The AD’s Vision of the Division

Recommended Posts

(BTW, it would be nice to have a president who is into sports. It seems like this is finally the case. Dr. Ginseberg is a Penn State football fan. His first date with his wife Elaine was at a Nebraska/Penn State game as both were grad students. She's a Nebraska native)

For those who did not read this, here are the highlights from Goals

3)Brand Advancement
We have sealed a deal with Monumental Sports Network, formerly NBC Sports Washington, that aired four Towson football games and three volleyball matches this past fall and will broadcast seven men's basketball and five women's basketball games this winter. We are also announcing an agreement today with MeTV Baltimore to televise three men's basketball conference games. Twelve of our 14 men's home games will now be televised on linear television with two airing on CBS Sports Network. In all the Tigers will make a total of 23 appearances on linear TV this basketball season. This important stride provides exposure to our Towson brand across the Mid-Atlantic, getting our broadcasts into households throughout a seven-state footprint in our region.

4)Improving and Enhancing Facilities; Revenue Generation
The Tiger Athletic Fund is working to engage with fans and alumni who want to invest in our future. We are currently ahead of where we were last year, but still behind our pre-pandemic fundraising totals. As we continue to elevate the department, support is needed now more than ever. In the coming months, we are excited to share updates to the anticipated Phase 2 Renovation of the Field House and future plans for improving the Towson Center.

As we settle into the holiday season, I want to express my gratitude to you as someone who is interested in what is going on at Towson. Without the fans at the games, parents tailgating and traveling afar to support their loved ones or alumni stepping up to support, our student-athletes striving for excellence is not possible. Your enthusiasm and support provide our teams with energy each and every day.

He talks the talk, but we’ll see what the results are in 5 years. We all have mentioned a dorm or dining hall on the stadium side of campus would help improve foot traffic to the games. The south campus pavilion and auburn house are nice but they need more stuff built up over there to draw a regular crowd.

love the TV deals, it’s nice being able to watch from the couch without needing an extra streaming service.

the fan attendance is gonna be heavily dictated by the students. If they can get the students to buy in that will make games more fun and draw better ticket sales for years to come

gonna need lots of money to accomplish this, but if we can find half a million dollars per year to pay Coach Skerry we can find the money somehow

Who would the hell would want to live over there?! (Besides the people on here who think Towson is the “best fcs town” 😆) Makes little sense IMO

I would say student attendance probably makes up 15-20% of the crowds. That’s poor. It’s worse now for basketball then when we were in the TC watching pats cats. Atleast they had 40 or so students who stood and cheered. They were next to the band and right near the oppositions bench.  We have gotten so far away from that now, it’s not even funny

TV is a good and bad thing. Gets the school out to non fans, but can also reduce attendance
