    Skerry time to go?

Using 1 game as your sample size is definitely the way to make a strong argument. Scored over 80 points 11 times this season and over 90 at least 5 times. Don’t think we’ve done that in the previous 6 years combined.

    Skerry time to go?

His style? This season we played zero defense and scored the hell out of the ball. That’s a 180 from the last 5 years.

    Skerry time to go?

There is so much going on in this thread.... I am not happy with the result of this season and part of that has to be on his shoulders. In all honesty, I think he is really disappointed that the team did not gel the way he expected and he knows he has to make some changes within his X's and O's along with recruiting. This was his 2nd real recruiting class to finish all 4 years. Nobody was signing after the 1-31 year and he got some guys after the 18-13 season then this class followed up the 25 win in 2013-2014. I want to see what he does in the next 2 years with this sophomore class. If he still comes up short with seasons like this, then I think it is time to start talking about moving on. He came into this situation as a bottom feeder to make us relevant. He has some resources but if you look at the conference budgets in the league he's in the bottom half. Once Zane and co graduate I think we can have a true evaluation of how successful he's been. Recruiting has been a huge topic on this thread. I think a lot of that comes from your assistant coaches. Let's take a look at 2 of the guys who were recruiting the hottest area of HS basketball in the nation (DMV) and were on Skerry's staff. Kenny Johnson went from Towson to Indiana to Louisville (unfortunately got caught up in the scandal) and Bruce Shingler was an assistant for a Final 4 team in South Carolina. Part of the credit should go to Skerry for finding these guys, putting them on his staff and seeing where they went following their short lived time at TU. It also makes it difficult to recruit if there are different faces on staff every couple of years. You can say all the guys that have failed but how bout the ones who have succeeded; Bennimon, Damas, Moto, Morsell, etc. Am I satisfied with just graduating guys, having them be good citizens and not winning, not at all. But I do think it is important to do so to build a positive reputation about Towson Basketball and to keep out names out of all these current scandals. I don't want my alma mater to be associated with the Arizona's and Louisville's of the world. Sure its great during the short term but long term we end up going through another 20 years that we just got out of. Skerry doesn't need to go now, he deserves a shot to take us to the next level after what he dug us out of, we need to give him that opportunity. By March of 2020 if we are in the same place I think that's when the discussion begins.

    ALL CAA

Martin is making at worst 2nd team, he's 3rd in the league in scoring with just under 20 ppg. No shot he's left off.

    Grad transfer for next season?

Feel like we'd have a legit shot if Morsell had another year. They were really good together at St. John's their Sr. year

    Since Skerry became coach

Is winning 20+ games in a season considered average?

    Since Skerry became coach

I was 02-06 and agree with this exact sentiment. I want the tourney, I want to be better but this by far exceeds what it used to be. I don't really know if the grass is greener with another coach. The lack of enthusiasm around campus doesn't help recruiting either. Kids want that.

    Great Bounceback vs W&M

Just proving a point, whether its Loyola, UMBC or Morgan State. If its on the road, it counts as a road game.

    Great Bounceback vs W&M

Mat, you think Duke and UNC consider their games on the road when the travel the 15 min to play each other?

    Hofstra debacle

I'm fully aware I'm late to this post, esp. since we destroyed W&M but you guys are unreal. This is a conference regular season game. While I know conference playoff seeding is important, I believe that motivating the players and finding the right lineups in the right situations is more important. Am I happy Mike sat the last 18 minutes, not at all. But in all reality maybe PS is sending him a message that he needs to pull his head out of his A$$ and contribute more than just offense when he's in the game. Mat has said all year, we aren't big and we need help getting rebounds, when our 6'5" SG/SF has 0 the coach won't be happy. I 10000000000% want us to win every game, but on the off chance we lose a couple, all is fine if we win the conference title. If you look at what the team has done since conference season has started is Beat the preseason #1 and then go on the road and be the team that is 5-0. I feel as though this team can beat anyone, anywhere, any night. As long as they believe that as well, are healthy and remain confident by March, you guys need to stop overreacting over every loss. These are 18-23 yr old young men, you can't expect them to be perfect every night they step on the floor. When you work a perfect day all year you can judge them.

    MBB falls to Elon, 75-72

While I agree that I'd rather have ZM taking the shot the last two possessions its not like BS didn't have WIDE open looks. If a Mike, Zane or Brian are open late in the game I want them to have the confidence to make those shots late. While it didn't work in our favor tonight having multiple options late gives us more opportunities to make those shots down the stretch.

Thanks Mat! Was checking this all day yesterday!!!

    Last scholarship

Fully agree here. I think one of Skerry's best attributes is getting his younger guys developed both physically and basketball skills in a short period. Whether its a transfer during their sitting out (Bennimon), a RS Frehman sitting (McNeil/ Tunstall) out or a true freshman playing minimal minutes (Zane).

MBB received one vote in the AP Poll

This is difficult because our deal is with CBSSN and from my knowledge they do not have a streaming deal. In other news, LaSalle lost to Drexel last night, didn't see any of the game but that's not good.

    You know Pitt stinks right?

MBB received one vote in the AP Poll

I love that we have won 20+ in 3 of the last 4 seasons but we still find a way to shoot this program down. During my time at Towson we were hopefully for a winning season, nevermind 20+. This team has a shot to do/be something special. Wins @ Oakland and @ Pitt would be great, but that won't define this season. Mat, is 13 the highest we've ever been ranked in the MM poll?

    MBB pounds Frostburg State, 89-45

Watched a little of CoC last night, got POUNDED by Wichita State. I feel like our athleticism can definitely cause them some problems.

Tippett, Watson lead FB over W&M, 26-14

No matter what happens next week the results of the season are not what we expected and not acceptable. But losing your starting QB week 1 puts you behind the 8 ball when you turn to a redshirt freshman. IMO the defense has been impressive for the majority of the season. If they didn't have to be on the field as much as they have the numbers would be even better. A win at Elon and at Stony Brook would've made this season feel significantly better and probably would've included a trip to the playoffs. So while we want to bury this coaching staff and say how bad they are. I look back I think they've done a pretty damn good job improving this team throughout the season. We played against 4 ranked teams in the best FCS league in the nation, throw in a Big10 team as welll 4-6 isn't all that bad. I fully expect this team to get better as we move forward and just hope we can stop saying coulda, woulda, shoulda and make the playoffs in 2018

    The Redshirts

Mat, I thought Morgan had 1 more year left, you didn't mention him in your write up. He gone? Clearly health has been a concern for him but on the off chance he is healthy for the 2018 season, I am hoping he's around.

OFFICIAL CELEBRATION THREAD -- TOWSON 10, MORGAN 0

I don't want to overreact to one game in crappy weather but my confidence level has decreased a bit.

    Offense was offensive

Rob was not happy with his brother last night. Throwing the ball with 2:30 left in the game up 10-0 earned a "You've gotta be f***ing kidding me"
