  1. Thanks as always for the coverage. The Canada trip will be great for them to get some experience and chemistry playing together with all the new pieces. Marcus Watson is exciting, he could be special. How many years has Charles Thompson played now? Six? Gonna need Conway and May to catch and shoot 3’s at a high clip. Gonna be interesting to see how well Dylan Williamson will be able to dribble drive and create at this level. Gotta pray these guys can make free throws. Feels like the towson defense and rebounding will be present, but the towson scoring droughts might come back to haunt us

  2. They should be an even better rebounding team with guyswho are built like tanks in Sulaiman (6-5, 220ish), Watson (6-6, 210), May (6-5, 212), Thompson (6-7, 250),and M. Jones (6-5, 230).

    don’t forget chase parr 6-10, 252!

Could be reminiscent of the Jerelle Bennimon era of dominance on the boards!

wonder if we’ll be able to gamble on DraftKings the Canada tournament

Will the ever-growing CAA step up to the plate?

The Colonial Athletic Association ... or as it is now officially known... the Coastal Athletic Association... is the biggest FCS league with a whopping 15 teams but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best. The conference added Campbell and North Carolina A&T this year after bringing in Hampton and Monmouth a season ago but the league still feels like it’s struggling to find the program that will propel it back into national relevance since James Madison left.

William & Mary is the current favorite but it’s hard to look past that ugly blowout defeat to Montana State in last year’s playoffs. The Tribe return big names on both sides of the ball but they still need to prove they can hang with the bluebloods. One thing that’ll be working in their favor is a slate that doesn’t feature Delaware, New Hampshire, Villanova or Rhode Island; all playoff hopefuls.

If it isn’t W&M, though, then who takes the torch? The Blue Hens, despite the reinvigoration of adding Ryan Carty as the new head coach last season, had a lackluster end to 2022 going out with a whimper against the champs. Elon didn’t fare any better once they hit the playoffs and Richmond was essentially in the same boat although the Spiders did give Sacramento State a scare in the second round.

With all that in mind, it’s difficult to nail down what the CAA will look like this year at the top and where it sits in the national picture. There’s no question that the Missouri Valley and Big Sky are the most competitive leagues out there and currently it’s not a forgone conclusion that the CAA is even third in that discussion like it used to be.

The baton that JMU left behind is still rolling around for anyone to take.

will anyone be able to stop W&M this year?

  4. He handled some tough questions well but he did have his usual bravado. “I worked with wake forest and USFL guys in Birmingham, and guys are asking me what do you think of this? I could be a football analyst or broadcaster cause I’m really smart” I’m glad his smug ass is gone. Positivity Pete is a breath of fresh air

The writer, Eric Blum, towson guy, i think he was in the Jewish frat aepi. Anyways he was saying the name change from coastal to colonial is really a big nothing. Unnecessary, not that cool, not that different than what it was. Not really specific as to which coast lol Not even really a collection of “coastal” destinations

  6. What’s everyone’s plans for renewing FloSports this fall?

I’m trying to decide if I purchase or not. I’m guessing the Maryland game will be on Big Ten Network or some other TV station.

Are we gonna get to watch the Morgan State game on MD Public Television?

Wonder if we get any other tv or coverage or if it’s all Aunt Flo or no show

  7. We really just need to embrace being road dogs and getting TV games. It’s been a challenge to get any quality opponents to SECU so might as well load up as many away games against brand name teams. Was v cool seeing us play Ohio State, Clemson, New Mexico State etc Could be cool to finally get a big win on national TV against a a bigger program.
