  1. I agree the D looked good in the first half but the offense all game was hard to watch. The thing about Smith is, he has the hardest part down which is the passing (it seems like). If he can clean up his technique in other areas he could be good for us. Pigrome was definitely a disappointment but what else did we expect. Good on him for converting that 4th down in OT though.

Mat: No mention of TJIII among the QBs -- is he hurt or has he fallen down the depth chart?

Also, RA says, "Last year's group wasn't excited about being together.
They are excited about playing together. These guys like hanging out together." But I recall him saying something much different this time last year, especially about the camaraderie of the quarterbacks. So it's hard to take his assessment at face value.

    Thought that too...

So much of it goes back to tailgating and the atmosphere the university has unfortunately created.

in 2011, my fraternity, along with a bunch of others would set up in the corner of Lot 11. We would all grill, brought generators and speakers. It was a giant party. We did a good job of policing our own and never really had any issues. I can remember us racing to get to Unitas so we would get a good tailgate spot

Now, you have a bunch of rent a cops hassling both students and alumni about what is in their coolers. It’s absurd to me that we treat our guests like children and then expect them to want to come to games.

I’m not saying we can have a bunch of 18 year olds just ripping shots from handles of vodka in plain sight, but a bit of discretion can go a long way. If students have stuff in cups, just let them be for the most part, otherwise they’re just going to go uptown and do the same thing there.

Two homecomings ago SAFE got on our ass, despite our tailgate being a mix of students, alumni, families and even some folks in their 60s. It’s never pleasant with them either. Never “hey guys, mind putting that in a cup?”. Always just a flex of their wanna be powers.

I have to believe its a top down order though. I want to believe it atleast..

I agree on the SAFE  gestapo... They need to let the kids alone. No college kids will come to tailgate if they are being harassed! Let them have fun. If and only if they see a group getting out of control, then they move in. Until that. DO NOT BOTHER THEM!

It starts with greek life. Former Greek life director Matt hated greek life. Told heads of greek life that we shouldnt go to tailgates wear letters etc. You get frats. you get sororities. You get student groups. Start with a solid foundation. Greek life organizations need certain points to stay on campus (essentially the way of the school forcing you to participate in events). Fat bonus points for tailgates. Build it, they will come.

Glad supercam is back. Perhaps he was just trying to market himself by dipping his toes in the portal. Getting to post that all these other schools reached out and we're interested builds his brand tremendously. Maybe it was all business nothing personal and it was a calculated move that he was staying the whole time

thinking something along those lines too...

So he felt disrespected enough that he would sit out a year at another program. Let’s face it. Most programs would want him at the three spot at his size, but his game fits the four spot.

wow this is all so puzzling. why wouldn't cam want another weapon around him... I've spoken to him a couple of times and truly want to ask him
