Yes, that means we will be chatting about the game, basketball, tailgating, etc. Ther's no excuse not to get 10+ people on the chat.
Why would you assume that? The team has been pretty bad this season which won't help with numbers...
-
I agree to some extent that tailgating contributes to the overall college football experience. The kids out there on the field would love to play in front of a packed house routing them on. What's the point of home field advantage if no one sits in the stands. Yes, the policies did negatively affect attendance regardless of what anyone says and was a factor in attendance. Couple that with a mediocre team placed on the field and you have what we have now. So it is time for solutions. First, take care of the issues regarding the team to field a better product. Followed by good marketing and changes in the tailgating policies to bring students back to the games.

Sad...Speechless..

Didn't watch game but how one could say defense played well while nearly getting blanked by twenty something points is besides me. Gave up on this squad long ago and don't bother watching or attending games until the staff changes completely. This is downright embarrassing and sad. Brings back memories in the 90s on campus when we were dreadful....

Came into chat and saw nothing. Then saw final score and understood why...

I was saying in the chat that title run seemed to be an aberration and we will just be a low to mid tier caa team with no chance of making playoffs unless we clean house. That's highly unlikely at this point until RAs contract runs out. As others mentioned you have to look at the coaching and staff at this point. Not saying the season is over but realistically we have to live with the stigma that we are an average at best team for years to come. We've heard the same thing over again, oh this guy coming in will do this and that only to be benched or constantly injured as in MM... Truly disappointing...

I do not see the chat set up...

Interesting...

Hate to be a debbie downer but another subpar season on the horizon as I figured. MM just damaged goods now. Pitiful Oline doesn't help with that. Doubt we'll put up more than 10 pts against terps and that will come in garbage time. Man I long for the days with Twest and company. Oh well..

Interesting.. Looking like another subpar season. No better than .500.... Prove me wrong coach and team!
Nice improved website btw!!! Good to be back..

Good to win a tournament for a change. Let's see how this spills over into conference play....
