  1. HUGE crossroad this Athletic Department and the programs we care about are at.  Stating the obvious but this next hire will be the biggest and most important in school history.  Is this next hire going to be all through the Pres?  There is no money to spend to hire a search company to help  although I think when you see that on most schools statements it just window dressing anyway.

Too early in the season for me to get a true betting opinion.  Two games with nearly polar opposite results.  A stay away for me.  For those who follow or pay attention to such things, the HBCU's which usually automatic fades in betting when they play OOC have had a decent start ATS.

    Well... That was yesterday

    lets see.

PFT while you are at it can you add a line about how much the Flosports deal sucks?  In a pinch use it as a concession.  We will drop the JMU issue if you end the Flosports deal and provide a platform to watch games people have heard about?

  4. At a time when good leadership is necessary does any one have any confidence as far as Towson is concerned?  Look at the CAA commissioner, do we have any confidence in him?  Now compound that with the thought that we have at minimum the same low level of confidence in our own Athletic Director.  The seas in which Towson is currently travelling has no one in my mind that can guide us into safer waters.  We are in a scary predicament and not excited right now about any possible outcome for Towson at the end of this road.

  5. Ok, like others have mentioned I am one that does not like to see pretty much anyone lose their job.  I am coming around and agree that a change has to be made.  Now I know a lot of other posters on this thread do know and can help me out with years remaining on contracts.  I say contracts because there is probably a need for a change in at least one other sport.  We have to be realistic with our schools finances and IF there are any changes this off season I think it is fair to say those changes could only happen in one sport.  So all of that being said we would need to "prioritize"  if we could only choose one which coach would you want to see go out of Ambrose, Skerry or Nads?  I assume Nads is a distant third on this group but wanted to throw another option in.

    Thoughts?

I’d like to play mount ooc every few years but no to them joining the caa.

Don’t know what the offices in Richmond and on auburn drive do when Jmu leaves.  Hope there is a plan in place but I’m not holding my breath. We are in a unique spot compared to some other schools in the colonial

Relying on a conference commissioner that introduced us to Flosports does not invoke a lot of confidence in the caa's future.

Looks like volleyball continues to be a bright spot in the Towson sports world. 12-0 in non conference play with just dropping 4 sets total.

Props to the volleyball team.  To help some of us who do not know the volleyball terrain, any upsets in these 12 matches or were they exoected to win those matches?

I wish I could print all the off-the-record stuff from the coaches over the 3+ decades I've been doing this, have said to me. But I can't. If I did, nobody would want to talk to me. It's off-the-record for a reason and what you are going to get for the most part is fluff and repetition on-the-record. Nobody wants to throw players under the bus. Nobody wants to diss an opponent that they might see again or a coach or a program. The best on-the-record comments are usually after games when coaches get emotional sometimes blurt out things they'd like to take back.

I do find both coaches very easy to talk to, even after most games. I understand the fans don't give a crap about that and only want results. But I've been pretty fortunate to have access to things like summer practice and even preseason practice in football and hoops, when many D1 coaches will close them or are very selective at what you can see.

We should also see more clips and videos. More interviews from the revenue sports. Promote them. Push them. The athletic dept. can control those things and edit it. These aren't garbage teams. We've had teams that weren't worth promoting. But fans need to know about the players instead of having to do the research themselves or reading our board.

Sniff, sniff hmmm.  do I smell burner account?  You can use it to give us a juicy off the record story from time to time!  Great name for it Mat(t)1992!  What do you think?  LET'S GO!!!

  9. Yea, let's continue to fall further and further into obsurity!  I didn't even realize until I read this release the Flosports charges more than ESPN+.  I truly do not get why this conference contniues to work with Flosports.  IF and that is a big IF they are getting more from Flosports than they would with a deal with ESPN, it amount they are getting more cannot equal the amount of exposure they are losing out on by being on a service that serves good for no one.

  10. Never saw this when it was originally posted.  Very nice documentary!  Loved the story by Landetta "Lawrence Taylor one day said 'Hey Landetta! Where the f**k is Towson State?'"  I think that quote should go on t-shirts and brochures.  For obvious reasons they really could not do anything or mention Meggett, but like a previous poster said it would have been nice to Vinson.

  11. Jeff Bolser after he was done playing baseball played on my intramural softball team.  Not sure how and where softball is played now, but we use to play on the Burdick Field which I beleive is all turf now.  Anyway one of the softball fields was right next to what is now Scherholtz Park.  The softball backstop ws near the 3rd base dugout of the baseball field.  Anyway Jeff hit a softball on to the top level of the parking garge.  It was a BOMB!
