Well Amir Harris from Hagerstown just decommitted from Rhode Island this morning and another tweet from a writer with the Providence Journal said he also had an offer from Towson though I can't find that anywhere else. So is he the PG that Matt's been hearing about?

Very, very true and I think she's been their setter since the day she stepped foot on campus. Hope it's nothing serious.

So the setter is Marissa Wonders. Based on stats, it looks like she played well in the Elon and W&M games the weekend before and one week later wasn't even on the stat sheets. I wouldn't think a setter would have a significant injury. Whatever the reason for her not being in the line up, hope she gets back soon and in the mean time the team figures out how to win without her.

Agree with Tgr4life - no one should be negative about a Towson team that is 16-2. If it was a soft early season schedule, it was done so because this team is young. At some point conference teams are going to figure out our schemes and find a way to beat us. I'd rather lose our first game now than carry the undefeated streak into mid/late season. Let's stay healthy, near the top of the conference standings and take it to another level in the conference tournament. It's been too long since the team made it to the post season.

Thought maybe someone started a thread on the old board about our non-conference schedule for 2017-18. Here's what I know of so far. Heard we had the opportunity to be on the West Coast for game(s) in December, but that was shot down cause it interfered with finals. Volleyball now 16-0 and one of only 4 remaining undefeated teams in the country (Miami, Florida, Towson & JMU). At home this Fri/Sun against Hofstra and Northeastern. Of the two, the match on Sunday against Northeastern appears to be the biggest test. Side note since field hockey was mentioned in this volleyball thread. They finally won their first game of season against Long Island-Brooklyn 4-0, which was Towson's first shut out and most goals scored in many years. Unfortunately, LIU is one of the worst, if not worst, programs in D1. A wins a win....

No doubt we've struggled in conference tournaments since Chris Riley left for VA Tech years ago. As for field hockey, until the University and donors provide the team with an AstroTurf field, the team will be one of the worst Div 1 programs in the country year after year. It's not fair to the student-athletes that they are not given basic resources to be successful on the field.

Volleyball is now 11-0 which is the best start in school history. JMU is also off to a perfect start at 9-0. Towson has 3 more non-conference games this weekend before conference play begins. Team plays Fort Wayne, Kent State and Oakland this weekend, with Oakland on paper appearing to be the toughest opponent of the 3.

Just spotted the following website on early season tournaments that was updated on Tuesday. It lists only 4 of the 8 teams playing in the Gulf Coast Showcase. Along with Towson are Florida Atlantic (16-17 RPI was 281), Manhattan (16-17 RPI was 262) and Penn (16-17 RPI was 202). Towson's RPI last season was 94. Let's hope for some stronger teams on the other half of the bracket. Maybe it's a matter of filling the seats so we have $ to pay those schools to visit, but we won't do that when you can get 4 free tickets for every other game because it's an appreciation night for one group or another (faculty/staff, first responders, military, special olympians, educators, etc.). Not liking how men's basketball is releasing their non-conference schedule today. Slow as molasses on instagram and better pick up the pace cause conference schedule comes out on Tuesday. So far the addt'l games are at ODU on Nov 10 and hosting Frostburg (I think) on Nov 13. Guess Frostburg's a step up from Goucher but still wish we weren't stuck playing any D2/3 schools

So tonight we play McGill, who got clobbered by Bama on Monday night but took SMU to OT last night. Very good squad based on last year's record and have league MVP returning to this year's team. Great logo ghost of andy. I remember it well and believe I have a sticker or something at home with that logo on it. Also have the basketball schedule card with Chuck Lightening's slam dunk in I believe the Ohio State game.

Don't follow football nearly as much as I do basketball, but it's definitely disappointing to see us picked 10th in the pre-season. It's disappointing to see Maine, Stony Brook and Albany ranked ahead of us. Gotta believe we spend more on football than Maine and Albany, but that doesn't always equate to more wins than losses. Hoping to see us in top 5 and back in the post-season this year. I thought for sure that we'd be able remain a top contender in the conference for years to come after our trip to the final. Let's hope we right the ship and get back on track.

Evan Finegan (the Michigan punter) posted on his twitter account back in late May that he's going to Buffalo. Not sure why, but I think he'd get more attention being the top punter in all of FCS than being the best punter in the low-level MAC.

How about a December trip to TCU and Stephen F. Austin? That would be similar to our road trip in 17-18 facing Oakland and then 2 days later facing Pitt. Both SFA and Oakland are very good mid-majors.

Add Dec 20 @ Oakland to the list (per Oakland's website). Hope it's a 2 year contract with them coming to Towson in 2018.
