Hofstra beats MBB on buzzer beater

Here are the quotes

Skerry
We couldn't guard Foreman. Gave up a lot of threes. I look at the boxscore and break down the film. We didn't guard
threes and we didn't rebound the ball. We scored enough points and shot a high percentage. We didn't get the exact
shot we wanted at the end. I prefer we drive it. But I thought our execution, was iffy when we got up 9 or 10.
Had some turnovers, missed free throws. We didn't get over a couple of flares an we paid for it. This one hurts.
Kind of feel like someone took your lunch money and they ran off with it.

On offense being stagnant late
We shot 54%. We had some silly turnovers. Zane had some. We were in the double bonus. Just needed to get the ball to
the rim more. We didn't shoot the ball great from the perimeter. We got to the foul line and shot a high percentage.
We knew they would play zone. They hadn't played much all year and we prepared for it. Turnovers. It's hard to
give up 13 threes and win a ballgame.

On Morsell not playing
He didn't play great tonight. We had different guys. He played well before that. He had no rebounds in 18 minutes.
Jordan has been playing better. The last play, we ran the ball screen for Eddie. We had an overload for Brian and
one more for Zane in the corner. We didn't get the last shot, he was open but he left a little time on the clock.
Those are tough plays. He was open. Do you not shoot it? He got an open 3 and he missed. We played with fire a little
bit. It hurt us against Elon, hurt us against Pittsburgh. We had the dead to right and didn't finish. Whether it was
a silly turnover or not getting over a flare. The guy makes a bomb... we haven't quite had that ability to close.
We have some seniors. That's a little bit disappointing. Our younger guys played better this evening for us.

On home streak ending
We expect to win at home. We did it in stretches. We don't consistently...there are certain nights where we are
incredibly engaged and ready to go. This one was in spurts. That's hurt us a bit. The message hasn't gotten across
enough. Hofstra and Elon are good. They are in the top 100 in the RPI. We haven't done a good enough job with that.
You play with fire and you get burned. This is one we should have put away. We needed to come up with a stop.

On Justin Gorham
He's been playing really well. We should have gotten him in a few more times. If we did sputter, we settled.
He's really a starter that is coming off the bench for us. He's pretty healthy right now.

On rebounds
We didn't offensive rebound the way we normally do (4 rebs). We shot it pretty good. It hurts you against zones
sometimes to offensive rebound. That's the benefits of playing the zone.

On pressing
I thought we had lineup we could hurt them with (end of a half). We hadn't pressed the last couple of games and it
worked. For us to get to where we need to get to, you look at our offensive numbers. Our efficiency numbers are
higher than they've ever been. The troubling piece for us is that we're not consistently guard. Sunday we did and
we are in stretches. Wilmington we did for a half. We just didn't do it tonight. We guarded threes early in the
season with a good schedule, as well as almost anybody in the country. Now we're not. We have that exucse to us.
"I got hit with the screen or he didn't call it" To be the team we want to be, you can't have that. Results or
excuses, you can't have both. We just didn't do a good enough job of making them miss. They made some shots but
we've always prided ourselves on making teams miss. To get where we want in our league, you look at the way teams
shoot it, we just don't want to get down the court and jack shots. We're scoring enough points. We're second in
the league in field goal percentage. We have to guard better. That's been inconsistent. We have to find our
footing in that area.

On Brian's last shot
It ended up being early, especially when you're in the double bonus and you have a chance to get to the line and
drive it. The last second plays against zone. We had Eddie off a ballscreen and Zane. We have pretty good trust
with Eddie making the right decision. We left some time on the clock. It wasn't intentional. It's a little bit
tricky for a player. Maybe we went a couple of seconds too early. It's hard when you're open to say shoot I
can't shoot this one. That's a tough spot. If he make it, he looks like a hero. If we could have waited about
two seconds. Shot-ready, feet-ready. It's been an issue with him and Mike. Guys get a little antsy. Would hope
they would't by
