Having memories of a Pat Kennedy era game where they supposedly had to push the bus a little etc. Stuck on the freeway I believe. Year!?
On a side note of course watched a ton of college ball this week.
6’9” or bigger Euro’s are all over the leagues. I know we had a kid previously who left quickly. Point being.. need to keep going after these kids... yes easy for a Hawaii or San Francisco to land however schools like Eastern Washington etc are pulling them in all the time.
Just hoping we get in the mix more for them. Success rate continuing to climb on them.
Let’s string some wins together over the locals.
Go Tigers.. Cornell was a win for sure.
We are Towson!!! At least we have Niners-Ravens today... epic!!!
-
I saw Hampton against University of SF today at lunch. Ben Stanley from Millwood HS... 24 points. Nice player.
-
Post game.
Aside from driving and stepping on the baseline for a turnover. He played decent. 3 assists. Solid defense.
Just a head scratcher why he’d leave for less minutes on the floor.
New Mexico is all Jr’s and Sr’s so he should be playing in the post season. Good for him however he could have done all this at Towson.
Oh well... the show must go on!Ps- Posting all those stats from ex Tigers... PS had a very bad stretch of recruiting. Yikes.
-
Have Martin and his Lobos on now.
Up on the Badgers early second half.Assuming he transferred to make the Big Dance!? Cause it sure wasn’t because of playing time... cough cough.
Some players receive bad advice. Just saying. Time will tell.
-
5-2 against A10 teams per PS. Made me crack up. He sounded like a man that read this board.
Take the win but Martelli less Hawks... that program in the dumps.
More Gray and Timberlake going forward. -
Florida & Xavier.. no.
Kent State & Buffalo... absolutely.
We built a new arena for this program. The coach received a massive extension.
We have a Senior who was picked for the All CAA team.
Only guys who get a pass right now in my mind are our freshman.
Did you watch the game yesterday!? We couldn’t get the ball over mid court 5 straight possessions!!!!!

No postgame interview. This is the kind of game Skerry should get on this board and personally apologize for.
That was a disgrace and I’m not exaggerating and I’m going back to 1991 following this school, team whatever.
Credit for recruiting some nice pieces but we must have to worst basketball IQ in the country at times.
You can’t piss away a game like that after Kent State, Florida and Xavier... unacceptable!
We look so unprepared at times on the floor coming out of timeouts. I just don’t get it!!!
I like to look at the positives but I can’t any longer. Long season my ass. Preparing for CAA play my ass.
That game was lost due to lack of basketball IQ by both the players and coaches.
I welcome PS to come on the board and explain to us the fan base what we should think about this program!!!

I’m Mr Optimistic always and in sunny Northern CA and I’m totally disgusted.
You can’t piss away a lead like that in the manner they did. Can’t break a press. Horrible across the board.
2 steps forward and 6 steps back. I don’t want to hear about all the promise bullshit etc. This was a bad bad loss and sucks the life out of us. Wake up Pat!!!!- 1
-
Pissed away!!! We are Towson. Enough said.
-
I saw these guys against SF last season... of course Perkins, McRae, Massinburg & Harris all gone... however Graves & Jordan still around. They’ve been vulnerable to inside post play in the past and as evident against UConn last night.
Sanders needs to give us his best game as a Tiger for us to win. 40 points in the paint or more and we win. Easier said then done. Ha
PS- Fobbs gonna hit his first 3!!!!!!
-
That was a fun watch yesterday. Last time I saw that kind of effort against a power school was the Oregon State game on the road.
Look.. we are Towson... always something seems to come.. no Howard this season. That being said I thought our defense looked so much better from past 2 seasons. I love seeing Neal on the bench and rubbing off some of his Spurs experience.
Crazy that Gibson is Crowley’s nephew... Dan was a freshman same time as me and a winner.
Charles Thompson is gonna be a good one.
End of first half getting 3 stops and then no points on the offensive end really hurt us. 30-30 instead of maybe 34-30.
And then the last minutes of game.. just didn’t run the right plays for Fobbs to get closer to the basket.
We are way past moral victories as it is 2019 and we’ve been waiting since 1991.
I’ve always loved Pat on the sidelines and the energy he brings. This is a solid 2019-20 team that better win 18 games or else.
Again I enjoy all the comments. We are such a small group of fans that actually cares about Towson Basketball.
I liked what I saw yesterday so I expect us to make a deep run in the CAA or else this season...
Go Tigers!

I like it. A Dan Monson recruit.
Can we get some of their non conference games in addition to this transfer.
We need to me more aggressive with scheduling and Monson does that better than most.
-
This is a really nice get.
Mass exodus at USC with all the new guys they brought in.
Brothers push each other and this can only be good for our chemistry in addition to protecting the paint.
We have hope Red and hope is a good thing.
-
This kid easily reminds me of Frankie Ferrari out here in the Bay. He really sees the floor.
Fobbs and Co gonna love playing with him.
Hope is a good thing Red!

