Perfect time for the 2022-23’ season to really ramp up the non conference schedule even more although I’m sure some games already decided. But maybe Pat can add some really challenging games. The WCC went super aggressive with non conference schedule and it is paying off.

Whoever wins is a 16 seed.. tough game.

Still hurts this morning but I’m more excited for the NIT than I probably should be.. build our brand and lets hope it helps us landing impact transfers for 2022-23’ San Diego let their coach go. I’m not sure TJ Berger is a fit but as more coaches are given pink slips it opens opportunities for us to snatch a player or two. I’m not a fan of signing a freshman and then pushing him out the door early if he doesn’t pan out but that is the norm now and I get it. Still think we gotta do a better job of landing a Euro or Aussie to play for us. I know we tried in the past and last kid didn’t work out but I’d still be banging the phones to land one. You watch Saint Mary’s play and it is a slow grind but Bowen & Dumas (Aussies) 6’7-6’8 200+ are the type of player we need to add. Easier said then done of course. Get CT some more help inside.

I’m a lot more optimistic because of the transfer portal going into next season. I think more guys are interested in coming to Towson after a 25 win season and the fact that we have a reputation, good and sometimes bad, for shooting the 3. Don’t underestimate how important having the core of Charles, Nic & Jason has been and these guys are only gonna get better in 2022-23’. Of course we need to add a slasher, another big to help CT and more shooters etc etc. We’ve never played in the NIT so I’m looking forward to that first game and how we respond. Getting our trio some more meaningful games can only help us for next season. Ultimately we gotta get lucky again like we did with Cam and then hope Hicks takes the next step and our two incoming freshman are even better than advertised. None of us are going anywhere for next season. We all love Towson.

Did we win 25 games this season? I can’t tell now from this discussion. Yes I get we didn’t get it done and make the big dance. We reshuffle the deck and hope to add some more pieces to help our core finally get it done. It hurts and by all means vent but beating up what is already a small fan base not gonna get us anywhere. I’d like to see Skerry add another Asst to help get us over the top next season.

We have the core of Gibby, Nic and CT coming back. I’m hoping some transfers will want to join these guys and we make another run.

Despite the loss and yeah it hurts. 32 years and counting. Charles Thompson played when most guys wouldn’t be able to go…. proud he’s a Towson player. We came up short. Let’s make a run in the NIT!

I go back to the first game against Delaware (1-24) Charles had 15 and Nolan had zero points. No clue what we may get from CT tonight however we know we have Nolan who is healthy and playing his best basketball. Need contributions from entire team to win but I think Nolan gonna have the game of his Towson career tonight. Call it a hunch. Go Towson. I’m sick and tired of fellow alums I know (not on this board) who sit in the weeds ready to knock this program.. it is like they enjoy us having failure and I never understand that. So to the naysayers who text me.. “just wait for them to shit the bed.. they always let us down etc” NOT TONIGHT!!! This team has never relied on one player to win this season. All hands on deck.

Absolutely. Willis hit them first couple of shots and the rest is history. That crowd roar when he came out of the tunnel was magical. CT is one tough son of a bitch.. he can play! I’m sure looking over at Cam will give him the courage.

What a proud day it is. I’m wearing my Towson Tigers hat and just reflecting on my time there from 91-96’ and just so many fond memories of the campus and sports teams. This team and coaching staff really has given us a fun ride and more to come. Props to Mat for being consistent with this message board.. I slipped away at times in the past.. Always following but not posting with raising kids etc. Now I want to 🕺 but I’d also love to purchase a CAA Regular Season Champs shirt to wear to Greenville, Buffalo, San Diego, Portland, Fort Worth, Milwaukee or Pittsburgh.. please no Dayton as need more time to plan trip.

Saturday February 5th was the turning point for this team and all of our fan base. We shoot 1-15 from 3 and allow Northeastern to get their first conference win. And I said that same day.. only a bump in the road this time.. not the sinkhole like previous seasons before. We go on to win the last 6 games after. Pat Skerry and staff deserve a ton of credit. 11th season and although we have a lot of talent I think he did a great job coaching it up this regular season. Now we need 3 more to really make this a stellar season but I’m elated right now with a 24-7 record and fellow alum who have always mocked our basketball program and are forced to pay their respects now. Good things tend to happen to good people and Pat Skerry is one of the good guys in college basketball.
