According to the selection show last night Hopkins got in because of their Strength of Schedule, which is BS because if 99% of the other schools were number 1 in S.O.S and had an 8-7 record they would be sitting out this weekend.  Would Hopkins beat High Point right now? Probably but no way an automatic bid should of gone to an 8-7 team.

Hopkins was an at large selection, not the auto bid from the B10.  That wasPSU

I'm guessing he was re-classified. Or maybe he's going Prep? What is Omaha Central?

UNSIGNED SENIOR: 2019 Omaha Central (NE) 6-10 PF/C Javier Turner has fallen under the radar. This big man weighs 230lbs, has great feet, solid shot blocker, above average ball-handling ability, plays physical down low, & runs the floor well. 3.4 GPA 18 ACT

He is a 2019 recruit.  Omaha Central

HS. , Omaha ,NE.looks like the clips are from recruit circuit. I like him.

6’8 Nate Sestina of Bucknell, has transferred to Kentucky. Averaged 16 points & 8 boards a game. From the Patriot League to UK. Probably doesn’t bode well for us getting the American U transfer, Sam Iorio. Iorio’s numbers aren’t quite the same as Sestina’s, but still....

Sam Iorio is not athletic enough to play in the CAA.  He's a 6'5 230 lb (non)power forward in the PL!

Ok, maybe, but I’m still not crazy about the idea. If it did happen, he & Solomon would both be juniors after older brother sat out next year. One question I would have is whether there is anyone on our staff capable of coaching up a big like this kid, during the year he would sit out? If not, I say pass & go after a 6’8 or 6’9 kid with a bit more polish on offense. I just don’t want another kid who can’t throw a beach ball in the ocean.

The kid can play . No one in the CAA can match up with him. He’s 232 and may approach 250 at Towson. Very athletic and just learning how to play as a true 7footer. Not really getting the chance at SC to contribute. Block shots and go 15-15 in the CAA.

  5. Committee is a joke. They basically lumped us in with the low majors.  CAA is a solid Mid Major and Towson should have benefited from it.  Patriot , Meac, A East , no way they should have gotten a higher seeding. The Committee told UConn (winners of 12 straight)that the AAC wasn’t strong enough to give them a 1 seed and that’s how thry make the decisions.  So, Towson comes from the #10 conference and gets a 15 seed. Makes no sense at all.

@RundaPower I’m not familiar with fake recruiting and helmet stickers. Can you elaborate?

Its nice to see our squad is a bunch of hometown Maryland laxers. University of Maryland doesn’t even have as many in-state players as we do.

Haha!  Well,, coaches like Petro and Toomey only recruit the kids that have dads that drive BMW 750’s and can afford to send their kids all over the country each summer to recruit tourneys. These Coaches eat up the fake AA tags and end up with kids that can’t play .  It’s an industry...from the club teams to the camps..FAKE! “Helmet decals” refers to the kids coming from all of the elite private schools.  Because they are 6’2 and come from Gtwn Prep’, they must be great.

  7. I am a Skerry fan.  His approach of strong Defense and Rebounding mirror mine. however, he has not established an offensive identity with his teams. I fear that the players lack the fundamentals and discipline to execute a set offense consistently.  Yes, the last 51 games have been bad basketball.

  8. Earned some respect tonight. Officials tried to protect Loyola and allowed Spencer a couple of bs moves. Thought we got tired in the second qtr and Nads did a poor job of not using TO’s to maintain possessions.  Woodall did what he should be able to do.  Kid from Loyola started kicking his stick in the 4th to try to stop the fast breaks. Nads was going bananas with the refs on the second to last time out.  Canto and Smith were terrific tonight. Cold sticks impacted the game.Loyola could not run with us and had to switch to zone. Early, not in best condition yet.