“Gibby for 3... goood!!!”

Mladen Djordjevic (grad transfer)
University of San Francisco
*family and visa issues last season prevented him from playing
Very serviceable PG 6’3”. Can shoot the 3 and play defense. Solid guy to have to spell your starters and give you 10-15 minutes off the bench.
Not saying he’s a exact fit but our coaching staff needs to reach out to this kid. Legit.
-
Gibson & Timberlake in the backcourt next season.... gotta start the nicknames now...
“Boy Band Backcourt!?”
As I mentioned before.. if available.. big if!? Go out and get a grad transfer combo glue guard to help now... lead by example and with great work habits. And if not yes a transfer of some sorts to push them in practice and then contribute come 2020-21.
We don’t know what this kid can be however I’ll say this after watching Frankie Ferrari the past 3 seasons... size doesn’t matter if the quickness & court vision and overall IQ is there
Go Tigers.. Win next season or else... Dave Rose was just shown the door for not winning 20 games at BYU and he’s playing with 22-23 year olds!!!!

Good news. This kid looks like he has some of the intangibles that don’t always show up on the stat line.
I was depressed all weekend seing the likes of Wofford & UC Irvine and saying to myself.. “why not us!?”
-
USC has 4 of the top 5 2019 CA recruits signed up with Boogie Ellis being the lone one going to Duke.
How much playing time will he even see the next 2 seasons!?
They are loaded!

In defense of 2012... he cares and is a diehard fan. I may not agree with him however he makes valid points and gets me thinking as a fan.
I truly see both sides. We all want to win and it does suck when our neighbor is winning and shows us up.
We are all frustrated and want more from our program.
Sometimes a change is needed and I saw this first hand out here with the University of SF. Rex Walters cleaned up the program after academic issues etc. Built the foundation. Then Kyle Smith came in and took it farther however still more needed.
I’m ok with giving PS one more season. I’m also ok with cutting ties and bringing in fresh blood. This is the sporting landscape of 2019 now. What have you done for me lately.

Guard play still rules the college game landscape.
Zags frontcourt is really good however we sensed all season long that their backcourt was vulnerable and boom... they shoot 5 for 25 & 0-9 from 3 and are no longer a 1 seed.
Increase the recruiting budget so our staff can take more trips to Australia & beyond.
Aussies make foul shots and are not afraid to bang inside. Saint Mary’s plays in a small crappy gym.
Ah to be a Towson fan. Next season.

Blalock was a Delaware kid and to me he was a student favorite because he was always so personable with us on campus.
Very dependable and his game always reminded me of Rip Hamilton if he was more bulked up.
I love this entire thread and although the game has changed reading all this reminds me of truly what’s been missing the past couple of seasons aside from 🏀 IQ and sharp shooting etc.. true unbridled on court enthusiasm!!! When Boyd and Jacobs played.. they brought that enthusiasm to the court.
Damas & Guthrie had it. That love for the game and joy of playing D1 ball.
Not saying this current crop doesn’t but being a “gymrat” doesn’t always mean you love the game.

1 hour ago, Chris Datres said:There's a lot to be said about lack of skill level when it comes to this edition of Towson basketball. But you don't lose this many close games unless you're missing something and that's basketball smarts. I've harped on it numerous times throughout the season but a number of players on this team were not very basketball smart this season. One improvement that will be desperately needed for next season is someone, whether it's a returner or a newbie, to step up and be a vocal leader on the court to calm the ship when it starts listing. I didn't see any of that on this year's team. You can only coach so much from the sideline. It's up to the players on the floor to take control of things both physically and mentally in order to win close games and this year, we didn't have it.
And this is why I think you try to grab a grad transfer if one is out there. Not saying he has to play starter minutes.
Just a guy who has high basketball IQ and can lead by example for the younger guys and contribute consistently.
-
A band aid would help for next season and allow our younger guards to develop more.
Fobbs is a really nice player we only have for one more season.
Maybe I’m crazy but I’m seeing West Coast Conference Teams grabbing them left and right and it’s been effective. Hell give me a grad transfer big if he’s out there. I know we’ve done in the past with some success.
You have a ton of underclassman coming back. He’s gotta win next season or else.
EG/Geno Crandall at Gonzaga/Josh Martin at Santa Clara
Wow maybe we need an entire thread on Spiro... He’s fantastic in my opinion however I didn’t realize it was unpopular!?
You graduated in 2012!?
You need to try on a pair of plyometric sneakers to understand what someone of us have had to sit through these decades plus. I’ll take Thomas & Sanders over Crump any time.

Of course I’m following 🏈 but not as closely as the 🏀 program.
Didn’t we lose “5” players this season to knee injuries. Still managed to finish 7-5.
Again maybe I’m way off but Ambrose has taken us to the playoffs twice. 2013 & 2018. How many times did Combs get us there!!?? Once!??
Why not another season!? I was under the impression that we are getting better and better talent with this coach in place!?
