  1. Mad Dog had Tom McMillan on today to talk about Lefty..  great interview.
I forgot how he was in essence blamed for Len Bias and hence kept out of the Hall of Fame for decades.
Lefty may have taken Davidson to a National Title if Charlie Scott had decided to go there.
You had to win the ACC for a chance to dance back then..  how crazy is that notion looking back now.

Appreciate your coverage Mat1992…. I rely on you for 95% of my Towson Sports News.. a school so very dear to me.  Always be you and keep doing what you do.

There is much truth to what you say. There are a few exceptions to your rule.

Some coaches love the idea of planting a seed and watching it grow. I think a good example is Bill Coen at Northeastern. In my opinion, he is one of the finest basketball coaches around. He has been at Northeastern for 17 years. His teams have won conference championships and gone to NCAA. He has been Coach of the Year and should be a desirable coach. The "seed planter" is a rare coach, but nonetheless they do exist

All in all, you are likely right, but there are those that it is not all about "The Big Time". If you get one of them, you are a lucky program.

Lol. Plenty of your classmates have blocked me here. Take that as a badge of honor. And, no I’m not either of those.

there are plenty of gambling Assholes who comment crap. Block them, fine.  Those other posts from actual fans were questioning coaching and execution.  That’s an awful look but it’s Towson and Pat no show Skerry. Do we expect anything less???

This board has never blocked you from speaking your mind that I know of.  Bad loss today.  Frontier Airlines has now blocked me 🫣

  4. $4 on Amtrak from DC to Baltimore!!!!  Wow.
That was an excellent extremely detailed read.  I’ve only been to the Arena once.  It is sweet.
The SECU sign is still up..  set up a manlift rental and have Pat go up and take it down the day after we make the Big Dance 🪩 this season.  He can replace it with a tenporary sign that reads “NCAA Tournament 2024”

  5. And the band playing after the game with the singer.  Wow. That was great.  Super impressive

Youth was served last night..  Dylan, TT, Lowery & May combined for 91 minutes of play!  Yes yes I know the portal the portal will be calling but how bout the recruitment of Tejada and how talented this core is…. minus some foul shooting and defensive prowess we pray develops in the coming years.
Dare I say a formula going forward for us would be continuing to go after under recruited players and promising them a shot to prove themselves at Towson with a much better chance to move on to a Power 5 conference because of Towson development.   EG/Timberlake right now.
Am I off here or should we as a program accept the current landscape and be even more transparent about it?!   I’m sure we quietly may be telling recruits this but why not market it kinda like Calipari does with guys coming to Kentucky with the promise of the NBA right after.

    1)UNCW 9-3

    2)CofC 9-3

    3)Drexel 8-4

    4)Hofstra 8-4

    5)Delaware 8-4

    6)Towson 7-4

    7)Campbell 6-6

    8)Stony Brook 6-6

    9)Monmouth 6-6

    10)NC A&T 5-7

    11)NE 5-7

    12)Elon 3-8

    13)W&M 3-9

    14)Hampton 0-12

    Today's scores

    Home team in caps

    *NE over Monmouth 77-65

    *CAMPBELL over Stony Brook 95-77

    *Hofstra over NC A&T 81-49

    *Uncw over HAMPTON 95-65

    *CHARLESTON over Drexel 80-70

    *DELAWARE over W&M 69-58

Playing them the last game before DC is perfect for us.

  7. Only positive today was the 14-15 from the line.  Can’t continue to get off to bad shooting starts and win.  Bit us in the ass today.  Amazing we were 28-28 at the half.
Delaware has won 2 in a row.  Rice had 24 but didn’t matter.  Hens shot 50%.
Thursday gonna be a battle.  Step up veterans!

  8. Too early for awards but glancing at Lowery stats..

    18 minutes a game

    3.9 rebounds 17 steals 24 blocks

Only 3.6 points a game but this guy has been truly an unsung hero for us as he’s played out of position at times and he just really does the little things on the court that don’t always show up in the box score

*28 assists to 17 turnovers 👏  Stat that really jumps out to me

So, five straight wins and 18 straight home wins. Didn't see this coming in non-conference play without Tarke or even with Tarke. Thought he would make the team competitive and better defensively. But he's done more than that. Stats are nothing special but since he's been added to the starting lineup, the team is 9-2. As for Marcus Watson and Radhir Hicks, I asked about them at the press conference and it doesn't appear that they will be playing this season.

