    Sad

The 3-3-5 is a good D but needs downhill headhunters at ILB (TU has one of these, playing hurt) and spurs/safeties who will fill the alleys (we're especially lacking on the right side).

Agreed. Give them a little time to build their team. Seems the intended system is not in place bc of current personnel. They're doing the best they can with the guys they have.

    2022 General Football News

Seems like eventually it's all going to go back to the pre D1AA/FCS when there was just major and small college football. Teams like W&M, Davidson, Villanova, etc. were in the 'big' league.

    Football falls to UNH 37-14

Is it possible the re-kick decision came from special teams coach, who was already piloting his own train wreck? Hard to believe any HC would greenlight that move though.

I am one. And winning was fun for everybody. Gonna be 3-5K watching either way, so?

GOH DII or DIII football again? Seems like a better fit for this school in every aspect.

    New AD Thread II

Whomever winds up calling the shots needs to take a look at what Charlotte's done with football in a very short period of time. Everything TU could hope for while dealing with the same type setting: major metro area, 'commuter school' stigma, nearby pro sports, D1 programs and recreational activities, etc. They found the magic bullet and are in a solid conference w/quality opponents and selling out w/15k+ every game.

    Towson embarrassed 38-21 to Albany

Is this really college football?Saw a much better game with a dynamite crowd at a HS stadium Friday night. Towson looks like they're playing with ankle weights on in sand - except for #14 - God bless him. On D, terrible angles to the ball, dline ticketed for loitering, lots of missed tackles everywhere, no ability to adjust to anything. On Offense...😶... what the... Go back to to DIII Towson. You were fun to watch then and 4800 would be a great number again.

What is up with Attendance & Game Promotion?

Disappointed with ongoing football fan apathy/empty seats. Especially compared to what is seen elsewhere. Obviously, majority of fan support at games are alum, community and people from the region/area, not current students. A good example was the Wake game where the students/Greeks had their thing going under a huge tent. There were things there for them to enjoy and it was well managed (DJ, giveaways, etc.) and it was rockin'. The students absolutely need to be at the game, however, the parking lots on the other side of stadium were slammed with families, older folks, alums and people driving in from a one-hour radius (and visitors!) with great tailgate setups that just wanted to be there and they were being left alone to enjoy themselves. Lots of energy from that contingent and these are the people that filled the stadium. Bear in mind that Wake has one of the smallest student bodies in FBS football - about 5,100 undergrads, yet that stadium was pretty close to full for an FCS opponent. Charlotte, a fairly new program, is filling a 15,000 seat bowl every game and they're not even winning consistently. These two schools are about an hour apart and located in vibrant cities with other programs close by. Their crowds are created by a combination of having a decent program and very strong marketing it seems. There are numerous schools in my area, large and small, FBS and FCS, that compete for fans, but they all create this vibe on Saturdays. The football culture in the South is probably stronger than the Mid-Atlantic, but these schools have the same challenges and distractions that TU faces. They have just figured out the formula for success.
