Fire Nadalen!!! Just kidding. Man 0-5 for a lacrosse school isn't a good luck. Especially getting drubbed by local schools. Any good young players/recruits in the pipeline??

Yeah, saw that going through. Looks like he also has the NCAA appearance + 1 clause

This is a pretty big game for Skerry. not only can he get the monkey off his back of failing in the CAA Tournament, he's got a cool 10K on this game.

I assume our Athletic Department counts non D1's

The CAA Tournament is one of the most predictable ones in the NCAA. Just hypothetical seeing what others think of a change to the format like the WCC, OVC and Sunbelt where it would go:
8 VS 9---Winner VS 5--- Winner VS 4---Winner VS 1
10 VS 7---Winner VS 6---Winner VS 3---Winner VS 2
1 and 2 seeds get a Triple Bye to Semis 3 and 4 seeds Double Bye 5 and 6 Single Bye

1)Kurk Lee
2)Gary Neal
3)Jerrell Benimon
4)Terrence Jacobs
5)Brian Fobbs?
6)Marty Johnson (Richmond transfer and should be in HOF) Avg around 16ppg and 4.5 apg in two seaosns)
7)William Adala Moto
8)Mike Burwell
9)Ralph Guthrie
10)Dennard Abraham
Junior. Wasn’t CC Williams a 2 year juco too?
-
Good to see. Brian had such a difficult start to this season from 3. And has been very good since the poster at Morgan state. One of the best two year players we’ve ever had. Best juco in recent memory

The roster changes every year, assistant coaches come & go and yet Towson hasn't been able to get over the hump in the CAA tournament. The one constant: Pat Skerry. Regular season winning streaks are nice......however, at this mid-major level, in this conference the ONLY winning streak that matters is the one you need to get on in the conference tournament. At this point in the Skerry era, I could not care less about winning 19 regular season games if there isn't a meaningful post-season payoff in the form of the NCAA Tournament.....NOT the CBI, CTI, CVS, CNN, etc. This is all on Pat......let's hope, to your point, HE has learned how to make better adjustments when the stakes are at there highest.

Just now, Chris Datres said:Credit @RundaPower for the 'bad hedging' post in the postgame thread. I don't like how we can't edit posts after we've navigated away from the page after making one.
We always have and seem to always will hedge hard and high on screens. We get moving to much and everyone over-rotates to help and we leave shooters open. That needs to be cleaned up as Brace and Roland can shoot the 3

Let's get this started:
Game against a tough team with championship pedigree. Sunday at 8:30 PM! Need a good showing down in DC

Not sure how well he is doing his job.. His list is definitely missing someone...

There is no question that he WILL NOT stop hedging. That his philosophy and has been since he got here. I agree with getting the ball in to Sanders.

Really on Murphy? If so yikes. He gives us fits and adds a true big man. He got hurt early on and thought he was going to red shirt. The NE fans seem to think walker would be back

Just now, bucketsandbirds said:Agree, if they lose a 3-7 record In the tournament is hard to defend.
That said, they will be relying on alot of youth next weekend, Gibson, Betrand and Thompson are all young. But tournament time is time to grow up and show you belong. I hope they do.
It would be 2-7. And we also rely on 2 5th year seniors, a 4 year senior and if healthy a 4 year junior. We aren’t running out 4 freshman like Elon is

Im doubtful it’ll happen, but I’d like to see Gray in uniform next Sunday
Even if he just comes out in warm ups for “show” and sits on the bench dressed. Gives hem something to think about.
I know he got hurt against Drexel but does anyone know what injuryTyson walker suffered?