How good can this team be? It's a pretty enjoyable team to watch and nerve-wracking at times. But I kind of like the unpredictability. Last season, it was Timberlake giving you 20+, Holden 14 and 7 and Thompson 12 and 8. With this team, you never know. May could put up 20+ one night and Tarke the next or Williamson the next. Thompson is not giving you the consistent numbers of last season, though his conference numbers are better. For them to get to that next level, Tejada has to get his game back after hitting the wall.

Trying to enjoy this team knowing that I didn't have huge expectations and that they are overachieving IMO in a lot of ways. Not easy when you are in press row and can't root, so I'll be rooting on Saturday, hoping we defend and rebound better against a team with two superstars. Like every team in this league, including us, they are flawed.

Well said.  Again the team parts seem to fit. Credit to Pat for shuffling the deck with subs tonight to get the right combination to work and as CT pointed out the players act like they are all starters. In this day and age when players get butt hurt by their role I don’t see any malcontents at all.  Cam was big for us last season and he’s having success in England but just maybe we didn’t have the same chemistry last season because he wanted to be the “alpha dog” every night.
Like you mentioned..  any given night we could have a different player go off.
In defense of Tejada..  he’s averaged close to 24 minutes a game through 22 games..  probably just has hit a wall is all.  He forced a 3 tonight early in first half 2 feet well behind the line… he’s gonna be fine and mark my words he’s gotta another “2” game winning shots this season.

This board is so easy to crush these players and coaches and scrutinize eveey play of every game with all the technology at our disposable.   Remember Devin, Scooter and Company had some games where they struggled but we didn’t have this board etc.

We all have good days and bad days and no different with sports.

Enjoy this run..   support the team.  Push them to a CAA championship!

Ok, if you’ve never saw Kurk Lee play, you saw him tonight, in DWill. He’s not going to do this every night but damn, how refreshing is it to have a kid who can go 1-on-1 and take over a game?

Big sky point to CT, who’s foul shooting down the stretch was sparkling. And did you notice he hit a shot tonight facing the basket!!

So, I was very critical of Sulaiman in the chat room in the first half, but wow, he really stepped it up on D, and even on O, in the 2nd half.

Kudos to Tarke who played under control and dished out 5 assists and what can you say about Lowery’s D?

I thought we were going to get blown out in the 1st half, but our D turned the game around in the 2nd half. And the FT  was phenomenal. Actually, beyond phenomenal. Can we bottle it?  What is this now, 18 straight home wins? I guess the irony is it’ll probably now be tougher than ever to get teams to come play us at home.

The size of the crowd was disappointing, but it was engaged right from the beginning of the game & was louder than larger crowds we’ve had.

I don’t know what’s going to happen in the conference tournament, but I’m going to enjoy this for now. This may be sacrilege, but , given what he’s got to work with, Skerry may be doing his best coaching job since he’s been here. The only real down note about tonight is Tejada is now officially in a funk, having scored I think a total of 8 points in the last three games.

On to the Island of Long.

    Emphasis on “enjoy this”

Ways to go but this team is very intriguing.
D-Will tonight off the bench..  Can’t steal “microwave” but being from Upper Marlboro he’s that guy who takes his 10 minute break and goes through 2-3 cigarettes 🚬

What a run we are on!!!

It takes a team effort! We don’t have a #1 guy in any category, but we can beat any team in this league when all 5 guys are clicking

And we have a fan base with a chip on its shoulder that if and when we all show up to Washington DC in March could be that extra push of support this team needs to finally get over the top.

  12. Glancing at the schedules…. Colorado opens up with North Dakota State on August 31st and then plays Cincinnati in late October. So Coach Prime will be looking at our Towson Tigers game film 🎞️ from week 1.   Not a bad thing with all the media buzz he gets 24-7.
“Good Lord I watched this 1-AA team called Toe-son..  don’t ask me where they hail from me..  not in the state of Mississippi I know that much..  them guys gave the Bearcats quite a scare.  I see a few players I’d like to pluck away.”
