Not sure if it has been mentioned in the past be it on the football or basketball page but I always have to laugh at these kind of post.  I know what these kids mean but when you read it like the one above one can only think.  "Wow Towson must really like this kid.  The sent him 9 offers!"

GCR interview with Dr. Steve at around 17:00 mark

That whole conversation with Dr. E was really strange regarding the GOH Collective.  It kind of reminded me of the Seinfeld episode when George was being pursued by the Mets for their Assistant GM position but they couldn't talk about the lunch they had because of fears of tampering.  Also cannot imagine how hard it is for Dr. E when he was promoting Towson's Day of Giving in basically saying "Hey please pay money here but don't forget about this way to give money too, although I am not supposed to know what and how much is going to this GOH thing..."

  3. Ok this is great and obviously needs to be done.  I do have a couple issues with the marketing of it however.

    1) gohcollective.com, this GOH marketing push is only months old so when you think GOH not sure how many people are thinking Towson.  My point to that is the website where you want people and businesses to go to support Towson Tiger Athletics does not have the word Towson or Tiger in it.  I admit it was a very quick look but I went to two other CAA school athletic sites and the team up north's NIL site is called "The Blue Hen Collective", while Stony Brook's is called "The Seawolve Exchange".  Novel idea that you may want your name as part of your new initiative. It is almost as if they are trying to push the GOH theme more than NIL for Towson Tiger Athletes.

    2) Again like above it was a real quick skim through our website, but my search on towsontigers.com from what I could see HAD NO LINK OR MENTION of the gohcollective.com page as of 10:30 AM April 4.  Are they doing a slow push of marketing?  I would think you would want this page on your athletic website.  I was able to find the UD and SB's collective pages by going through their athletic sites.  All I see is TAF which is very important as well but this new initiative needs to be promoted and not having it on the website is awfully short sighted.

I do not understand why the release of this highly important initiative is not all gas no brakes with it's promotion and having it available and known in as many ways as possible.

Just before I hit submit I went to the Temple Owls website and wouldn't you know it they too in their "collective" have the school's mascot in it's name and it is easily found on their website.

We haven’t played Maryland for years in non-conference play and with new teams in the conference, they had to drop a non- conference game. Recruiting started was before the CAA added Monmouth and Hampton so I can’t agree with that. They are just not getting the job done when it comes to getting better athletes and fundamentally sound players lately. We are turning it over a record pace and the same players are making the same mistakes

The growth of the sport is killing us too.  We used to be able to get quality players because the options for players to go play high level D1 schools was limited.  Used to be if a player didn't go to the Syracuse, Hopkins, or Marylands of the world we had a chance to grab a few of those players.  Now those players have additional options,  Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State.  We can't compete with the Power 5's. As the sport continues to grow and more of the bigger schools start programs, unfortunately I think Towson lacrosse will become similar to Towson basketball.   That may be a slight exaggeration but not too far off.

So you should just forget that they ever had a successful season because they stunk on Sunday? Of course, they deserve the criticism but if you watched the game, Monmouth couldn't f-ing miss. They played a perfect game and deserve all the kudos. My only criticism was that we didn't press earlier. Ten years ago this program was irrelevant. What Coach Richardson and Harper have done has been fantastic. I'm not going to call them chokers because I never thought they were that good to begin with, but you guys do you. Keep adding the SOT moniker for successful teams. SOT was good for when every (major) program stunk.

I typed my statement and do not recall using the word "chokers".  I reread it again numerous times after your response and still do not see the word "chokers" in my response.  I am the one that suggested we start calling our program the Teasing Tigers, I didn't mention that.  I am also in team SOT, but I do not recall typing or seeing that in my response either.  All I was eluding to was that if you were reading this thread about the game without knowing the score you would have thought that it was a relatively close game but kudos to Monmouth.  I gave my flowers of praise to a good season and what they overcame and hope for more, but they still lost by TWENTY FIVE POINTS at home to let me check UCONN, no, Iowa, no, Maryland, no, MONMOUTH, yes.

  6. Yes the women had a good year and yes I hope the program has continued success, but how come it seems like people are acting like they lost by five points?  They lost by TWENTY-FIVE points at home as the number 1 seed.  No matter how well or how a team is playing in this conference no way they should lose by 25 points at home, no less to the 7th seed.  Hopefully they can go up to Haahvard and get the bad taste of yesterday out of their mouths.

Apologies in advance if this scenario has already been addressed in a different thread but have we considered a situation where Pat Skerry is poached by another school in this upcoming coaching carousel?  Take a look at the list that has already started to grow of programs that are in the market for a new coach.....is it impossible to think that a Manhattan or a Wofford wouldn't consider Pat as a viable option.....that they could get fixated on his "great run of 20 win seasons"....

Take a look at the teams in the "Other Openings" .....the list will continue to grow.....maybe one of them can take Pat off our hands.

As much as most of us would like to see a change at the coaching position and as bad as the CAA is collectively as a conference, I know you only used Manhattan and Wofford as examples of openings, but I think it would be an embarrassment if PS left for a lateral move at best to go to a MAAC or Southern Conference school.

  8. Teasing Tigers I am telling you that is what we should call our athletic teams.  Halftime with Towson up 5 I hammered the Charleston +2.5 line.  1) Because I am a Towson fan and like everyone on here always will be, I knew more than likely what the outcome would be and would have been more than happy to take the monetary loss if they somehow hung on and advanced to the final.  But a last as most all of the social media post say after any Towson sports program loss "Fought hard until the end"-Instagram or "Towson men's basketball battles, but falls..."  Like I said earlier in the season we equate to the old line "She has a great personality" we all know what that means!
