One positive as I look ahead at the schedule is we get Monmouth (paybacks) then Charleston, NC A & T (1-0 but 3-11 overall) and finish with UNCW. At least we get two of the upper echelon teams late to prepare for the conference tournament. If we got stuck with a Campbell or say Hampton for the last couple of games it would probably show in our first round game. We should still get Hicks back eventually which would help… our backcourt duo combined for 55 minutes.. 28 points and only 2 turnovers! Stony Brook come Thursday. Used to be Seinfeld 📺 9pm and then Casa Mia’s for 50 cent pizza 🍕 slices and $1 plate wings. SB shot 8-19 from 3 today but unfortunately let CofC shoot 13-29 🫣 Enjoy the win for we are Towson and could come back and shoot 1-18 from 3

Speaking of poaching… Florida backcourt combined for 46 points today. Pullin from UC Riverside and Clayton Jr from Iona. It is what it is and as Jay Bilas said in the broadcast today a player like Antonio Reeves at Kentucky we would have really not known about if he had stayed at Illinois State. I see the pros and cons but I wish they brought the sit out a season for transferring back.

Said at the end that they have to coach Jones and Sula better at driving to the basket and getting fouled.

Florida pissed that game away today. Kentucky young and dumb but of course they are so athletic. Tarke sitting a lot of games and today he showed us the kind of player he truly is. After Thursday when we were all ready to jump off we truly needed this win today against a legit CAA opponent. Only wish I were there to enjoy it in person and that cold weather.. walk over to L & N Seafood (that was the spot back in the early 90’s) for some clam chowder…. hit CVP later. So many fond memories of Towson and wintertime.

I said this years ago.. PS got the program stabilized but then you needed to pass the baton to the next coach. What USF did from Rex Walters to Kyle Smith. That didn’t happen so I put my head down as an alum/fan and supported PS. He is a great guy and of course want him to succeed. Although I love some of the freshman he brought in and landing a Watson type player was huge but he’s hurt and these other guys have been so so. Do you bring in a long time assistant from a big time program aka Tommy Lloyd but is he thriving at Arizona more because of the NIL money etc they have in place in addition to their reputation etc? Do you take a coach from a smaller program who had success like a Mark Pope who goes from Utah Valley to BYU? Do you go the retread route and hire a Tom Crean or what San Diego did with Steve Lavin? Or what Grand Canyon did with Bryce Drew after his stint at Vandy! Steve Alford at Nevada! Bounce back coaches. Can we sway Luke Murray away from Louisville? Sons of great coaches doesn’t work.. what is Mark Prosser doing at Winthrop? He’s been so so after one great season to start! Do we go the mercenary route like a Pitino type of coach who brings his name but also his baggage etc? Or what Cal State Northridge did last year getting Andy Newman who had success at San Bernardino in D2? We as a fan base are beyond exhaustion so we’d all sell our souls for a guaranteed winner. Game 1 of 18 conference games and me being the ultimate optimist can’t fathom we could be that inept yesterday in our first conference game. I’m 50 and now truly terrified I won’t see us dance before I die. Help me ObiWan…. you are my last hope!

Omg. I totally remember that trip where the bus 🚌 got stuck in the snow and they used PK’s jacket. Bravo. A Jimmy V asst couldn’t even bring us any positive juju to this program.

Morning after…. 1-15 from 3 and we still can’t beat them. We played Monmouth right?? Can’t open up CAA play like a hot mess.

Rock bottom. 17 games left. Hope a plan is in place. Pat sounded defeated and broken in the post game. Monmouth shot 1-15 from 3 and their big man went 1-9 from the field. We held Rice to 5 points in the first half but then got his in the second half. Watson, Conway, Hicks.. we don’t seem to have much luck like other schools. At a loss anymore.. can’t open up league play that “ disconjointed “ Coach had 13 games to figure out what kind of team he has and how to play and we lack identity and a lead player like Monmouth had with Rice.

Our ride starts soon.. CAA play has arrived. 1991 and now 2024.. it is time!!!

CT had 11 & 11 last season against Monmouth. Need at least that and more to win.
