I had to SMH during the Miami-Kansas game yesterday. Miami has a guy, Moore, who committed to Memphis, de-committed & went to Cal, transferred from Cal to Kansas, then from Kansas to DePaul, and then from DePaul to Miami. What a farce. Dude’s probably 24 years old and, if he has any eligibility left, I wouldn’t be surprised if he transfers again. I guess the genie is out of the bottle, but it ought to be that you can play immediately after your 1st transfer, but that you have to sit out a year once you’re on your 3rd school. Maybe that would curtail some of the nonsense like a guy playing for 4 schools.

All these guys staying in school for 6 years. Someone ask Jay Bilas why they are? Must be because they are so hard on cash and need the money with NIL…

I understand that we are stuck with what we have in order to support teams. I love the O's and Ravens....but it gets harder. many of my friends who were incredible fans are losing interest year by year. Just saying it is getting tough.

As a sports fan what other option do you have?

Yea. It also will be a big factor of who is back with us.  Nolan cam and Rizzuto did their homework on our team and staff which is just as important as the staff doing the same with them.

if a kid is smart enough to say: ok I do this well but I’m not the most athletic and this team has a hole there. Maybe I should try and go there. Hopefully we see this more with the 1585742 transfers out there instead of in the past guys disgruntled with 8 mpg

Agreed, whoever comes in also has to fit and the current players on the team need to embrace him to the point where they'd be willing to take less shots/dribbles to win a CAA title.

  4. I’ve heard from multiple officials that we were one of the dirtier teams they had this year.

The F1 against Wake, Holden totally baited the kid. Ref should have had a foul on us prior.

that being said. I thought the crew could’ve done a better job managing the game. First half fouls I thought wake was getting marginal calls and we had bodies going to the floor and there was nothing

Fair point. Maybe the thing to do (assuming we’re going to be bringing in 4 portal guys) is to bring in a high ceiling guy who didn’t play much at his old school, along with a bunch of guys with proven track records.

I’d like to think, maybe it’s me being an optimist,  but our more open style of play and our success this season will make us a more attractive landing spot

Beat them by 39.  Over 80 in 3 games and umbc is the number two team in that league.  Conference tournaments hurt smaller leagues way more than they help

Conferences pick how they want their team to be represented in the NCAA tournament. That’s the reason the Ivy League goes with the regular season champ. Supposedly it’s about TV money so I’m not totally sure why the CAA gives a shit since we rely on Flo Sports

As things currently stand, there are 13 teams (for basketball) next season. Whether a14th school joins remains to be seen. Interestingly enough, there are 6 schools to our north (NE, Stony Brook, Hofstra, Monmouth, DE & Drexel) & 6 to our south (W&M, Hampton, NCA&T, UNCW, Elon and C of C). Assuming a 14th school doesn’t join, do we play 24 conference games next season? (2 vs each school). That’s a ton of conference games, and obviously reduces the number of OOC games. Or, is the conference divided into 2 divisions (North and South) for a total of say 18 conference games? (2 each vs the other 6 teams in your conference & 1 each vs the teams in the other conference).

Also, if it is N & S, which conference will we be in? And, if it stays at 13 schools (at least for next season) how do you do the conference tournament? A bye for 1-3 and 4-13 play, to eliminate 5 teams to get to 8, 4, 2, 1?

I think everyone is way over analyzing what a Conference tournament will look like. Whatever the number of teams will be they’ll figure it out. Any league with 13* teams has a double bye. Look at all the P5 schools. That’s what it’ll look like

Pretty rough charge call.  I'd say that's what they've been calling all year and the players need to adjust but that was a straight-line drive to the basket and the secondary defender had no angle.  No way Meeks is going to adjust his drive to the rack on that.  @griggey20, did you see it?

Just watched it. So freaking close. I think he was at the spot before he left his feet.

I know your ok with Towson losing, that’s been noted. And you probably blocked me too. But can anyone verify that datres and griggey aren’t the same person???

I can. Can you get off this board? This is for Towson fans.  Not for people that would rather be right than see wins.

Still the only team with out a caa title trip. After seeing skerry coach year after year in big games. Let’s leave the 18-13 ineligible team out of what if discussions. We know what would have happened

Our all conference players went 11-34 from the field. We ran sets for open shots and they didn’t fall. Our PG who we praised for making the right plays and having a good assist to TO ratio went 0-6 with 4 TO and 1 assist.

Credit to Delaware for putting the pressure on is early but the players flat out choked. We got their best players in foul trouble and cut the lead to 2. If my memory serves me correctly we had 3 wide open 3s and 2 layups in front of the rim. It’s on them. They didn’t make the plays.

I like this team as much as anyone but not one of them stepped up when we needed it. Whether it was a rebound, steal, made shot or any of the above. Kevin Anderson has the biggest balls on the court tonight and he sent us packing. Stop with the BS excuses and finger pointing at anything other than it was.

I know most of you want skerry out but he wasn’t the problem tonight. Get a clue.

Eh.  Both him and siddle could have won it. Both were predicted at the bottom and finished at the top

Fully aware it wouldn’t be part of the consideration but look at the Bball support for uncw vs Towson. Bigger uphill battle for PS in my opinion. He deserved it this year.

Makes sense however I think he surprises us all.  Lets bet a lunch down the line as I’ll be seeing you at NCAA tournament venues as we run off 4-5 appearances in a row!!!  😉

What if CT develops a 3 point shot   Could have another Georges Niang on our hands?

I know its after 12 on the west coast, but you've started the happy hour far too early

He’s not leaving after the season.  Plenty of time to work on that part of his game.
Is he that much different from Malik Rose?

If he hadn’t made so much progress and didn’t have this incredible work ethic then yeah overseas makes sense but I think he has the skill set to find a spot in the league.  Because of a family friend who is playing I’ve been watching all the G League games and I think CT would be better off playing in that league and continuing to work on his game to get to the NBA.  My opinion is all.  I wouldn’t be shocked if he makes it.  Lots to work on but if a guy like Juan Toscano-Anderson can find a spot surely CT can as well.

He can’t shoot, those guys are dinosaurs in today’s NBA. Mat is right about his overseas comment. He’ll make a nice living over there.

If we win the regular season title but lose the CAA tournament do we still get a bid?

Less than 5% chance of that happening.  Our net will be mid 60's at best.  The league doesn't have good enough competition to have us move up, plus the loss in the tourney would hurt our Net rating.  No signature wins.  We would need a MILLION breaks to get the auto bid.
