mat1992 2,237 Report post Posted March 4, 2022 Delaware up 43-30 at the half. Could have been a lot worse. Not sure what's up with Kubek. She came in for a minute. Took an open 3, threw up an airball and went back to the bench. The intensity was ratcheted up and Gary's two threes really got them going. Still a long ways to go, but have to come out better in third quarter. Hard to figure out why they had no juice to start the game. You can do that against UNCW and some other teams, but not Delaware. mat1992 2,237 Report post Posted March 4, 2022 Kind of playing in spurts. Got the lead down to 4 and then gave up a 5-0 run. That included a Dickey 3. Then Skye Williams just hit a tough running left-hander over Dickey who picked up her fourth foul with 4:49 left. Lead down to 7 with 3:49 left in the third quarter. Kubek finally back. mat1992 2,237 Report post Posted March 4, 2022 Kornegay-Lucas is probably having her worst game as a Tiger. She had a 2-on-1 fastbreak and was picked because of a predictable chest pass. In the first half, she missed 3 bunnies in a row on put backs in traffic. Still down 7 but have to take advantage of Dickey being out. Well, forget that as Skinner just hits what looks like a 3, but called a 2. She's by far their best player with Dickey out. How do you not show on that screen? Drexel is very fundamentally sound. They move it and pass it even better than Delaware. Our halfcourt offense is a mess when Kubek is not on the floor. Add that to the fact that Kornegay-Lucas is having a tough game that equates a DD loss. What has really disappointed me tonight, aside from the terrible start, is the defense. It hasn't been good all night. It's one thing is Dickey is beating you and another thing when the rest of the team is beating you when she's been sitting nearly half the game due to foul trouble.
