  1. Nice to see the families will be able to see games but does not really impact things.

Since Lax is trash this spring, I don't foresee any reason the 'general public' would be interested in attending games until fall football season. The NDSU game is the biggest game in the history of Towson football. We need to be promoting that now and figuring out a plan for fans to attend safely. (vaccine required? if we can actually get them to the general population)

  2. pretty cool and good for her, get that money. Hopefully she will get drafted and can have a long wnba career. it will be nice to have a towson alum in the top flight of pro basketball again. i always liked checking the nba nightly stats for gary neal's line.

  3. SD is an awesome city and the gaslamp district (downtown ish), where the Padres play is super cool and walkable.  But SDSU's/the old Chargers stadium is not near the beach or downtown at all so it's not like we are missing anything by playing in Carson. Both are just stadiums in the middle of SoCal suburbs.

Carson is like 15 minutes away from LA's South Bay Beach Towns and Long Beach.  Regardless you are driving to the game in either SD or LA so still worth the trip IMO. Chill on the south bay beaches (super nice), eat some good LA food and watch Towson in the Cali sun.

Go to SD on vacation, another time if you can.  I missed going to a Padres game because of Covid this year but I can't wait to go back.

Imao I originally typed that in my reply. Her immediate impact has been amazing. We are a contender for another CAA championship and what is this year 3?

It's 2021, let's try something new. She should be CEO of Towson Basketball (regardless of gender). Runs both programs and spend the MBB HC savings on more assistant coaches for both programs.

Coach comes from a business background, it's not that crazy of a concept to run multiple business lines. Also, she is from the DC area, not Baltimore, so that makes me happy. 🙂

  5. I thought Delaware was our geographic rival and we always played them? Did that change once they got rid of the old north/south divisions?

Montana and Montana State both opted-out recently. They decided to play just two games, one with each other and the other vs d2 schools, as basically their spring game vs each other. I'm kind of surprised more schools didn't go that route. JMU and NDSU will be beaten up by the time we see them, a good thing for us, but shitty for those kids.

  6. i'm warming to this idea.

Leonard has not unlocked the massive fundraising he was supposed to. Skerry just can't adapt, his style is slow and boring. You get upsets and have big wins as a mid-major by having lights out offensive guard play. this the UMBC UVA upset a few years ago. The UMBC kid hit like a billion threes

  7. I lost all interest in sports after the Caps sucked for the first week back this summer.  Watched zero NBA, MLB, non caps hockey, college BB or football, and only like 3 different random quarters NFL.  Regardless of the sport, the games are just bad to watch since everyone is underprepared, out of shape and there is no fan atmosphere.

Just shut it down and start over after the vaccine is fully out

Not sure what you are getting at. Travel partners this year are just for the "last two games" 10 teams, 18 games, If they went 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 all the way, some teams would have 8 home games and 10 away and others 10 and 8, which wouldn't be fair. Yes, home games matter, even with no fans.

Charleston, UNCW and Elon could all likely have fans. Would think JMU would push the state for some as they have the new arena. The NE schools govts won't allow

Yeah I guess I just don't mind some schools having 10 vs 8 home games. It's also not "fair" that you might get one school back to back early in the season before they improve or a top school later in the season after a some big injury. The schedule is already clearly not balanced with the back to backs or what teams you get at home twice vs away. Just minimize the travel more and ban fans league-wide.

I think it's stupid to even consider fans at all. Have we learned nothing from outbreaks at events and college kids being wreckless AF?

  9. I not surprised by this at all. I'm not going to care about football in the spring and I don't care about the power 5 or nfl now. Sports are not the same during covid and w/o fans (and no way should fans be in attendance at all). I lost interest very quickly in covid time sports after the first bubble NHL and NBA games. Sorry..zoom cut ins and cardboard cuts out just don't do it for me even on TV. I'm also not going to risk dying to see sports live.

As much as I want the NDSU game to be a packed, crazy stadium we have to seriously wonder if that is even going to happen at this point.