9 minutes ago, mat1992 said:Not sure I would put Gray in that category. Even if he's back, I don't know if I want him on the floor late in games. No way he's 100%. But sure, have Dottin inbound it and take Timberlake out. I think Gibson's slight frame makes it a bit more difficult for him to get open with all that traffic. But, you're right. Dottin might be the guy, though his FT shooting is iffy. Let's say he gets the ball to Betrand, he gets doubled and gives it back to Dottin who is 22 of 31, which isn't bad at 71%, but he's had very few opportunities. Gibson is 57 of 64, which is 89.1% and Four territory. He needs to get to the line more in the future.
I was talking about a healthy gray

Just now, TSU88 said:I’m no coach, but it occurred to me at the end of the game, when we struggled 2X to inbound the ball, that it would be nice to have Gibson, a great foul shooter, not being the guy inbounding the ball, but instead having 1 of the bigs do it. I guess PS trusts Gibson’s decision making as far as inbounding, but how nice would it be to have the guy throwing it in have 3 great foul shooters (Gibson, Betrand & Fobbs) to have as options
I only got the last few minutes of the game on the radio and thought the same thing. Maybe have dottin In to inbound? Him inbounding to a gray Gibson betrand and fobbs quartet would be deadly

People are so quick to reaact and say the sky is falling. I said early on this is one of the most balanced teams Towson has had in a while and was an early fan of Gibson, even though he had many detractors.
Of course the cries thst it means nothing if they don't beat NE next Sunday will dominate this thread. That's the nature of the internet.
But I say enjoy it for a week and give these kids and the coaching staff credit, for the turnaround.
Lol. Getting boat raced the first 3 games of caa play wasn’t good. A tight game late at Uncw facing 0-4 start would have been bad. Glad I and others were wrong.
7-2 on the road is really something. They’ve won them different ways too which is impressive. They are going to need to bring it next Sunday. NE isn’t a bad as their 9-9 record is. They were missing their second best player/freshman of the year Today.
As mat said we need the early February betrand back.
And of course the pitch forks would be back with a loss. That would be 2-7 which is beyond unacceptable.
-
Yes. It means what 1-2 more weeks of practice at minimum? That can’t hurt. I agree though having gray back would help the decision.
Dont see us paying to be in it

6 hours ago, mat1992 said:The CAA ranks 16 of 32 conferences in the latest RPI. That is still mid major and yes, the SoCon is 13. America East is 21, the definition of a good low major conference.
We used to be 8-12 and put multiple teams in the dance. Transfers hurt just as much as the defections of the Virginia schools.
Scheduling is bad. Charleston and ne over the last 5 years have been the only ones to get and bear consistently good teams. It’s not all our fault as bigger teams won’t play us. But NCAA units are HUGE to smaller conferences. 1 a year isn’t going to cut it. Something needs to change
-
Yeah it’s either NE 830 If we win or Delaware 230 if with lose. I’m down there all tournament so time doesn’t matter... prefer the last time slot so I can enjoy the earlier games.
In another post I mentioned how they need to move back to a fri-mon or to a thurs-sun format. We really aren’t on tv so who cares/is the competition? A 4 game Saturday and then semi Sunday would have to draw a lot more than then what they have now. Uncw and Charleston doing good in the first two years at N Charleston helped. DC Or Baltimore is the best place for the conference now. It’s in the Middle East to get to for almost all teams and fans. No one has and advantage. Let’s face it, we could go 22-6 and 16-2 in caa and wouldn’t come close to putting 4K in rofo. Especially if the baby turtles are playing somewhere.
-
So we avoid Charleston until the finals if we make it that far. They will be 4 with a win by us tomorrow or a 3 with a loss
-

Riller is on fire. As are the entire pride. We angered them

10 minutes ago, RundaPower said:What is your definition of a “strong conference “?
The gap in the have and have nots in hoops has gotten large lately and will continue.
A conference that wins 1-2 ncaa tournament games in a decade. Caa hasn’t. I guess if you count jmu 16-16 matchup they did. Ncaa units are valuable to the conference. The final four and a10 defector units are gone.
If any time besides Hofstra doesn’t win the tourney, we will probably get a 15 seed.
Socon has took our spot recently. Caa is a good low major conference now. Sorry, but it’s the truth.
MLax falls at UMBC 10-5

I was joking about firing him! Honestly don't know/care/follow lacrosse much. But it's nice to have a team win and go far as this program has. I just go off scores and what I see and hear on here. But looks as though womens lacrosse has been in a rut for a bit and this is a lost season for the mens team.
