Don’t let him leave campus until he commits to us 😆 He sounds like he has a lot of upside; PG on a perennial championship team; good 3 pt shooting numbers; good assist to t/o ratio. Get him, Gibson, Hunter or Burgess as our future PG.

    2 down...

Not surprising. They have a new gym & had pretty weak attendance last season I believe. That would be attributable to the poor product on the floor. As bad as they were last season, their 5 top scorers from the season that just concluded have all departed by graduation or transfer. The leading scorer they return next season avg 5ppg this past season. The new coach will certainly have his work cut out for him, especially with getting a very late start on recruiting.

I get it. I just broke out in a cold sweat when I read tu_fan’s post, that’s all

    2019 Basketball Offers

If Skerry brings in another LB disguised as a PG (Ivory, Dottin) I’ll lose what’s left of my mind. We need Gibson or someone like him. Just thinking about having to watch Dottin shoot another brick from the outside is enough to give me an upset stomach. Not to mention his foul shooting, which is the worst I’ve ever seen from a guard. That’s it, now I need a drink 🥃 to calm my nerves

Same coach is also following Quinton Adlesh of Columbia in the Ivy League. Shot 49% from the field; 37% from 3; averaged 13ppg. 6’0 pg. Might not mean anything, but I don’t think either Grayer or Adlesh is following our coach back

    In other CAA news

Their leading returning scorer averaged 5ppg this past season. Not unlike us this past season.

Agreed. I’m just a little nervous that we might be interested in him, seeing as he’s a local. Following a kid on Twitter, & him following back, doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Then again.... Now the Horchler kid is a different story. He’d have to sit out next season & would only have 1 year of eligibility after that. So I’m not sure he’s necessarily worth pursuing either

Actually Mat, I hope we don’t go after him. He took 6 3’s a game last season & only shot 29% on them. We don’t need another guy who is challenged when it comes to shooting. I’ll throw out a name of a kid who would have to sit out next year (and who is following one of our coaches on Twitter)-Noah Horchler. Averaged 16ppg & 9 boards at N. Florida, before being kicked off the team for some reason. 6’8

3 open ships=lots of flexibility. Grad transfer (one of our coaches is following on Twitter Isaiah White, a local kid who played at Maine); transfer who has to sit out a year....Even JUCO...as long as its not a PG

    This better be Skerry’s mantra

    2019 Basketball Offers

Sometimes you have to beat out stiff competition for recruits. If you can’t occasionally “steal” one from better programs, you’ve got a problem. This is a crucial recruiting class for this staff. If they have another Drayton, Ingram, Prophete class, we’re screwed. I’m sure Skerry knows this, but can he close some of these deals?

    2019 Basketball Offers

I’m cautiously optimistic we can get him. He had an offer from Bryant (the school Byron Hawkins played for last season) but I read somewhere they got another guard & aren’t in play for Gibson anymore. Kids always post on Twitter when they get a scholarship offer; Gibson posted he got one from us & has no subsequent posts about any other offers. I also like the N Virginia kid, Buckley, but he has a ton of offers. Also like Jaylin Hunter up in Connecticut. He’s got a couple other offers, including ODU & Boston U.

Gibson’s Sidwell team beat Wilson for the DC HS championship. The same Wilson team with 6’9 twins Makhi & Makhel Mitchell, who are committed to MD. This kid can ball. Would love to see Skerry sign him

Proud of the lady Tigers. I wonder if we might play the turtles in the 1st round?

    Tony Shaver

He may have battled injury this past season. Still, 15ppg, 9 boards & 4 assists ain’t bad. It’s a significant loss for W&M.

My guess is Knight does what ZM did last year, & puts his name in for the draft. He gets an evaluation of his stock; if he gets good feedback, he might bolt. Otherwise, he simply withdraws his name & stays at W&M for his senior year, or looks into grad transfer, assuming he’s going to graduate before the fall semester. Seems to me W&M wants to hire new coach ASAP, to try to have him plead with Knight to stay, & to hit the recruiting trail. I think Millon is team captain, so I guess he stays.

    Tony Shaver

We need all the posters here we can get, especially passionate ones. Don’t always agree with him, but it would be boring on here if everyone always agreed with everyone else, except in my case, since I’m always right 😉

Actually, the earlier post was to the effect that W&M presumably has many wealthy donors to its athletic fund, not that its a private school

    Towson football report

Hey, don’t feel too frustrated. Your info & evaluations are always welcome & even a trickle of info is better than none at all. I’ll look forward to any roster updates you learn of over the next couple of months.

    Towson football report

Sounds like they’re being secretive, to the point of paranoia. If so, this begs the question of why?

    Tony Shaver

We’d have to pay a lot more than 1.7 million to buyout Skerry. He’s got what, 6-7 more years. In a 2016 Sunpaper article he was making $443K a year; I’m assuming he got a raise with the crazy extension he got, but let’s say he’s making $450K. That multiplied by 7. =$3,150,000

Can Shaver bring Knight, Pierce & Audige with him?
