    MBB falls at Northeastern 80-75

USF fan. But see a ton of St Mary’s games. And yes what a pipeline they have. Aussies coming every year and they are so mature, fundamentally sound and more important.. tough hard nosed kids. Then you got BYU and their whole scam that’s been accepted... 23 and 24 year olds still playing. Good points on the rest of the CAA... now I’m depressed Ha

With the exception of Knight... rest are juniors and a senior. My point is JG is a sophomore. He has arrived. 2 more seasons with him. Not every guy comes into a program and plays right away. Bigs take longer to develop. Sorry I didn’t get that vibe at all from Gorham. I see a guy who is used to winning and gets frustrated. Skerry continues to recruit better talent... showing my age I know but you should have seen some of these guys that rolled into the Towson Center before our 1-31 season. At one point we had a Canadian player that was only known for dunking and never helped us. McNeil and Prophete I hope come back next season and make some of us eat our words. Enjoy the discussion.

    MBB falls at Northeastern 80-75

Back to the bright spot of Gorham having a huge game. I understand we all have expectations but I want to point out that bigs tend to take longer to develop. Many don’t play much their freshman year and then it really starts to click halfway through their sophomore season. We have this player for two more seasons and I’m elated. I have witnessed this first hand watching many bigs in the West Coast Conference Jock Landale with St Mary’s is a perfect example and same path as JG. Am I saying he’s gonna be POY... no! Just please give Bigs more patience please... How many mid major bigs are impact players in their first 2 seasons!!?? I think he’s gonna have 2 great seasons coming up

No Skerry in the postgame. Foul shooting was putrid. JG with 28. Who wanted him to possibly transfer!? Ha. He and Zane should be our 1-2 punch next season. Kept cutting it to 4 and that was it.

    Since Skerry became coach

Love the First Union reference. It truly fit Philly. FU Center. Sad they changed sponsors. Philly the one city where the Big 5 always play each other. No matter what Villanova is ranked they still play Penn. I’m a believer in Skerry and he’s gonna get it done. We have so much better talent coming through the door now. I’ll be there when we make the dance whether it’s Dayton Ohio or Portland Oregon. We have come too far not to think we won’t ... 58 years for my Eagles 27+ for our Tigers... no sweat When I was at the Burkshire Marriot for the Elon game I spoke to JG in the lobby. He and Zane are gonna get it done for us before they leave. I’m calling it now. I’ll be sending pics with my Towson gear on from the Golden Gate Bridge either basking in our glory or jumping off.

    Since Skerry became coach

3 time National Champions (long time ago of course.. see Bill Russell) Fixed up Gymnasium. Students just don’t support the product. So it’s not just a Towson thing. With respect to scheduling... good luck. Mid Majors who average 17-20 wins a season are lucky to get home games against BCS schools. And it’s usually a 2 for 1 proposal. Unless you are Gonzaga or Wichita State right now.. so tough to land big schools at your home gym. I like you younger fans wanting more. I do too but patience is a virtue. I’m giving PS two more seasons to get us to the dance. Then we can start looking.

MBB falls at home to Northeastern, 77-62

Skerry comes from the Jamie Dixon/Ben Howland coaching tree. I’m elated he cane to Towson and fixed our program. Great to have expectations now and the ultimate goal is to dance but come on he’s still doing a great job. How many kids transfer in D1 b-ball every off season now!? Astronomical right. The grass ain’t greener on the side most places. Want me to list all the coaches I’ve seen in the WCC, Big West, Big Sky,etc that have runined programs. I’m not saying he’s Skip Prosser but he’s one of the better coaches in the East based on a multitude of categories. I hope he gets us to the dance! It’s not like it was 25+ years ago. I for one don’t want a one hit wonder... we may look back years from now and say “how the hell did PS get 19 wins out of this roster!” Go Tigers! I don’t want to go back to the way it was! Please no!!!

    Random observations

Let me be clear.. I’m not asking Prophete to get 15+ minutes a game. That I get and yes he has to earn those minutes. I just don’t think 3 is enough right now. 8-10. Again we haven’t had a bad season and we will get some more wins hopefully but I just don’t see this team doing much in the postseason.. we lack energy and this group isn’t having fun. Happens of course. Just think we gotta start mixing it up more... can’t hurt right!? Bigs always take longer but man it hurts seeing Thomas as a junior and really nothing to show for it. I like what Tunstall & Gorham bring to the table but it’s still not enough. Grab a grad transfer Big as well. We’ve had success with our last two.

    Random observations

    9) 2pm Saturday game and lots of empty seats... disheartening. I’m not asking for a sellout but aren’t students free!? Fans can’t play for them but extra noise can’t hurt. Agree with 1-8.. and it’s the old saying.. dig a whole early and you expend so much more energy trying to climb back in the rest of the way. We don’t rotate well on defense and we let too many teams catch and shoot on us without making them at least bounce it. I just don’t see the love of the game out there... the emotion... we look rundown and tired which I get sorta. Going forward they need to figure out a way to get ZM going sooner and not digging these early double digit holes. We need a floor general out there and it’s doesn’t have to be the PG... someone with a sense of urgency and more vocal. We didn’t defend well in the first half and paid for it. 2-3 backdoor layups etc. Building for next season now... let Prophete take more of Starr’s minutes.

MBB comes back from 18 down to beat Drexel in OT

Huge win on an Eagles day in Philly. What a discrepancy in foul shots... 18 more than us. Morsell needs to play with this kind of confidence the rest of the way and finish his career the right way. 8th in scoring now!? Gonna be a 20 win team most likely... here’s hoping this game awakens us and we go on a run. We actually owe Northeastern a beat down at home. Hope the place is rocking. On a side note I’m at a WCC game tonight where Terry Porter is in his second season at Portland. We also have Damon Stoudamire at Pacific. Of courss Ewing and Mullin at their Alma Maters. Maybe this is gonna be an upward trend.. more ex NBA guys wanting to coach in the college ranks!?

MBB blows 11 point lead, falls at JMU , 79-73

I have of course followed all season from the left coast and was fortunate to attend a game at SECU a week ago when we shit the bed in the first half of the Elon game. I saw EK argue with Skerry a couple of times on the sideline. Mind you EK is a player I’ve enjoyed the past 4 years. When he and Morsell were signing the posters after the game and we spoke I got the sense from their mannerisms and answers that they may have already checked out. My opinion of course. I’ve been waiting 27 years like the rest of you. I showed up on campus in the Fall of 91’. What a massive drought. Let me first say that we have so much talent now... Zane could really be something spectacular the next 2 seasons if he adjusts his game and of course they work him off of screens better. I’d have Martin watch Warriors game film all off season. He learns to catch and shoot with a pass first point guard in place.. POY. I agree with all of your assessments this season. PG & Post presence have really hurt us. I’m always gonna go down with the ship. This team still wins 20 but our magical season is no more .. nice run in the non conference though. Ultimately we need more basketball IQ on the court plain and simple and a captain to lead us. Hang in there... our dance will come. SECU is awesome Our band is amazing. Our PA announcer is dynamite. I still have to pinch myself seeing it all in person. It was like yesterday I was walking through the Towson Center as Jason Crump had his plyometric shoes while practicing his drop step move. We have come so far as a program. Go Tigers!
