Let’s play what if. What if we roll into Harrisonburg 7-3, but fall short vs JMU, leaving us at 7-4. Do we get in the playoffs? I suppose part of the equation would be whether we got blown out or not by JMU. Another factor would be that we’d have to have a better record than UNH, seeing as they beat us.

I think it’s safe to assume Nova & Madison are making the playoffs. After that, from the CAA, is pretty wide open at the moment, though, with head-to-head matchups from here on out, more teams will fall by the wayside

It’s very likely that neither JMU nor Nova wins the conference. Nova in particular was on the ropes last weekend against Albany.  Meanwhile,  the JMU OL is being exposed.

There is!  The fact that we run a very basic offense and can beat “highly ranked team” (lol), is positive.  Other fcs teams are as average as we are.
uri probably was the best gauge on this team. Morgan state is high school level, unh is not good and is a bad loss, Ndsu is Ndsu, SDSU has a very good defense but their offense is beyond pitiful. Stony Brook not good. Uri Atleast beat the bad teams they’ve played.

does the caa get 1 or 2 at large this year?

So, the SDSU game is a bad loss?

We wear the white helmets on the road.

We've wore the block "T' the last two wins.

I know, I know.  Don't F with the winning streak.

But for God's sake, a gold T outlined in black isn't the same on a black helmet as on a white one.

The T on a white helmet is ICONIC.  LOL

    No doubt

I laughed because you actually though the “best defense in fcs” would give up 21 points. That and you thought the weather was going to be good.

difficult to have a brewery/alcohol stand outside for a tailgate at a college where 95% of the home tailgaters are students and where 20% of them make it inside to the game. They need to do better with events like this but, I’ve been around since 07 and things haven’t changed. Athletics department sucks.

but good prediction this week 👍🏼

    SD! I’m still here.....

    Always hope Red!

I just pray we come away from frozen yogurt town unscathed.  Can’t afford any season ending injuries and playing a team that has back to back Pac12 wins scares me.

Anyone traveling to SoCal be sure to not rub elbows with any of them Padres fans or it may be bad luck for our entire season.
I keep hearing Bruce Bochy and the Orioles next season which is hard to believe.

Hat giveaway so not all lost if we get obliterated….  This could be their best team in 40 years..  so again win or lose lets fly back in one piece.

    Go Tigers..

Delaware, NOVA, and JMU all seem to be playoff contenders. We could not beat any of them this year.
Rhode Island is a team you would think we always beat but they are 3-0 and looking like a top 25 team.

Albany(another team we should beat but they beat us last season) played NDSU much tougher than we did so they could come to Unitas and embarrass us again.

Richmonds quarterback was running around the field looking like a young Tom Flacco, they might be able to beat us too.

That leaves Stony Brook, William and Mary, and Elon as our must win games. Haven’t seen too much of them this year but they seem to be having a similar year that we are having.

hard to have hope for the playoffs with what games we have in front of us and behind us. Might be able to pull out some gritty team wins. Will continue to follow along to see how it plays out. We might be able to pull off some surprise performances

Nova has looked just okay so far.  have you actually watched Delaware play?  They’ve looked terrible on both lines of scrimmage. I thought they were a fraud in the Spring and that looks to be the case here in the fall.

There isn’t accountability within the program nor Athletic department. He literally can do what he wants and not get fired.

Again, your involved with the team so there’s a certain level of black and gold colored glasses you wear.
I think we all agree that he does care. That’s obvious. He played here. That’s always been Apparent and there is no question about that. He obviously isn’t trying to lose. Why would he?! He’s got a cushy ass job with zero pressure and unlimited security. But he’s not a good coach. He’s had plenty of time to prove otherwise.

If a program can’t fire a coach with 1 year left on his contract, you have to question the feasibility of that program even existing. Is it worth a 4-7/5-6 low level football program?

To be clear, I speak for myself.  I have no affiliation with the FB program or the Athletic Dept.

I recall you saying last year that if there wasn't any improvement there could be some "changes" before a certain someone's contract ended... Not sure..

Write your check..... $438k will do it!   Get all your friends and write the f***ing check.  If y’all would be writing checks to the FB program, maybe we’d have the money for COA, a new locker room, increaed salaries for assistants, etc.

That’s a true statement.  People above the HCforced his brother out.

They probably already have. No accountability

Sorry that I haven’t been around to chime in.  I went to the game yesterday.  I think what we  all saw yesterday is exactly what we are at this point,    Thats an unacceptable performance for the program . I don’t know what/when/if there is an answer for the 2021 season.

I DO KNOW THIS!  Nobody and I mean nobody, is taking this tougher than Rob Ambrose . Hehas been totally invested in this program since the day he became head coach.  There is no one that cares more about the program than Rob.

To say that there is “no accountability” in this program is a chickenshit comment.  Since the day he took this job there has been nothing but accountability.  Accountability, Intergrity and Familyhave been the cornerstone of Robs teams and his program.

Obviously, things have gone sideways.  Everyone is upset and there is a lot of criticism and finger pointing (rightly so). STOP THE CHICKENSHIT COMMENTS!

  11. You have to

be perfect to beat an NDSU.   I would say that there are only a handful of teams in the country (Alabama, Mount Union) that run their systems perfectly year after year.  Their OL was very impressi. Reallyathing of beauty to watch.

I expected our OL to perform better.  I very concerned about their inability to defeat the guy in front of them and then get to the next tier.  Got three weeks to fix it.

Quarterbacks and point guards.  Something we can’t get right.
35-36 record since frisco with zero, 0, nill, nada playoff wins. I want to say rhode island is only other caa team to not win a playoff game since 2014. That’s truly embarrassing and any other program would have made a change by this point.  Need to go 6-0 against the other caa teams to get to 7 wins. That’s very unlikely.

“don’t sleep on these guys!  They don’t know what’s about to hit them!  Unveiling, etc”

Ah yes.  And here we are ‘12, you got exactly what you wished for. In regard to this team, my comments during the preseason were on the roster itself (which I still believe is the most talented in the CAAaside from the QB position). What I saw on Saturday was a team that still has no identity and a staff that did not have them prepared.

  13. Terrible loss.  Out coached ,out schemed and out played ,all night .  Lost every one on one matchup.  Alarmingly unprepared  and truly shocking that all of the upperclassmen were that confused on the field.  Physically superior,  yet we never established the line of scrimmage.  Horrible officiating did not decide the outcome.

  14. They won’t be moving down.  Too much tax payer money invested into the stadium and associated facilities.  You have a 40,000 seat /$100 million dollar stadium that has to be occupied.  UConn will sit and wait for the realignment to take place.  $ will come from the Big East until a new home is found.

  15. ObviouslyTowson was choppy on offense.  I expected a commitment to run the ball in the first half.Didnt happen.  Chris was off with his timing much of the game.  I expect that to be cleared up this week. I like the RB’s and Receivers.  OL is going to be very good.

On D  , I love the depth.  20 is going to make great plays all year on the field side.  Looking for       More big plays this week.

  16. ThanksMat. I like the fact that the majority team (90%) has been practicing together since January.  Remember,  Rob brought them back for both summer sessions.  So, aside from a few weeks off, this team has been together since the beginning of the second semester.
