Great idea in theory and I would guess you would have to get your DVR ready because I am sure they would only broadcast it like 4:00 AM in the morning. I am in the Philadelphia area so I do not know if it is possible, but any chance of a show like that being on NBC Sports DC or MASN? Also here in Philadelphia, Temple has 15 minutes on Saturday mornings that is part of the local ABC Saturday morning newscast. Might be a better option instead of a whole 30 minute show.

Line yesterday was Towson +1 and now has swung to Towson -2.5 . Listing Santa Ana as doubtful

Whatever hints or tidbits Jared will be able use against us moving forward should only last for what one season two max? Conversely we will know what they are running offensively and all his tendencies. I am sure someone might have a note or two about his time at Towson.

Never like to see someone lose their job so I am happy that he left to go elsewhere. Where he is going I don't like. Be careful what you wish for, he is gone yes but need to see who replaces him. Grass is not always greener. Hope I'm proved wrong but just saying

Nice accolade!

8 point underdogs. Call me crazy but if I were a betting man, I think I'd take the Tigers. Not to win, but to cover. Trying to stay with a half full outlook here.

As Mat eluded to, this is the basketball page so maybe getting into stadium expansion is not for the page, but since it was mentioned here, here is what I think. Not knowing if this is true or not, just an opinion based on being part of stadium expansion/building in the past. (Not directly, but have been privy to meetings and discussions of venues that have been built over the past 15 to 20 years. Yes we think of the U as a football stadium, but how many times does that get used for football games? 5 or 6 times a year? Add lacrosse and other sports and that facility is used maybe 50 to 60 times a year for ticketed events? Maybe the expansion of the stadium has football in mind for 5% of it but maybe big picture they are expanding in order to entice other events to come to the U as well. What exactly those events are and would require a larger venue I don't know, but outdoor concerts are becoming bigger and bigger. Hosting other NCAA events and tournament host. There are countless uses for a building that is dark close to 66% of the year. These other events can be another source of revenue for the school which could go towards athletics. Just a thought

Huh? 1) This ain't the A-10 I grew up with so coach needs to lower the pedestal he placed on the conference a little bit. 2) It was George Stinking Washington a team that is and will be at the bottom of the A-10. If George Washington was in our conference they probably would not win it. How is this team being prepared if the head coach was worried about our mental state to face GW?

5.5 point underdogs. Decent shot to get a road win.

Not surprising at all. Mat, great recap, keep doing what you do.

Well according to Bruce Feldman Charlotte has removed its offer to Mike Houston. I guess he has to go to ECU now. Probably better in long run. Maybe Jeff Blake has a year of eligibility left.

Sad that our best OOC home game is against an America East team. Would be a good win for Towson.

Thanks for giving us a platform Mat. Whether it’s bragging or venting or updates love coming to the site.

Football to face Duquesne in first round of FCS playoffs
Blazer49 replied to mat1992's topic in Football Talk
Not surprised we got in, but REALLY surprised we got a home game not that we have any sort of home field advantage, especially since we have lost a couple of games there including last Saturday. The fact it is Thanksgiving Weekend means there will be hardly anyone there. That being said happy to be in the dance and have a chance to compete. Looking forward to watching the game on Saturday on ESPN3. The CAA commissioner should be under fire for the fact that there is no TV contract to see these teams. There is no better way to highlight your conference. Get on TV, get on something that if the game is not on TV it is easily accessible online. CAA.TV does not cut it. -
MBB falls at No. 5 UVa, 73-42 (official story up)

Yes Virginia has a great defensive program, so if that is the reason why it does not appear that we do not have any shooters, I will trust you since you see more of them than I do. As I mentioned in the chat last night though, there is no defense during a free throw. I'll take 44% from the 3 point line but not the foul line -

We all knew we were not going to win this game. I like Timberlake and hopefully him and the other freshman develop as the commentators mentioned on air last night over the next few years. In this age of basketball you need shooters. I may be wrong but I just don't see any on this team right now. 44% from the free throw line? Inexcusable. That stat may even overshadow another glaring one from that stat sheet. I know they only made 17 field goals but we had ZERO ASSIST? Terrible. -
HUGE game have to bounce back. This will dictate how the rest of the season goes more so than Saturday's loss
-
Kind of crazy that they keep it secret even after the fact. Jay Wright tweeted a picture with himself and Roy Williams last week after their scrimmage.
-
Yes yes yes! Big win now we have to build on it. No let down! Great dub Tigers!

I was at the Temple-Villanova game and will be at the game Saturday. This will be a very tough game for us. Villanova beat Temple and they should of beaten them worse than they did. Need to control the ball and no turnovers to have a shot

The Palestra outdated? Mat you just hit me where it hurts the most. The Palestra is the perfect place for the tourney to happen and would give the conference some of the credibility it currently does not have. Perfect size historic and THE place to watch a college basketball game. Forget Cameron, Phog Allan, Hinkle or any other place. The Palestra has hosted more NCAA basketball games than any other venue and it still stands head and shoulders above all others!
-
What a joke. Gives you an idea as to the vision the commissioner’s office has for the future of basketball in the league. A 4,500 seat venue? To me that means they see a continued decline in the conference. Can’t wait for the release in a few years that Calvert Hall High Scholl will host the tournament starting in 2026.
-
Just stole my thunder Mat. It’s inexcuseable that this game and the conference as a whole does not have some sort of decent tv deal with someone we can actually get and or heard of.
-
If it wasn’t for Auburn winning dispite Bruce Pearl it really would of been a bad night for Towson. Amazed at just how easy UMBC guards were able to penetrate and get to the rim. Unfortunately their win and Buffalo beating Arizona basically give Coach Cal and Kentucky a double bye into the Elite 8

Ugh tough way to lose a couple of ball games
