I see us getting win #20 today if.. CT gets 10-12 shots up. Went 5-8 in last meeting. Gibby makes 2 or more 3’s. 0-3 last meeting. Mr Nolan gets his 10 points or more. 1-8 last meeting. Big games at SECU haven’t been kind to us. I like our chances on the road and coming up big. In Cam we trust. I don’t see anyone on that roster that can neutralize him.

I’m not sure the lack of students attending games is only a Towson issue. Here at USF they struggle to get students in seats but they use the excuse of having so many international students etc. We all have to keep masks on here and attendants carry signs around reminding fans to keep masks on. Such a crazy bubble here. HS games players still have masks on. Outside I’d say 70% of residents wearing masks.

Charles is now shooting around 62% from the field. 10+ shots a game the rest of the way. What an awesome win today a week after such a heartbreaker and hence why I knew this group only hit a bump in the road a week ago. 19 wins!!! 5 games left.. the back to back with James Madison will be tough to sweep but I don’t see why we can’t go 3-2 or better. Mat goes above and beyond covering Towson sports and it is greatly appreciated. This forum is good because we all don’t agree on various topics and the banter is enjoyable. We all know the situation and even I questioned if we are a jinxed program at times but I honestly believe we are gonna finish strong this season and make a case to win in DC. Best thing we can do is support these college athletes and coaches and listen, watch or be in attendance this coming week. In addition.. no clue of the $$ situation but if I’m the Towson AD then I’m gonna buy a block of tickets for DC and ask Towson 🏀 alumni from close and far away to attend the games and really try to pump this team up. Damas spoke this week. Love hearing Chuck on the radio.. more ex players the better I say. Good things happen to good people trying to do the right thing. Pat Skerry is a class act and he’s gonna get it done for us. We are 17-7.. we are legit. We pissed away a game and it happens at every level. The team knows it. They will bounce back. A year ago at this time we were what 3-12 and dropped back to back games to Charleston. Biekeu played 28 minutes in the double OT loss and he can’t get in the rotation this season. We shot 3-18 from 3 in the second loss of that weekend. Not saying we will crush W&M this Thursday like we did last month however CT only played 21 minutes due to foul trouble. We didn’t have Nolan that game. Nic & Gibby combined for 15-28 from the field. We match up well against the Tribe. They will get some shots up this week and be ready come Thursday. This is a 20+ win team which a month ago many questioned even that and now look at us. 6 1/2 to play. We will go 5-2 or better.

Bump in the road which in past seasons could and would turn into a pothole and then inevitably a sink hole.. not this season guys. This group will bounce back this week and get Nolan back. We’ve come too far to let this season slip away. Let’s focus on the positives today.. Cam is a stud.. played hurt per Pat! Charles will continue to score more the rest of the way. AR plays great defense for us. Hicks gave us 14 minutes with no turnovers. Put that work in this week.. shots will fall again. Nic needs to be more consistent and he knows it. We’ve played such a tight rotation and once we get Nolan back it will ease the minutes strain on other guys. I’m confident. Gonna beat the Tribe by 15 on Thursday and we will shoot 40% from 3.

AR not gonna shoot 1-8 from 3 tomorrow but that being said we need a big offensive game from our masked man who had 18 last time. 11am tip here on the left coast. I’ll be listening but I’ll feel a bit squeezed on the bandwagon as so many long suffering Towson State fans are coming out of the woodwork. I still think Gibby has 2-3 more lights out from 3 🍛 like games left and yes he plays better with Nolan but remember he had 22 against William & Mary without Terry on the floor. Plenty of time to get Nolan back and into a groove and get that god damn Stark Industries Mask in the mail. As always I love and appreciate all the input etc.. great stuff. One statistic that blows me away being that he’s played with a mask and asked to handle so much more this season. Cam Holden has 59 assists to 57 turnovers while averaging 34 minutes a game. That is amazing! How lucky are we to have another season of CT for 22-23’.. I said this before that despite lacking bigs in the past when we did have one contribute they’d end up being a senior and be done. Charles now being a huge presence in the CAA needs to get to the line more. Only 33-58 shooting 56%. Compare that to Painter who is 93-116 shooting 80%. Get inside and if the shot doesn’t fall get fouled. He can easily work on this part of his game. PS said it when he was a freshman.. he has a tremendous motor and work ethic. This is why I won’t be surprised after Towson if he lands in the G League. We are gonna be a tough out these last 8 1/2 games. Pat and staff have done a great job coaching it up this season. 16-6 and 7-2 without your starting PG for a long stretch. I don’t care what league we play in.. that is great coaching!

A priest taught Kareem the sky hook back in NYC grade school. I’m just a huge fan of CT cause despite some rough games he’s been durable and bleeds Tiger yellow and black. What a tremendous young man to represent Towson. I made the comment in the chat.. despite playing only 10 minutes Hicks made no turnovers…. a freshman guard mind you. Paar gave us solid minutes today. Gray is our best player off the bench! These “3” players could decide a game in DC! 16-6 just rolls off the tongue so nicely! This team has a lot of offensive balance this season with the emergence of CT I hope Nolan gets back in action for this stretch run… really would make us the favorite to win the CAA

Trying to think back when the floor mops were introduced and used every game? Mat would remember better than me.. early 90’s I think it was just a student with a towel that would run over and wipe up.. no one stationed behind the basket. Always been kids or young adults doing the job. Wonder what the protocol is to approve the court conditions to play tomorrow? CAA representative have to be present and inspect?

This is truly something. Was working and a fellow alum texted me the game was suspended etc. Was it a packed house tonight? Our damn luck. Well I’ve only heard of the multipurpose arenas where the ice under the hardwood floor caused a cancellation. Hopefully Painter isn’t seriously hurt. When we make the dance and CBS does the story on this Towson team they will have a ton to discuss that may intrigue the rest of the country… our PG becomes a father and then has health issues we are still trying to figure out. We have a player that returns after an Achilles tear. A player who loses his grandmother after playing the game of his life. Our coach who started the whole Autism Awareness in college basketball. A fan base that hasn’t been to the dance in 30+ years. Probably throw in a Elaine from Seinfeld reference. For sure calling us Townsend State etc. Drexel Saturday and may I suggest an actual “toga party” at SECU to reverse our current negative press! Absolutely go through for an established big from a lower mid major conference. So many out there who may want a change of scenery and a better conference. EG: Josh Cohen w/St Francis (6’10” Sophomore) (11 & 6 a game) Or if a coach is being fired from a bigger school with a big who hasn’t found any playing time and would be better off playing for a mid major. EG: Gabe Wiznitzer w/Louisville (6’11” Sophmore) Obviously tried this with the USC kid and it didn’t work out Or go out and get a Euro with some college experience or who has played for his country’s national team at some level. Rolling the dice but it has worked for a lot of programs. How many solid Nigerians are playing in college all over the country and we never get our hooks into one! Or get someone from the Ivy League as a grad transfer who wants to play in a better league (I think CAA is a bit better than Ivy right?) EG: Cam Krystkowiak w/Dartmouth (6’9” Junior) Just throwing out names for fun. In the end it’s all about our coaching staff and past relationships.. hence why I like to see from time to time new assistants on the staff. USF landed Yauhen Massalski from San Diego because they hired Chris Gerlufsen as a Associate Head Coach and he had the relationship. Not gonna change Clark or O’Donnell but sometimes you add an assistant who brings all his recruiting contacts.
