While reflecting on yesterdays game, a game we very nearly gave away, and thinking about the program in general.

3 minutes of research shows this -- look at our conference record under RA.

42-46 (.477) total

23 - 41 (.360) without someone named West

14-34 (.292) without someone named West or Flacco.

Wow. Good research. Both enlightening and depressing at the same time. Only 14 conference W’s in games without West or Flacco. That covers about a decade? One might except to see such a disparity in basketball, where 1 player can sometimes account for a huge swing (David Robinson at Navy comes to mind as such an example). But to see this in football is surprising to me. I guess it’s fortunate he had West fall into his lap. As I recall it was a confluence of events (a coaching change at a school that was interested in him, not having the grades to get into another school, Morgan State somehow screwing up West going their) that lead to West to coming to TU sort of by default

Actually, sort of a silly point. It would be similar to saying, what is Bill Belicheck's record without Tom Brady. Maybe he should be fired. Coaching records are obviously better when they have exceptional players. Regular season records of our basketball coach are pretty good....extension after extension, but has the men's b-ball program been a success? I would venture to say not. There are many ways to evaluate success. People tend to use the ones that serve their preconceived notion.

Really??  You think that. 134-128 regular season is not the pretty good.
