  1. True.  However,  Craig Haley has been making a living covering the FCS for some 20 years.  He’s supposed to be the expert for FCS Football .  This poll is put outto influence the early season rankings.  How is a team like UNH is even in consideration for a spot.  They had a terrible Spring and return much less talent/experience than we do.

Do we know much about the JMU transfer? He's huge, but I gather he  wasn't going to play a lot there.

He transferred from UCFlorida to JMU last fall.   Played at UCF this past fall 3* in hs 10 tackles for JMU this spring.  played in 21 games at UCF.  I believe that he’s a graduate with 2 years of eligibility.  The real deal.

Again, I do not know much about this team but from what I can see is a coaching staff that is committed to making a legitimate playoff run. It seems the approach chosen is to utilize the transfer portal talent to do so. I read some postings in which some thought that transfers are kids that weren’t going to start at their other schools, definitely not true. Due to COVID and getting the extra year, the transfer portal is at record numbers and there are many players who needed a change to revive their motivation, position coach left, wanted to try to go power 5, and or graduated and wanted a new challenge.

My son would have started for sure but his position coach left and he felt he reached his highest potential with his past coaching staff.
i can’t say for sure the approach this staff is using will be the answer for this team but I can say for sure that they raised the competition for spring and are raising the competition for fall camp.
I have also seen where FBS transfers come in and compete but do not beat out current FCS starters.
Simply, it looks like to me Coach is taking an educated gambling approach in which the odds are in favor of some great competition and all the players, transfers and current will need to bring their A game!
I predict we will be strong contenders in the playoffs. Again, never even watched a CAA game, just a hunch😊

100% agree with your post.  All of the kids that are transferring in to Towson would be/are impact players at their respective schools.  The landscape of top tier FCS has changed.  The portal will now become an even bigger part of creating the depth needed to compete for a national championship.  Easily the most depth that Towson has ever had. I expect this team to challenge for the National Championship.

If The year is 2010 sure...
This Spring can’t judge conferences because most teams didn’t play in a very short season. But Delaware got boat raced by the number 1 team and Jmu blew a huge lead to soft Houston state. So much so their fans are calling for Cignettis head

11 vs 11. Participants in National Championship game MVFC vs CAA since 2003.  3 teams from the MVFC vs 6 from the CAA.

  5. A radical President with an agenda.  He procures the study and then leaks the results.  Study was purchased to support his agenda and help him sell this to the alumni. 99% of all the athletic departments in D1,2 and 3 lose money.  College athletics were never intended to be a revenue stream for the schools.

I think the extra practice time will pay off in getting Jawon Pass acclimated. I think we'll have our usual fun on offense / hard to watch on defense type team

We added an incredible amount of talent on defense.  Most depth ever on this defense.  They may very well be the best in the CAA.

ESPNs lack of coverage of FCS football is and has been disappointing. FIFY.

They don’t care about it because most people do not care about lower level football. They’d rather put on some 30 for 30, random sport, or social justice show to fill the gaps.

they have had a lot of games on their paywall espn+. I don’t know if they did in years past as I just signed up within the last month for it.

As nice as a end of February tailgating double header of hoops and football sounds, it just doesn’t seem logical to have it in the spring in the future

    Your comments are spot on.

We missed out on the playoffs thanks to that crooked AD from UNH that kept putting his team in the playoffs (for like 15 years), when they had no business being there because he had a seat on the selection committee (Marty Scarano).  We pasted UNH like 66-35 on the final game of the season to end up with the same record as them, yet they got the bid.

That LSU game was fantastic.  I wouldn't trade it for the playoffs.  We had the lead for a chunk of the game.  We rushed for more yards than ANYONE did on LSU that entire season.  We had 4 sacks vs. 0 for LSU.  We played outstanding.  Too bad we didn't get in the playoffs though, to your point, as that might have been our best team ever.  If we had Enders the next season, I think we would have won it all.  We were featured on 60 Minutes b/c of that game, we made some show like hard knocks for LSU, etc.  That was so memorable.

    You are 100% correct!

7-4 makes the playoffs. FBS, NDSU, @jmu is 0-3 so we need to go 7-1 against the remaining teams. That’s difficult. Sure it can be done but extremely though for an average program and some players who haven’t played a game in 500+ Days.

$450,000 for the game. 2 nights for a hotel (bookend if a night game or possibly two before if an earlier game due to time change) for ~50 rooms at 125 a pop (conservative) 12k. Another 20-30k for flights and add food and buses not to mention getting equipment, you are looking at a pricey venture.
this isn’t driving to uconn wvu ecu Maryland navy or wake. Nor are we getting paid like lsu and Florida did.

$60k for the trip.  $390k net = pretty good haul for an FCS team.

Considering making the playoffs isn’t likely and a good portion of our pay day to California will go to travel. Sure let’s pimp ourselves out for more money

Are your comments based on facts? Why are playoffs not likely?  How much are we getting to play SDSU? How much are the travel costs?  You must be “in the know”. Or are you speculating to create the worn out narrative that you’ve been pushing?  I know that you’re wrong on all accounts.

Did they find him? pretty strange to not have an update for a few days now.

Does anyone have any idea of what happened? Going missing at 7am on what appears to be before a practice day is very concerning. Hopefully, the team culture is okay.

Personal situation.  Nothing to do with the FB program. Hoping this young man will reach out and contact a family member or friend.
